### 2/5 — Doesn’t work well at all.

*2026-09-01, version 4.5.10*

I have had an account /mug for several years. Too often I am automatically logged out and my account is lost. The app doesn’t remember me. Re log in, no mug saved. Try to pair the mug, pairs but then the app just locks up. Cannot interact with the mug or set the heat temp. Pointless. I’ll just go get a normal ceramic mug out of the cabinet. Stupid app and you’ve made it too complicated. I just want to keep my coffee warm. You seem more interested in selling me another mug . Not going to happen like this.

### 1/5 — New app version bricks mug

*2026-08-24, version 4.5.9*

Since the app updated itself, the mug will not pair to the app. The app sees the mug but when I click to confirm it just sits spinning in an infinite loop. So now the mug doesn’t heat up and I have 100 dollar coffee cup.

### 1/5 — $179.00 tumbler

*2026-08-21, version 4.5.9*

$179 tumbler that will not pair. I’ve tried everything. Absolute trash app.

### 2/5 — Ehh….

*2026-08-20, version 4.5.9*

Yeah, the app is great in theory, but in practice? Not so much. It’s a constant battle of restarting the app 3-5 times to even turn the warming feature on, and that’s assuming it even recognizes there’s liquid in the mug. There’s potential, but the execution is poor.

### 1/5 — I’m done with Ember

*2026-08-17, version 4.5.9*

The software & app are very unreliable. They work the way you expect them to maybe 20% of the time. For $150, that is unacceptable in my opinion.

When it works like it should, it’s great. It’s so quirky though, you never know what you’re going to get day to day, even if you charge it the night before. There are connectivity issues too that make heating delayed all the time.

The Charging plate & mug are well made though. The whole setup is incredibly poor, however, and a very poor value overall. It used to be good, but it has been awful the last 18 months. Buyer beware!

### 2/5 — Great idea but…

*2026-08-16, version 4.5.9*

This product is awesome when it works. I’ve needed a replacement charging plate. Now my original mug refuses to pair with the app/phone. I’m unable to confirm it’s charging either. The light doesn’t go to green as it should. A mug held in reserve & never used charges & pairs but doesn’t heat the coffee. For as expensive as this product is, the reliability factor is a fail. And like every other company, talking to a person is impossible.

### 3/5 — Decent, but overpriced as a result

*2026-08-15, version 4.5.9*

The software & app are inconsistent. They work the way you expect them to maybe 70% of the time. For $150, that is unacceptable in my opinion.

When it works like it should, it’s great. It’s so quirky though, you never know what you’re going to get day to day, even if you charge it the night before. There are connectivity issues too making heating delayed.

The Charging plate & mug are well made though. The mug holds a charge for a solid amount of time.

### 1/5 — Cant pair bluetooth

*2026-08-12, version 4.5.9*

Cant pair mug- tried all the support suggestions. Seems to be an app issue- please fix the app.

### 1/5 — The app is a scam.

*2026-08-12, version 4.5.9*

Cannot connect mugs to app and my preset temperatures lost. This update does not fix it.

### 1/5 — Won’t pair anymore.

*2026-08-11, version 4.5.9*

Have used numerous times since purchasing. All of a sudden will not connect to Bluetooth. Can’t even use anymore

### 1/5 — Can’t pair with bottle

*2026-08-09, version 4.5.9*

Fix the app

### 1/5 — Can’t pair my mug to the app

*2026-08-06, version 4.5.9*

Mug is useless if I can’t pair it. Please fix soon

### 2/5 — App no longer connects

*2026-08-05, version 4.5.9*

Just like many others, my app will no longer connect to the one mug that will actually pair with it once it pairs up. I’m unable to even pair my second mug any longer. Wish I could roll back the update!!

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-08-05, version 4.5.9*

Most recent update makes the app unusable. You send an email to yourself to create an account but when you click into the email it routes you back to creating an account again. You try to pair the bluetooth and it finds the mug but then doesn’t actually connect.

