## What is Elsevier Clinical Pharmacology?

Clinical Pharmacology is the leading professional drug reference solution.

To get started with Elsevier Clinical Pharmacology
1. Download the free Elsevier Clinical Pharmacology App
2. Sign in securely using your Clinical Pharmacology or Institution account

Trusted by over 2,000 hospitals and 35,000 retail pharmacies, Clinical Pharmacology offers easy-to-find answers to all drug questions as compiled by an editorial team consisting entirely of PharmDs. Clinical Pharmacology is the most current and comprehensive drug reference compendium available.

FAST, ACCURATE & RELIABLE
Clinical Pharmacology Mobile offers the fastest path to accurate answers and provides convenient access to the features and functionality that clinicians rely on most from Clinical Pharmacology, even when you are offline!

SMART SEARCH
Powerful multi-concept search by drug name, indication, contraindication or adverse reaction to quickly find the precise drug information you need. Robust tools to assist your search, such as predictive type-ahead, search history, and scoped search by drug classification, product or monograph.

EASILY DIGESTIBLE INFORMATION & ACTIONABLE DATA
The same authoritative content, but more concise and presented in the form of an answer funnel – tap thru to only the level of detail you require. Toggle multiple views within the same interface to find the right clinical lens - Adult versus Pediatric dosing, On versus Off Label use by indication, and more. Strategic use of info-graphics instead of text to provide answers at a glance.

DRUG IDENTIFIER
Easily identify pills using the imprint or by physical characteristics such as shape, color, scoring or dosage form. Dynamic imprint matches save you time, with type-ahead surfacing the drug name and thumbnail for immediate verification. Results feature multiple ways to aid visual identification, including full-screen, high-resolution drug images.

POWERFUL CLINICAL TOOLS
Evidence-supported clinical algorithms to quickly identify drug interactions or adverse reactions:
• Drug-to-drug interaction report: immediate feedback on interactions as you enter drugs, leading to an easy-to-scan synoptic description of interactions categorized by severity. Unique to Clinical Pharmacology, optionally check for interactions between drugs and other life-style factors such as diet, smoking, alcohol consumption and more. Tap through the synopsis to see a detailed description of the interaction, which can be toggled between a professional and consumer view to share and consult with patients.
• Adverse reaction report (ADR): using the only algorithm of its kind on the market, enter either a single drug or a combination of drugs and see the adverse reactions they cause. Easily filter and sort the report by key clinical factors such as severity, incidence and onset.

FEWER TAPS, QUICKER ANSWERS
Built by clinicians for clinicians, speed to answer was the operating principle that guided every decision around the app’s navigation, flow and content structure. Each major feature is one-tap away, and all extraneous steps have been removed or optimized to complement a clinician’s busy workflow.

### 1/5 — “Disk is full”

*2022-10-12, version 2.4.2*

App won’t even work on my phone. When I open it, it tries to download it’s data but then says “There is not enough free space on disk. This download requires 1813 MB.”

I have > 20 GB of free space. I’m not going to start deleting my stuff because this app thinks that 10x the amount of storage it needs is insufficient. So I guess I’ll delete this app instead.

Lexicomp and Micromedex on the other hand work like a charm. (They even look like they were designed to work with your phone!) So I would recommend using one of their apps instead of wasting your time with this one.

### 5/5 — Thank you for Updating The User Interface

*2022-04-02, version 2.4.1*

Dear Clin Pharm Staff,

Thank you for updating the user interface for modern iPhones. Those black bars on the top and bottom of the screen every time I opened the app have been driving me crazy for years

### 1/5 — You’ll be much better off with a competitor

*2020-11-16, version 2.3.5*

Consistently a pile of garbage. Routinely logs off for no reason. The simplest of tasks for a dynamic database driven app, the update is a crapshoot that often fails. If you’re relying on this tool, look somewhere else.

### 1/5 — Awful

*2020-08-02, version 2.3.5*

Won’t download clinical information despite there being enough room for the app on the phone. Still doesn’t fit updated screens.

### 1/5 — Worst Rx app

*2020-06-05, version 2.3.5*

Clinical pharmacology is the worst app to use on your phone for quick reference. Mine hasn't updated content since February 2020. Updates say download failed. I tried reinstalling the app and now I can't even download the database so it's useless.

### 1/5 — Pretty crappy app design and will not update

*2020-03-23, version 2.3.5*

Too bad because content is very good, but I feel like it was designed by an idiot.
Same pathetic layout as the main clinical key website. They need to go back to the prior design for both website and this app.

### 1/5 — Worst of the worst

*2020-03-07, version 2.3.5*

1. App constantly logs you out, CONSTANTLY
2. App/clin pharm ppl make logging in with institutional accounts nearly impossible.
3. Worst app because I can never use it when I need to.
4. Seriously this app is completely useless save your time on it

Better recommendations include lexicomp, uptodate, micromedex, even Epocrates is better than this bull. As a matter of fact; the package insert is more reliable and handy than this garbage useless app. Drugs.com is better, at least I get onto drugs.com. Dailymed is better than this garbage. Honestly go to dailymed and download all the package inserts on your phone or computer and search them, even this method is more reliable and astronomically less frustrating than trying to use this absolute piece of trash app that never seems to let me log in or use it or when I finally get logged in it logs me out like the very next day. Honestly, ask your neighbor friend or roommate about the info you need, even this method is better than trying to use this trash.
Anything, literally any other resource is superior to this garbage.

### 1/5 — Poorly designed

*2020-02-12, version 2.3.5*

Updating is tiresome, often have to reinstall to even get going. Poor design choices jumping between sections and lacking many features of clinical key

### 1/5 — Content update does not work

*2019-11-14, version 2.3.5*

Have to redownload 2+ GB and reinstall the app each time. Terrible. Also not optimized for iPad! 👎

### 2/5 — Find a better drug app

*2019-08-03, version 2.3.3*

This app worked great until the latest update, which exceeded the 64GB iPhone X. I really liked this app too, but there’s better out there.
