But please give me the option to turn off sounds for non life threatening events without turning the sound off for everything. ### 2/5 — Long duration emergencies are a problem *2026-06-29, version 5.2.1* The issue with long duration emergencies is that there is no way to acknowledge and stop the notifications for these. For example, we are under an extreme heat warning and it keeps sending me alerts every few minutes, sometimes for days. It’s become “cry wolf” and I am just ignoring all notifications from this app and ready to turn them ALL off because it’s unnecessary to keep notifying me. However, we’ve noticed in the last couple of months we no longer receive any alerts for severe weather. All settings remain turned on and unchanged, it appears to be some sort of bug within the app. All 5 members of my family are having this issue. ### 1/5 — Failed during tornado warning *2026-04-27, version 5.2.0* I live in Iowa, which is certainly in tornado country and two days ago we were under an active tornado warning, and the Red Cross Emergency app sat quiet, and the warning never was reported by the app. That’s a serious failure that needs to be investigated.
