About

Twenty widgets for people who care what their Home Screen looks like. Elyr is a widget app built the way a widget should be: one number, one image, nothing competing for your attention. Every widget comes in three sizes, seven styles and fourteen typefaces, and every style is drawn twice — once for light mode, once for dark — so your Home Screen still looks composed when the sun goes down. WHAT YOU CAN PUT ON YOUR HOME SCREEN Weather — the temperature and a single condition glyph, with an hourly strip on the larger sizes. Set a city and Elyr never asks for your location. Air — air quality on the European scale, with the band named so the number means something. Daylight — sunrise, sunset, and how much light is left, drawn as an arc. Up Next — the next thing in your calendar. Not a list. Just what's next and when. Moon — tonight's phase, computed on device, accurate offline. Season — how far through this summer you actually are. Year — the year as a percentage and a field of dots. Countdown — days until the date that matters. Since — days since the one that already happened. Clock — the time, set large, with the date beneath it. Quotes — a hundred and twenty-three lines from Marcus Aurelius, Rumi, Dickinson and others. Tap for the next one. Mood — tap once a day. The month fills in behind you. Tally — count anything with a tap. It never opens the app. Hue — a different colour every day, derived from the date itself. Activity, Move, Heart, Sleep — steps, calories against a goal, heart rate and last night's sleep, read from Apple Health. Battery — level and charging state. Music — what's playing, with play, pause and skip. SEVEN STYLES, FOURTEEN TYPEFACES Glass, Paper, Sand, Mist, Slate, Line and Ink. Set them in SF Pro Rounded, Space Grotesk, Bebas Neue, Unbounded, JetBrains Mono, Barlow Condensed, Big Shoulders, Rajdhani, Orbitron, Text Me One, Tilt Prism, Tilt Neon, Anton or Antonio. The gallery inside the app shows every widget at full size, in every style and typeface, against your own light and dark appearance — before you commit to anything. WIDGETS THAT DO SOMETHING Tally, Mood and Quotes respond to a tap without launching the app. Counting a glass of water should take one second, not a cold start. The rest hand you off where you'd actually want to go: the weather widgets open Weather, the rings open Fitness, heart and sleep open Health. PRIVACY, PLAINLY No account. No analytics. No advertising. No tracking of any kind. Your health data, calendar, music and mood never leave your phone — they are read, drawn into a widget, and cached so the widget still works while your phone is locked. The only things that ever go out are a city name, to fetch the weather, and a purchase receipt. Elyr never asks for your location and cannot determine where you are. Your tally counts, mood entries and preferences sync between your own devices through your iCloud account, not through any server of ours. ONE PAYMENT Clock, Year, Countdown and Quotes are free forever, in three styles, with no time limit and no nagging. Elyr Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks the other sixteen widgets, all seven styles and all fourteen typefaces. It is not a subscription. It does not renew. A widget already sitting on your Home Screen can never stop working because a payment failed. Requires iOS 17. Health, Calendar and Music widgets ask permission first, and everything else works without any.

What's New in Elyr

1.1

August 21, 2026

Elyr now shows you how to add your first widget — a short guide on first launch, and a reminder in the gallery until one is on your Home Screen. The Pro screen was rebuilt around the widgets themselves, so you can see exactly what you'd be unlocking before you decide. Tapping a locked widget on your Home Screen now opens Elyr instead of another app. Fixes: the Unlock button rendered as a flat grey slab in both light and dark mode.
