More like slow as molasses. *2026-08-21, version 26.7.0* The app listing saying speed and faster than Gmail. This is the slowest mail app I’ve ever used. I get notified of emails and when I open Edison it takes at least 45 seconds to a minute for the email to appear. No amount of refreshing or force closing the app gets the emails to appear. ### 2/5 — Extremely Slow With Gmail Accounts *2026-08-20, version 26.7.0* For a while, Edison Mail worked great for me, but I think a recent update caused it to significantly slow down when fetching mail from my Gmail account. Sometimes I would receive a notification of a new email from Edison and it would take over an hour for the message to actually appear in my inbox through the app. While I love the client, it is unusable for verification links or emails I need to respond to quickly. ### 3/5 — Lots of potential *2026-08-18, version 26.7.0* There’s a lot of potential with this app. I especially like the Focused and Other categories but it’s essentially useless because you can’t have those categories show you only unread emails. Without that option it’s all but useless to me. Why would I want to focus on already read emails? I also wish the categories for subscriptions, coupons etc could be moved right to the top so I can quickly switch between those. Having the email addresses up top and the categories so low down makes zero sense as the entire point of having those is to be able to go right to the things I want to see first and filter out the rest. ### 2/5 — App only works sporadically *2026-08-14, version 26.7.0* I’ve had this app for a few years and it worked fine. About a month ago, it hasn’t performed well. Sometimes it will download emails and other times, go days without downloading. My app is updated. I thought it might be my old phone and just picked up a new one this week. It downloaded my email the first time and now is back to only doing it when it wants. I’m looking for another app at this time. One thing, it keeps wanted me to buy the upgrade and maybe that’s the problem. Poor free version performance to convince you to upgrade. ### 2/5 — Used to be great now broken for hotmail *2026-08-02, version 26.7.0* Updated to latest version but still constantly disconnects from hotmail account. When I attempt to reconnect it I get an error saying failed to get user profile UPDATE Uninstalled and reinstalled per developer instructions and Hotmail bug is back. Can’t keep doing this on repeat. The Custom Mail Rules, available in the Mail+ upgrade, are excellent and very useful. Details: I had been using the free version for a year or so and was very happy with it. I had found it to be the best email App to deal with my multi email accounts. But, I recently started to suffer with a lot of spam and thought the Mail Rules available in the Mail+ upgrade would help in filtering the spam emails into a spam folder - and it now does do that - very well. During the setup of these Mail Rules I had some problems and contacted support who gave me thoughtful and respectful advice very quickly too, considering the time zone difference. They seemed committed to finding a solution for my problem, rather than dismissing it as just a user error. The problem was identified and I was able to resolve it. All in all I find the whole Edison Mail experience to be superb and thoroughly recommend it. How the f Apple even allow these kind of mf to access people emails. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2026-08-21, version 26.7.0* No matter how many times you mark something not spam it continues to be delivered to spam, no matter how many times you block someone in spam they are back the very next day, causing you to have over 500 spam emails in a day or 2, i’d give it zero stars if I could ### 1/5 — NOT WORKING NOT UPGRADING *2026-08-16, version 26.7.0* It is beyond frustrating to check emails with this app. I’ve kept it all these years because I like having multiple emails attached and the layout. But it isn’t worth it anymore. My emails haven’t been downloading, I should not have to sit there for 5min for one email to show the body text for. Ridiculous and I’m starting to think this was done on purpose to force upgrades. NOT upgrading, and deleting. Fix it, or delete. Not only is it very slow to load, but presently it indicates that it is through updating yet doesn’t retrieve recent emails on gmail. It shows the heading on emails, but can then take several minutes to load the contents. Frequently on emails from sbcglobal.net it says no content, but viewed on gmail, it shows an attached picture and text. I have used this app for quite a few years, I upgraded to the Edison Mail + and it’s no better. It slow most of the time, glitchy and non responsive when searching and trying to open a past email and constantly gives me alerts that I have email when I don’t.