### 2/5 — Poor value overall

*2026-08-05, version 4.5.9*

The software & app are terrible. They work the way you expect them to maybe 50% of the time. For $150 this is a marginal product due to its poor consistency.

When it works like it should, it’s great. It’s so quirky though, you never know what you’re going to get day to day, which is unacceptable for a product at this price point. That’s on a full charge too.

The Charging plate & mug are well made.

### 1/5 — New upgrade is a downgrade

*2026-08-04, version 4.5.9*

Since updating to newest version of the app my cup keeps disconnecting from the app. Don’t recommend this product anymore, they have gone backwards

### 2/5 — Bloated

*2026-08-04, version 4.5.9*

All I’d want from the app is a way to monitor and set my preferred temp. So why is the app bloated with stuff I don’t care about and why is Ember asking me to sign in? For what reason should I need an account for my heated mug?

### 2/5 — Good product, horrible app

*2026-07-31, version 4.5.9*

The controls for the mug are not intuitive at all, and there is zero instruction on how anything works. Really poor app design.

### 1/5 — Unable to Pair

*2026-07-30, version 4.5.9*

Apple phone 16 with current Ember app and Ember mug, absolutely unable to pair despite numerous attempts. Broken software? Not worth your money if unable to get it to function.

### 1/5 — Stopped working

*2026-07-30, version 4.5.9*

Used to be fine now I need to repair every time I want a drink and all tabs and menus say there is an error. Looking at the long list of negative reviews I’m guessing I’m not alone.

These things only work when they’re convenient. The second you give the public pause to think about whether they need it you’re toast. No more smart things!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Never works

*2026-09-02, version 4.5.10*

Why does this stupid mug need an app. Put the controls DIRECTLY on the mug! The app NEVER WORKS!!

### 1/5 — PLEASE FIX THIS SOON！ Asking to reconnect after connecting

*2026-08-31, version 4.5.9*

It’s asking me to connect to my mug after no using it for a while. I did the reconnect, and the device was not list under. I did this whole reconnecting many times. Tried on different accounts. Still not working.

If you cannot fix the Bluetooth connection, at least provide some physical buttons to adjust the mug temperature, do it doesn’t become useless.

### 1/5 — stopped pairing

*2026-08-29, version 4.5.9*

I’ve had Ember mugs for about five years now, but for the first time, over the last few months, the app has stopped pairing. It’s pretty clear from all the comments that I’m not the only person in this situation, and I am not sure why they haven’t fixed it.

### 1/5 — App is kicking me out

*2026-08-28, version 4.5.9*

I have had my mug ages and now it’s asking me to set up from scratch and keeps resending a link

### 1/5 — Broken

*2026-08-27, version 4.5.9*

App has been broken and non functional for quite a while. All my Ember mugs were unpaired and the app can't pair them again. Makes the app useless.

### 1/5 — So disappointing

*2026-08-27, version 4.5.9*

I used to love Ember products. But the last two I have had, both mugs, just stop working. I got a new one and after about three months or so, I started having difficulty pairing. It required me to pair every morning. Now it won’t pair at all. I don’t have time to try to figure this out every morning when I sit down to work. Unless something magical happens, I’m done with Ember and will start looking for other options.

### 1/5 — Total ripoff

*2026-08-27, version 4.5.9*

For $150, this product is a total scam.

It will keep your coffee barely look warm, but if you like it hot, you need to keep fidgeting with the app, (opening it) to get it to the temperature you want, then once you return to doing other things on your phone, the temp will drop again. It also struggles with a full mug.

It’s pure folly & a very dreary experience. Overall, Ember in its current state is a total scam. It’s pretty incredible they can get away selling such a faulty product.

### 1/5 — Stopped Working

*2026-08-25, version 4.5.9*

App stopped working after a while. Won’t connect to my iPhone anymore. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, went through all the trouble shooting steps and nothing works.

