## What is Ember · A Soft Place?

Ember is a soft place for hard feelings.

When the feeling is hot, open the app. Ember offers one gentle, safe, small thing you can do right now. Tap for another. Swipe for another. Keep the one that fits and save it as a reminder. Close the app. No streaks. No logging. No hooks.

Every suggestion inside Ember is safe. None of them ask you to hurt anything or anyone, including yourself. None of them ask you to yell or be loud. They are quiet, grounded, physical, breath based, and kind. Some are DBT inspired. Some are ACT inspired. All of them are things a real person can actually do in five minutes.

Ember is for the moment when the feeling is big and you do not want to take it out on the people you love. It is for hypervigilance, irritability, the old hurt that is suddenly loud again, the wave that came in out of nowhere. You are not broken for having it. You are a person with a nervous system, and nervous systems need somewhere to put the heat.

Ember is free. There is no tip jar. There is no paywall. There is no account. Nothing is collected about you. You do not need to sign in. You do not need to come back tomorrow. Ember is here when you need it.

Ember is not therapy and it is not a crisis line. If you need either, the Settings screen has real numbers for real humans who pick up.

A small new section in Settings called "Free, with gratitude." Ember stays free, always, with no tip jar inside the app. If you'd like to express gratitude for Ember being here on a hard day, two organizations I love (CASA Pinellas and NAMI) are now one tap away. Every dollar goes directly to them.
