It seemed good but I wasn’t using the app. I canceled, and I was still charged $145.77. Also why can’t we access the chapter summary in the player ? It is very frustrating. Older hilarious bugs persist too, but largely good *2026-08-22* Edit: New bug in today’s update using latest iOS and app version on iPhone 14 Pro - where play controls and “back to current” disappear regularly and don’t come back via the usual methods like scrolling further up, exiting and re-entering book etc. Guys, you gotta get it together with the way voices handle extra letters. Like “Buuuuuut” or “Nooooooooo” or “Sooo” result in the most hilarious tone and length of spoken sounds. Also please create a rule that stops it mumbling completely random sounds when a new chapter starts with just a number or number written as a word. It sounds like another language but isn’t. Sometimes it even finishes the final sentence paragraph before a chapter where it says something like “EIGHT” followed by a character name on the next line in all caps as a subheading, then the body text for the chapter and it’ll go (joltingly loudly compared to the volume it’s been reading at) “AEEEAEEEAHHH” then make a whining sound for an obnoxiously long time then say the chapter number then whine a bit more then chop a part off the name, then start the paragraph and whine then go back to normal. It’d be comical if it wasn’t so disturbing. These examples are happening in all versions of Archer voice which is the only British English or Irish voice I can find that talks in a normal way and doesn’t suddenly go quiet like it’s been shut in a closet every few paragraphs. (Otherwise my favourite would be Cillian). But it seems to happen in all voices after a while. Both these things have been going on a month or two but I swear have gotten worse recently. Also please more British English and Irish conversational / faster speaking natural sounding voices! As an Australian I can’t stomach American sounding voices and the rest of the world agrees when it comes to English they just sound better and more intelligent. **Developer response:** We're sorry to hear about the bugs you're experiencing. When I attempted to contact customer service, the chat was unhelpful and then the customer service team just failed to respond. Would absolutely not recommend unless you’re willing to be financially locked in for longer than you plan to. ### 5/5 — In love! *2026-08-18, version 1.11.26* I have tried so many “voice to text” apps to make turning fan fictions into audiobooks a reality. Every other app I tried had either awful, computerized voices that mispronounced everything or cost an obscene amount. I finally found the perfect app in ElevenReader and I am in Game of Thrones fan fic heaven! 😍 ### 4/5 — Great but a few tweaks would make it easier *2026-08-17, version 1.11.26* I love this app. It is so good and the voices are so clear. I typically listen at 2 or 2 1/2 times speed and these voices are actually better than the real audiobook. However, with that said there are a couple improvements. One they need to add a start and stop button and they need to add an addition to Apple CarPlay. These seem like easy fixes because they’ve already completed the hard parts, but the app will start and stop and make it difficult to return to where you stopped and in the car the only way you can listen is through a workaround with your Bluetooth. so please take this next baby step and make this a truly exceptional app. ### 5/5 — My TBR Finally Found a Voice *2026-08-17, version 1.11.26* ElevenReader is what happens when text-to-speech stops sounding like a GPS having an existential crisis. The killer feature for me is being able to toss in an EPUB, PDF, article, or other reading material and basically manufacture my own audiobook. The voice selection is wildly good—natural enough that I can actually disappear into a story instead of constantly noticing that I’m listening to AI. I especially love having control over the narrator. Sometimes a perfectly good audiobook gets absolutely murdered by a voice that doesn’t fit the characters, and ElevenReader basically says, “Okay babe, pick another one.” It’s also fantastic for turning things I need to read into things I can listen to while driving, cleaning, or wandering around pretending I have my life together. This app has legitimately increased how much I read. That’s the whole ballgame. ### 2/5 — Not unlimited *2026-08-16* I’m an avid ebook consumer.
