Every girl, boy, man, woman and everything in between should download this app or check out the site. There are so many points of view, or opportunities to question and become aware of your own viewpoint, life’s happenings and the emotions or results from said experiences you are sure to find an article that was worth your time! Download it! You know you want to (since you’ve come this far in my review it’s a clear elephant in the room ☺️🐘<—- did you know it’s good luck for an elephants trunk to be pictures facing up? Someone should let apple/emoji know) take care and enjoy!

### 2/5 — Careful when choosing!

*2021-04-18, version 3.8*

Two articles per day. Careful when scrolling. Can’t mark something to read in the future. Will probably delete because the internet is filled with articles I don’t have to pay to read.

### 5/5 — Elephant is great

*2021-04-11, version 3.8*

This is a great App but I wish it was not so expensive. Nevertheless I highly recommend it to anyone who can afford it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — To dishonor elephants

*2025-03-08, version 3.25*

You dishonor elephants with your dishonesty. How should I trust you with a paid subscription when I read one article and am then told if I sign on I will get 2 more free articles. But upon doing this am immediately begged for money before I am allowed to view even one more. After all the horrific pain and injustice visited upon one of the most intelligent and peaceful creatures of this planet, who have been decimated by man, you my friend choose to use them for profit. And does any of this even go towards their relief, welfare, caring or saving? I see no indication of such. I am truly sorry but you will not have mine until you do something worthy and deserving of it, for them .

### 1/5 — No refunds and no concern

*2024-03-19, version 3.25*

Years ago this was a free blog. I understand they need money to run the business but as a cost to those that looks to this company for support and conscientious journalism, this one has really depleted in value. I had hoped that I would discover improvements but app shuts down and company will not refund even if issue was discovered within minutes of purchase. Sadly, eventually it always becomes about making money.

### 1/5 — Met weekly limit?

*2022-10-12, version 3.25*

Subscribed to them for years…recently went Onto the app to read an article, and got a pop up saying I’ve reached my weekly limit of free articles (I literally haven’t read one on EJ in months) and gave me options to pay?!?! I don’t understand? Are there no free articles any longer? Please fix this.

### 1/5 — Duped

*2021-04-16, version 3.8*

I didn’t see a notice for payment. And I thought if I downloaded this app I could easily remove it if I didn’t want it. Boy was I wrong on both counts.

### 1/5 — “Free” App

*2021-02-25, version 3.3*

I was so excited for this app but in order to read the articles you have to subscribe. I was able to read 2 articles before getting the daily limit notification. If I had known this I wouldn’t have bothered to download it. It’s way too limited when it comes to reading the articles unless you want to pay for a subscription.

### 1/5 — No access with free version.

*2021-02-03, version 3.2*

To read more than just a couple articles a day, you need a subscription that is rather pricey for the material that is offered.

### 1/5 — I feel like I got scammed

*2020-08-17, version 2.11.1*

Stumbled across a great article online which then suggested I get the app. I created my free account and tried to view some posts on the front page but none of them would load. Then once one finally did load, I was interrupted with “you’ve hit your maximum limit” and “pay $$$ to read more” messages. Ridiculous waste of time. Do not buy into this manipulative app.

### 1/5 — Stop sending email website won’t let me unsubscribe

*2020-07-28, version 2.9.1*

Stop. Website refuses to let me unsubscribe

### 1/5 — Reads are too limited

*2020-01-11*

I just downloaded the app yesterday with no knowledge that you are limited to a certain amount of articles per day. They dont tell you the amount you get per day. I have shaky hands and accidentally click on articles sometimes and try to quickly go back before it registers but it is no use. I deleted the app after a few days because I have not been able to find an author that I like since it is just too limited. I think you only get two “free” articles a day, and some of them are written very poorly.

### 2/5 — Beware! Can’t cancel it despite trying daily!

*2021-08-12, version 3.12*

I found it interesting and paid up. But now I’d like to cancel it but the ‘cancel subscription’ button doesn’t seem to work. Beware!

### 5/5 — Nice

*2023-05-31, version 3.25*

This is a really good app. I use the free version, because I am on a fixed income, and can’t afford subscriptions. But, I find the reading limit well, too limited. 2 articles a day, and a weekly reading limit. That’s not good. I would definitely pay for a subscription if I could afford it. But as I said above, I am on a fixed income and that is just not possible. It would be nice if you could find a way to make the app completely free for those of us on a fixed income. It would help a lot. I found some good stuff on it already. I would love to read more. But as it stands, well, I have reached my weekly limit. Still a really good app though.

### 5/5 — Good
