I have not tried the app because you require me to create an account to enable Bluetooth control of the fireplace. That is an idiotic requirement and no one should be expected to allow you to collect information on them in order to enable an entirely local connection to the fire place. One of the reasons we chose this fireplace was that it offered Bluetooth control. However after turning off and closing the app after the initial use I have not been able to use it again. We use our fireplace as a main source of heat because we live where the winters are pretty mild. However, you do need heat most mornings. This app usually works even from the next room. So I am able to turn on the fireplace without getting out of bed. Nice! I hope someday that you will be able to get the bugs out and make it work perfectly. And all I can say to others, is don’t give up. The only way to get it back is to unplug and re plug in the fireplace. Then the phone/ tablet finds the fireplace, but BT is lost within a few hours again.
