I also love that it isn’t cluttered with worthless flashy chests and skins like Duolingo has become and focuses on the learning with the dopamine being from completing a lesson and keeping your streak, not a million time sucking distractions. I love this App and I love that Jane and Brian are not remote and genuinely want it to work for people learning a new language. In Spanish, verbs are everything and they make it more user friendly and realistic by using sentences to practice them and a host of other features. So, it’s not just a conjugation exercise. What’s more, they send out releases regularly and accommodate so many requests. It is just so useful and designed to meet time limits; you can spend 5 mins or 50. What’s not to like. I understand they need money to have to app running & to improve the app but that’s wild to me. I understood only allowing the top 100 verbs to be study and having to pay to study more of them. But conjugations tho. ### 1/5 — You cannot cancel subscription *2026-02-17, version 3.4.14* in order to cancel subscription you have to write an email to them. If you see ellaverb's youtube ad -- the same one that has been running interminably for years -- the echo-y audio quality and stilted script equate perfectly to the poor quality of their app. ### 1/5 — No full access from the program *2024-10-26* on my 7 day trial i reached preterite irregulars, then applied for the give back program. Said they would give it in at least 24 hrs. Just might as well start over. End up spending 30 to an hour just trying to pass the level sometimes. Or I just end up having to use Google Translate since some levels just throw way too many irregular verbs at you at once. I’ve been actively taking classes and doing group with a tutor for almost two years and I’ve tried most all of the free Spanish language learning content that’s out there. This app, for me, has been the best free version period. It’s clear and concise. The lessons and explanations make perfect sense and the quizzes are excellent.
