Android版のバックアップを利用してのアカウント復元も出来ない。
UIも別物で操作体型が違う。

Aquamail isr ein sehr schönes Programm mit großem Funktionsumfang.
Doch ein Auto das nicht fährt, ist nicht wirklich ein Auto.
Aquamail hat bei mir einige Emails als „versendet“ gemeldet, das jedoch nicht getan und dafür die Nachricht komplett verschwinden lassen. Das kam erst nach und nach ans Licht.
Somit leider „nicht brauchbar“.

**Developer response:** Hello vanWengade. If Aqua Mail showed a message as sent but it is missing, the first things to check are the Outbox in Aqua Mail and the Sent folder in the provider’s webmail. If the message is not in webmail Sent, then it most likely was not accepted by the SMTP server, or the account’s sent-copy mapping is wrong.

Please check the account’s outgoing settings in Aqua Mail and confirm the correct SMTP server, port, security, and login are being used. Also check that the Sent folder is correctly assigned for that account. If this is a POP3 account, sent messages are not synced from the server the same way as IMAP, so behavior can differ. For more support, please contact us at support@aqua-mail.com

К большому сожалению приложение не работает нормально с почтовыми ящиками Yandex.ru и mail.ru.
На иконке приложения, при получении новых писем, не появляется счетчик непрочитанных писем. Это счетчик появится если открыть приложение, увидеть, что есть непрочитанные письма, а потом свернуть приложение. От аккаунта mail.ru нет даже уведомлений о получении новых писем. Нужно открыть приложение и потом увидеть, что эти письма есть. Про другие, более мелкие проблемы и писать не буду.

I have used Aqua Mail Pro for about 15 years give or take. I recently made the mistake of switching from Android to IPhone. I am now forced to repurchase. And of course now, it’s a yearly subscription. When I purchased mine way back, it was a “ONE TIME” purchase. Very disappointed!

This app has some promise for super basic use, but for business use on Microsoft 365 it would be best to search elsewhere. I am most distressed because the help files are all out of date and seemed to mention features that no longer exist.

I'll pay the $30 if this ever catches up to the Android version but this is not even close.   Meanwhile the ads are rediculously intrusive.  Is this even the same developer??

Update:  I checked in again just because I was a huge fan of the android version, but still no multi-level swipe.  Deal killer.  What's with them?  Can that really be so hard??

### 1/5 — iOS Version is Nigh on Rubbish Compared to to the Android Version.

I have been using the Android version for +/– 15 years and from day 1, I have found nothing to surpass it for the dozens and dozens of default choices and options as a sight impaired user.

As the life of Android tablets is very limited – replacements have cost me a mint over the years so I succumed to pressure encouraging me to buy an iPad for it’s accessibility and longevity advantages.

I was over the moon to find AquaMail is available in an iOS version but utterly shocked to find out how limited it is and not at all ‘user friendly’ for my needs so I hardly use it, reverting to the tablet side of my ASUS Flip / 2 in 1 Chromebook.

I rate the Android version 20* plus  – absolutely superb and give recognition to the iOS version with a 1* for its minimalistic features.

I am not ashamed to put my name against my honest experience by submitting this review.

Unter iPadOS 18.6 und 18.7 ist es nicht möglich, den Text einer Signatur farbig zu formatieren. Egal, welche Farbe man wählt, sie wird nicht angenommen. Das ist einfach lächerlich. Und was das Design der App und die Darstellung der Mails angeht, bleibt Aqua Mail weit hinter der Andriod App und Konkurrenten wie Spark oder AirMail zurück.

It’s related to how iPadOS currently handles HTML formatting inside certain editors, which prevents custom colors from being applied correctly in Aqua Mail. Our team is aware of this, and we’re reviewing possible ways to improve compatibility, but at this time, we can’t confirm when a fix or enhancement will be released, as there are larger development priorities underway.

As for the design and presentation differences between the iOS and Android versions, you’re absolutely right that the Android app is more feature-rich and customizable. Aqua Mail originally started on Android, and our goal now is to bring the iOS version closer in both look and functionality over time. Aqua Mail was the default Mail app on my Android. I absolutely loved it. So after moving to iOS I downloaded this email client immediately. Sadly, the iOS version is lacking. 

The Smart Mailbox on Android is customizable which was very nice. On iOS it's just an "All inbox" with no way to customize it.

Also, the Smart Mailbox on Android showed the account names which was extremely helpful. Having a bubble with just one letter isn't useful if two accounts start with the same letter. 

Please fix the Smart Mailbox to make it the same as the Android version. I'll gladly pay for the subscription if those features can be brought to the iOS version.

Wozu einen Aquamail-Account erstellen, wenn ich die App auf jedem Gerät trotzdem manuell einrichten muss? Wieso kann ich mich nicht einfach einloggen und alle Postfächer sind synchron? Direkt wieder gelöscht.

