### 1/5 — App won’t load

*2022-08-15, version 3.1.0*

This is not the first time this app has stopped working! Had it on my iphone11 now tried to connect it to iPhone 13 and no success. Even had BT come out think it was my home internet which it isn’t. Tried it on an iPad and still not able to connect to app. This is one of the worse apps I ever had to use.

### 1/5 — Needs Updating as doesn’t connect anymore

*2020-07-21, version 3.0.3*

As the title says, the app designers don’t update this regular with IOS updates.
The app is fine when working.

### 1/5 — All gone wrong

*2017-05-20, version 2.7.6*

Can't update iseless

### 1/5 — Good app, needs work!

*2016-11-02, version 2.7.3*

Great app, and a reliable clever device, but some functionality is missing! For the cost, I would really like to see:

1) an API of some sort to be able to extract usage into other applications.

2) a way to check generation relay status via IP, so other home automation systems on the network can take action (ie turn on / off devices!) dependent on energy generation! Currently everything is locked up inside this app, despite me owning the hardware.

3) usage on more than 1 device. It's limited currently to pair with one phone. There are multiple phones in the house and an iPad, it should work on all these devices! It's a bit limiting...

### 1/5 — Latest update has language issues

*2016-01-18, version 2.6.1*

The 16th January update has put all the menus and a lot of the text into Italian!

### 1/5 — Language?

*2016-01-16, version 2.6.1*

Why is my version of Elios4U using the Italian language?

Where can I go to select English?

### 2/5 — Oh dear

*2017-03-12, version 2.7.6*

It was all working fine until this firmware update. Now all my smart switches have been deleted and some app buttons are in Italian.

### 3/5 — Firmware update renders Power Reduce inoperative

*2018-06-22, version 3.0.0*

June 2018 - The latest firmware update fails every time. As a result the Power Reducer is not working and the supplier is unable to offer any solution. When it works I rate it 5 star but in this condition it is worthless.

### 3/5 — 4-noks

*2016-05-08, version 2.7.0*

2.7.0

Unreliable update - everything has been fine(ish) since the 2.6.1 fiasco...BUT this update breaks it again, requires a firmware update which fails so now stuck with a new version which won't work due to this.

Maybe one day they will test the release before unleashing it in the wild.

Potential to be great, but let down by unreliable data update. The web portal works well but doesn't have same realtime display as mobile app.

This latest version 2.6.1 seems to have broken the English language support into a mixture of Italian and English.

### 4/5 — Mostly great - used for 7 years (so far!)

*2022-10-23, version 3.1.0*

Overall this is a great app for monitoring your solar PV system and household power usage.

Currently running on iPhone and iPad, with iPad wall mounted to show the household when’s best to used appliances.

Updates that would really help.

Link system to auto iCloud backup, if you change devices you can loose a LOT of data of not backed up.

Following up from this, the 4cloud system seems to have all the data, but there is no way to restore from that to your phone.

Finally, having the ability to show on 2 screens while at home would be great. There may be a work around for this, but not ideal.

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great when it works!

*2019-09-27, version 3.0.1*

Following iOS 13 update on iPhone, app crashes on start (I did update the app to version with iOS 13 update). Hopefully 4-Anika will resolve this quickly.
Redcap is great, and app makes it easy to control devices attached to it, as well as monitor PV performance and power use. Unfortunately, can’t do any of that now that the app isn’t working.
Would have been 5* if update hadn’t broken it.
Updated review to 5* as iOS 13.1 update has fixed crash.

### 5/5 — Great.... BUT

*2018-06-07, version 3.0.0*

Having had Elios4you for 4 years, the major flaw is with saving of data.
Several times I’ve had iPhone crashes which needed re-install and resulted in losing ALL data.
Yes, I know there is an option to back up before reinstalling, however, that’s useless if your phone dies, lost, crashed....

### 5/5 — First class

*2017-12-06, version 2.7.9*

We use it to monitor a customers energy consumption. It enables us to divert energy flow to the grid into the underfloor heating and hot water instead. It handles energy generation in excess of 12kW. We can access across the internet from 3 different iPads and a smart phone. Excellent graphs using 15 minute averages.

### 5/5 — Great Device and App

*2015-11-02, version 2.6.0*

I have been using this for 12 months now and upgraded from the orange cap to red cap. Since then been using smart sockets to control electric heaters / outdoor lights. I would highly recommend it

### 5/5 — @AFordy

*2014-07-18, version 2.2.4*

Check out the new Red-Cap retrofit zigbee comms feature - allows you to control up to 4 wireless sockets or switches via the APP. Set up the App in "indirect mode" on your wifi and you can run the App outside the home too. Also, you can pair multiple devices - just go through the wizard in the App with each phone/tablet

### 4/5 — Language issues in latest version

*2016-01-19, version 2.6.1*

Would be good to have an English language version again.

### 4/5 — Works but could be better

*2016-01-17, version 2.6.1*

Just updated and it seems that the English version has been forgotten about. Not sure how this was not picked up in testing. Would avoid updating until this issue is resolved

### 4/5 — Energy master

*2013-05-03, version 1.6*

This is a neat little app that enables those who have installed this photovoltaic system to follow energy use trends. It is quite fascinating to watch the effects of sun and cloudy shade and switching appliances on and off - beats a lot of TV. Wish list is it could work on more than one home tablet device, then 5 stars.