### 1/5 — Terrible App, Terrible Customer Service

*2026-08-25, version 4.5.9*

I’ve had my Ember Mug II for 1 1/2 yrs. The app has always been spotty, but even customer service admitted yesterday they were aware of newer issues relative to the app that haven’t been addressed yet. I suspect this is what they’ve been told to tell consumers, but I wouldn’t expect anything released “very soon” as they’ve mentioned. That said, customer service has always known they have a glitchy mug/app situation on their hands (look at their mug reviews), so you’d think they would be more accommodating, but you can easily spend entirely too much time attempting to reach them and provide information only to end up with vague answers and already-widely published “deals” for their loyal customers (translation: no special deal). For a $150 mug, the app and customer service is sub-par at best. Oh, and as soon as you point out that they aren’t actually offering them anything special as a remedy… they stop communicating.

### 1/5 — New update = no use

*2026-08-24, version 4.5.9*

Tried opening the app- required a re login which took about 10 times and then my mug wasn’t even in my account anymore. Fine- so I try to re- pair it and it says mug confirmed but the mug doesn’t show up. Seems many people are facing these issues but no one is getting resolve. Very expensive products but now at to use the app?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — :)

*2026-07-10, version 4.5.9*

It works

### 5/5 — Can’t pair

*2026-05-17, version 4.5.8*

I have 2 mugs and 1 travel mug. I removed them from my phone’s bluetooth settings, reset all of them and tried to pair several times after the last update. None of them will pair. Fix this and I will change the rating. These mugs are too expensive to have these kinds of issues.

### 5/5 — Hard to believe how bad this app is

*2026-05-13, version 4.5.8*

This app is actually such an insult to the customer it’s hard to believe this product line is still going.

### 5/5 — Mug 5 stars, Charger 3.5, app ?

*2026-03-11, version 4.5.8*

Received my first Ember mug as a present from my son’s fiance (now spouse) several years ago. I’ve named the mug BLACK GOLD 😊

That mug is still going strong. I bought a second mug directly from Ember when the sage green came out. I’ve named it SOYLENT GREEN 😇 It’s also still going strong.

Charger bases are a different issue! I’d bought an extra base for when I only had one mug. One stayed on the kitchen counter, the other by my recliner. But before too long one failed- the spring on one of the contacts stopped working.

Since then I’ve gone through two replacements. And it appears that SOYLENT GREEN’s base is having the same issue.

As to the app? For about the past three weeks it has been intermittently failing to connect and/or showing erroneous charge level. Not sure if this is a result of iOS updates, app updates, or both.

### 5/5 — BROKEN

*2026-03-01, version 4.5.8*

App pushed an update now my mug is unpaired. When I try to pair it connects and says Mug found! but then closing the splash screen the mug is not there so I can longer control it. Stupid.

### 5/5 — Cool

*2026-02-26, version 4.5.8*

This is great

### 5/5 — 竟然更新了，是好事

*2026-02-23, version 4.5.8*

希望越来越好

### 5/5 — Works great now

*2026-02-13, version 4.5.7*

They must have updated the software, because it works great now. The new charging plates are built much better than the old ones, & the mugs work really well too. Overall, it makes drinking coffee very enjoyable by reliably keeping your coffee at the temperature you want.

### 5/5 — Worthless

*2026-02-12, version 4.5.7*

The Ember mug was the best gift I’ve ever received. I loved this product so much! However, it has been rendered absolutely useless by their app. After using it for over a year with no issues. All of a sudden, there’s absolutely no connectivity with the app. I’ve tried every possible fix, and even purchased a new charger. The only issue is with this garbage app. Sadly, I feel like this company is too far gone for redemption.

### 5/5 — Good App

*2026-01-02, version 4.5.7*

I use this for my Ember 2 mug. It connected easily, and worked right away. No issues.