The Aqua Mail account is mainly for license/subscription management, not for storing or syncing your email account settings across devices.

For privacy and security, Aqua Mail does not store your mailbox passwords, OAuth tokens, or full account configurations on our servers, so each device has to be set up separately or restored from a local backup.

We understand that automatic device-to-device setup would be useful, and your feedback is noted.

Ich nutzte Aquamail unter Android viele Jahre sehr gerne. 
Nach einem Wechsel auf Apple bin ich nun sehr enttäuscht. Nicht nur, dass die Funktionalität hier viel geringer ausfällt (damit hätte ich sogar noch Leben können. Auch mit der Tatsache, dass ich nun jährlich 29 € zahlen soll ist nichtmal mein Problem), auch sind die Fehler leider zu umfangreich. 
Ständig werden Konten „vergessen“ (da kommt bei einer 2-Faktor-Authentifizierung richtig Freude auf). Über neue Mails wird mannicht benachrichtigt - man muss die App aktiv öffnen und selber nachsehen. Die Ladezeiten sind unglaublich lang. Auch „Löschen“ von Mails braucht eine ganze Weile, bis das mal an den Server durchgestellt ist und man die App schließen kann. 
Seit dem vorletzten Update kann mein Kauf (oder besser „Abo“) nicht wieder hergestellt werden. 
Jetzt ist mir die Lust vergangen. Abo ist gekündigt und nun nutze ich die App des Mailanbieters. Die ist zwar nicht so schön, aber funktioniert wenigstens. 
Und nein, ich will dem Support keine Nachricht schreiben. Ich will mich überhaupt nicht damit beschäftigen. Bei einem solchen Abo (für das ich gerne bereit bin zu bezahlen) erwarte ich einfach, dass es funktioniert. 
Schade - war mal richtig schön mit Aquamail.

For iOS specifically, “accounts forgotten” and missing notifications are usually related to OAuth/sign-in token refresh and iOS background/push settings expiring or being restricted. Long loading and slow delete can also happen when background refresh and push are limited.

If you ever want to double-check without a full support conversation, please verify these basics: iOS Settings > Notifications for Aqua Mail are enabled, iOS Settings > General > Background App Refresh is enabled for Aqua Mail, and in Aqua Mail try Restore Purchases from the subscription screen (so the annual purchase reconnects to your Apple account).

We’re also taking your bug report seriously. Thank you for sharing this, even though it didn’t meet your expectations.

Habe diese App vor zig Jahren für 3,99€ einmalig auf Android gekauft. Da ist das App wirklich super, jetzt habe ich mir das App bei Apple für 20€ im Jahr gekauft und leider muss ich feststellen das es auf IOS einfach nur schlecht ist. Es aktualisiert nicht automatisch muss jedes mal App starten das Emails geladen werden. Nachdem ich diese gelöscht habe zeigt mir App immer noch Benachrichtigung Marken an. Das ganze App läuft unruhig. Instaliert auf IPhone 17 Pro

This app still hasn’t been removed why it’s the most annoying email app. I would use this if they would just fix all the problems this app has. They need to fix not getting notifications from the iPhone to the smart watch. Plus change the price for the premium version it’s just too expensive to buy especially with all these high prices nowadays.

This app is *so* good on Android that I keep trying it under iOS, hoping. But alas, no.
Just tried again after months away, used the same settings as in Apple’ Mail client yet won’t even setup my IMAP account (“Unstable server connection”, whatever that means). I used the option to send them a log (multiple times) so hopefully they will take a look and figure it out (also hopefully they use some other channel other than their own email to get the log sent ’cause the email won’t set up in the first place).

First off, it's crazy expensive. I have no idea how they can justify the extremely high price to use the app, but I did pay for one year. Now based on my experience, and having previously used the Android version for more than 10 years, I will not be renewing. This version does not compare. I already feel totally ripped off, and I only got a one year license. Terrible.

This was my way to go app for many years as an Android user and I remember it had so many customizable settings that why I loved it, here we are a few years later on iOS where you can barely move couple settings plus I had the life time subscription and now it costs $100?!

I’m using SSH to tunnel ports 25 & 143 to a remote server. It took about 30 sec to set this email client up to localhost:65143 & localhost:65025, authenticate, and view my mail. Can’t make it any simpler.

The email app works pretty fluidly with no major interruptions. Hoping there will be an update to correct the military time to regular time etc…  and additional sound tones.  Those 2 are my only minor issues but everything else is pretty solid!

Aqua Mail is a great job of managing many inboxes and ways to sort through all the volume to get to the important stuff with smart folders, etc. Having said that I do prefer the android version much more because you get a better side-by-side view.
