Sometimes banking with a local credit union means sacrificing some modern day comforts, but ECU’s app update eliminated that compromise entirely. I feel like I’m banking in the 21st century while still banking with a local business that I trust. While there have been some quirks, it is overall so so much easier to do what I need to do with my accounts from my phone, and I feel confident that the team will continue to improve things every month. The latest improvement is what brought me here today: increased character count on the memo line for bank transfers! I don’t know if the team realizes how significant that is for my banking experience, but it is! Huge thank you! I imagine that a lot of “squeaky wheel” naysayers popped up during the initial phase of the major changes, so I want the team to know that I personally have been nothing but grateful and excited as each new improvement is rolled out. I often have odd corrections with my account but feel credit unions are the way to go. More than once I have felt like changing to another but the reality of domino change is too daunting. The app stopped executing bill pay, I have to go to the laptop and log in. Many other basic tasks are not possible. However, it’s incredibly irritating because I have to constantly delete and reinstall. The button to verify if you are human completely freezes and won’t let me into the app. And when I do get in, the slowness of the app is just as repellent, often needing to be reopened and signed into again.
