Also needs a way to create an event from a date in emails ### 3/5 — Problems with office365 ‘Outlook’ calendar *2026-04-12, version 10.4.5267* I’m a big fan of the emClient apps. However, since moving my email, calendars and contacts from iCloud to an Office365 ‘Outlook’ account the calendars no longer get synced fully. This is an iOS and a Windows desktop problem. I suspect Microsoft’s eternal changing of their protocols is to blame, but emClient needs to keep up. I had to move to the Outlook apps. No choice. It’s a shame. ### 3/5 — Goodbye Outlook *2026-03-28, version 10.4.5188* After an increasing number of very serious problems with Outlook caused by MicroSlop, I’ve dumped it as the problems have become intolerable. I did quite a bit of research and really like the desktop version of eM Client. This iPhone version is OK except that it is extremely slow! Why? I have no idea. Surely, something must be done fix it. If not, I’ll be forced to find another client to use with my email on my iPhone. I hope not so please fix this! ### 2/5 — Extremely slow *2026-03-22, version 10.4.4899* Extremely slow in updating inboxes. Averages between 5-10 minutes, which makes it unreliable. It has been this way for a long time. Yet, their routine updates don't address this problem which many users have noted through reviews for a very long time. ### 4/5 — Excellent client; lacks appearance customization *2026-03-16, version 10.4.4899* This has quickly become my preferred client for both iOS and desktop. Editing HTML directly in composition and signature editing makes it really easy to write a custom signature that can be copied across devices. All I ask is for this app to fully leverage OLED displays. The gray background is very stale, and really just decreases contrast while increasing power draw. ### 4/5 — Falls a bit short due to lack of month to month calendar scrolling. *2026-03-11, version 10.4.4899* Was prepared to love this app after using desktop version. Many great features. No month to month scrolling on the calendar was the deal killer for me. Will be using this only for my non primary account. ### 3/5 — Slow and no push notifications *2026-02-27, version 10.4.4769* The client is nice and has a much needed feature with M365 accounts (delegate access). However, it is super slow and push notifications never come thru. It still has a way to go. ### 4/5 — Pretty good now, but .. *2026-02-22, version 10.4.4769* The app is still painfully slow on actually downloading messages - especially, it seems, from gmail, when compared to the desktop version. The background update also seems flawed; I’ve got the client installed on desktop, iPhone, and iPad, and if I collect and read (imap) messages on the desktop, the ‘unread’ indicators don’t update, nor, if I read them on the iPad, does the iPhone update .. until the app itself is opened. The desktop version appears to be ok. ### 3/5 — Unreliable *2026-02-14* Mail not current and takes up to 10 minutes to sync. Desktop is much better. ### 2/5 — Super slow with Google Workspace accounts *2026-02-08, version 10.4.4618* I switched to em Client from Spark in the hope of faster search performance when looking for specific messages in my Google Workspace accounts. I’ve been sorely disappointed and won’t be renewing my subscription. EM Client is not just slow at search; it fails altogether to find messages that are quickly surfaced by a search in Apple’s free Mail app. Worse, eM Client now takes minutes just to update my inbox when I open the app. That effectively makes it unusable. This app’s developers should stop larding it up with niche features and optimize it for speed, because it is SSLLOOOOWW! ### 2/5 — Accounts quit Syncing *2026-01-27, version 10.4.4205* I’ve been a user and big fan of the desktop version of this product. This iOS version looks and functions just like the desktop with one BIG exception. Works great for a few days and then quits syncing. Ironically, I still get push notifications like it knows there are new emails, but you are unable to see or view them. Kind of a big problem for an email client… ### 2/5 — Wasn’t able to get it working *2026-01-16, version 10.4.4205* Couldn’t get my account working (IMAP), never managed to get it synced after retrying four or so times in case it was an issue with my inputs. By the end I’m not sure if that is a bad thing or not, the app feels clunky. Mail on primary and secondary accounts only displays one mail item. Incredibly, the same mail item. I reinstalled it…worked normally for two days, then the same problem. It’s serious and it’s unusable in its current form. ### 1/5 — Great features but app is unreliable and unusable *2026-08-19, version 10.5.387* I've used em client on Windows since it began and pay for it. Great features and design. It is my favorite desktop email client by far. It is also quite good on Android. The iOS implementation which I run in iPad mini with iOS 26.6 is unusable. It freezes. It doesn't send emails reliably. It takes forever to download emails. It's formatting goes weird, with message headers in the account view inexplicably indented at random. I need a reliable, predictable, stable email client for my work. I'm very saddened that I have to go back to the inferior Gmail app. If anyone reads this, I suggest also that you find a way to implement the official Gmail API like Wundermail does. It will affect problems to do with aliases (across the desktop Windows environment too). Thanks to the team at em client, and I hope that you are able to get the iOS version to the same excellent standard of your Windows client. ### 1/5 — Come on *2026-08-18, version 10.5.387* There is no reason - none whatsoever - for A: inbox refreshes to take such a pathetically long time; and B: basic search to take such a pathetically long time. I have seen a number of “responses” from devs saying that it’s being worked on, but as of now that just seems to be a balloon full of air instead of anything of substance. ### 1/5 — No useful calendar *2026-08-07, version 10.5.387* I gave it a one star review to try to get the attention of the developers because they don’t seem to get it. If we get a calendar link in an email, we can only put it in a stupid local Calendar on that device. What use is that? And their share option doesn’t go to Calendar, as any competent programmer would do. Useless!! ### 