And on Mac the OPML import produced a "400: bad request". Seems like the app is terribly broken. Frequent crashes. Notifications don’t work. AT ALL. Comments are made to make the developer encourage the work he has done. Had to cancel my subscription straight away. Running the latest app I had a hard time creating an account like noted in prior reviews. I had to force close the app multiple times and somehow was able to finally get logged in. Added 1st rss feed that I use daily in my other reader and this app just did circles like it was thinking and got stuck. I force closed the app again. Eventually was able to add one feed and the generated thumbnails looked all blurry. Closing or restoring purchase or anything goes back to the start and repeat. I appreciate it. ### 1/5 — Nothing works, a subscription is required to do anything *2022-04-18, version 2022.3.1* You open the app and you're presented with a welcome screen where you can choose if you want to Sign up with Apple or go with "Private ID". Both options lead to crashes. After signing up with Apple for the second time, the app shows immediately a window called "Your Subscription" that you cannot close unless you choose one of the options. I haven't even seen the app at this point, how am I supposed to decide if I want a subscription? The same window also says that my subscription expired on the 1st of January of the year 1... If I ignore that window and find my way to the menu item "New Window", I'm back to the welcome screen where I'm forced to sign up (and again both options lead to crashes). I am a developer myself, I do understand that making an app is hard, but this experience is unacceptable. After spending 15 minutes in the app, I still haven't been able to see the app working. I am happy to update my review when the developer fixes the app and allows me to try it out. ### 1/5 — Very Buggy Release *2021-10-28, version 2.5.0* Elytra crashed three times, on first use. Wasted my money on the lifetime premium and regret it deeply. Wouldn’t even sync with my iPhone or iPad. ### 1/5 — Elytra is a Broken App Charging Premium Prices for No Good Reason *2026-03-03, version 2026.2.0* Save yourself $55 and get an RSS feed reader that actually works. I recommend NetNewsWire which is free or News Explorer which is a modest $5. Both Sync across your iCloud seamlessly. Elytra is a broken app which cannot handle its own basic intended functionality. I will add an RSS feed, refresh to Sync, and then the RSS feed will disappear. Articles won’t download correctly it only downloads the title, author, and thumbnail. That’s if anything downloads at all. Syncing across iPad and iPhone simply does not work, period. I emailed the developer and they were not helpful. I regret buying the Lifetime, it is simply wrong to charge $55 for an app like this that does not work. I would give this 0 stars if I could. App doesn't import an OPML file which is said it does in their FAQ but completely ignores any OPML files in finder. I manually added an RSS feed but it doesn't appear on the app except in the Feeds view, so cannot move it to a folder or do anything with it. I don't have time/energy to send over what was requested, but I wouldn't want to hurt you app rating, either. So I have updated my rating to 5. Nevertheless, I do suggest that please install the app on a fresh machine (mine M1) and see that your subscription popup is broken.( it still says: subscription expired on a "weird" date in spite of the fact that I installed it the first time). PREVIOUS: I didn't get a chance to see how it looks or works. As soon as I am done registering, the subscription appears that reads my subscription expired on 1 Jan-1 at 5:53:28 AM. @Nikhil, I want to use the app, but you need to fix it and I'll update my review.