1/5 — No Customer Service *2026-04-19, version 10.4.5357* I wanted to love this email client. I was looking for a simple to use program with a simple, modern appearance. It had several other features that I wanted that my other email client was lacking. I simply could not get my outgoing mail (SMTP) set up to work. I spent over a solid days work researching things, ChatGPT and close to 3 hours in 3 separate calls seeking help from my internet provider to no avail. That's fine. Things sometimes happen. The problem is is that this company has little to no direct customer support. No phone number. No chat. There's only email and others have said that they either won't get back to you at all, or it takes forever. This program has turned out to be more aggravating than it's worth. ### 1/5 — Same as everyone else *2025-12-12, version 10.4.4187* The reason we use the desktop version is it allows users to sort by senders, subject, etc., for some reason when you move it to iOS and android you take all of that away making this a below average product to use. In answers to your question. Sure Nine by 9folders allows sorting. Why is it important on mobile devices? Sometimes very important email can unfortunately slip into junk folder. It’s MUCH easier to pull these out with sorting. I do a lot of my email reviews on my IPad, a mobile device. If I didn’t want to sort my email I’d just use GMail. Being like everyone else is not okay, be better ### 1/5 — Horrible *2025-12-06, version 10.4.4075* I mean, let’s just face it. This application is abysmal. It looks like garbage, refuses to open up a proper browser, forcing you to use THEIR pathetic browser , instead of doing things right. What a mess Do better ### 1/5 — Still glacially slow. *2025-12-05, version 10.4.4075* I very much like em client and use it on my Windows laptop. I particularly love the fact that Gmail labels, and I mostly use Gmail accounts, are listed against each email, just like the Gmail app does, and I like it better than the Gmail app itself. But on this iOS version, which has now been updated a few times recently, although push notifications do seem to work, the new mail badge count does not appear until I actually open em client - and then it takes the app minutes or worse to actually get the new mail despite the fact that I have background app refresh enabled for em client. This renders em client for iOS pretty useless as my primary email app and so I shall continue to use the Gmail app until this is fixed and leave em client as purely a backup. Hence one star rather than five stars for my rating. A pity, but maybe a future update may actually make it usable. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — so much better than the usual options *2026-08-25, version 10.5.430* gmail stalls out constantly. apple mail also bugs out all the time. but finally tried this one and what a breath of fresh air! it’s almost weird having a reliable email client :) ### 5/5 — Finally a better Mail client *2026-06-01, version 10.4.5360* so far the best proper email client I have come across for iOS. Previously I used K9 when I had Android. eM Client is as good as K9. I did some tests to verify that the IMAP & SMTP connections were sent from my IP address when using this client and these were, instead of being proxy through somebody else's service like so many other clients do. I can actually see the full source of the emails and head as I so wish. Push notifications don't work unless you use the push notification through their servers, but unfortunately this is only limitation of iOS. So far so good. ### 5/5 — An Amazing Email Client *2026-04-30, version 10.4.5360* This email program is the email program I've been looking for for years. It's clean and modern looking, full featured, and very easy to use. I love how easy it is to drag your emails wherever you need them from directly onto your desktop to placing them in whatever folders you have set up. This was a several step process with my old email program. If I had any complaints at all is that with no contact number or chat option, customer service is a little hard to come by. The only option you have as a free customer is through email, but they have proven to be pretty responsive. I'm thrilled to have stumbled across this email client. It's exactly what I've been looking for and I'm really happy I found it. ### 5/5 — Quality *2026-03-27, version 10.4.5188* Switched to eM Client after having issues with my previous mail client that synced data to their cloud. Was looking for something simple without relying on a third party connection. Using the eM iOS app and windows all now. The QR code import is a super convenient feature. iOS version is free, but I bought a lifetime license for windows app the same day. The good reviews online about eM Client are accurate. ### 5/5 — Really impressive mail client *2026-03-26, version 10.4.4899* I use the outlook office 365 mail app on my laptop and desktop. Microsoft is pushing to use the new Outlook which is terrible. Missing many features. And the Outlook classic is fine. But has limitations. For me I have test seed accounts and Outlook crashes. So use eM client for my seed accounts. My company uses Rackspace for email and eM client is awesome for use on iPad for my work account. I like the native mail app for iPhone. Not for iPad. eM client to the rescue for a nice free iPad mail app. I pay em client for my laptop and desktop. It’s great. I am just returning after trying 4 others and thinking, “I’m going to give that other one another try.” This app really checks all the boxes: easy searching, ability to not sort by conversation but view the conversation easily once I open the email, snippets, templates, signatures, calendar, notes…..etc. It really has come a long way and looks like the one I am keeping. It is a total replacement for the outlook iOS app it can do contact editing notes and much more. Also it has the ability to zoom text only inside the app so you do not need to use the iOS app control panel to zoom in only for this app only. It has the same type of integration for Gmail and others. Another positive in my opinion is that it is not loaded I junk you’re not forced to use AI. Ai isn’t popping up all over the place that is a big plus In my opinion. All the other mail programs force AI into the mailbox into the contact selection.
