## What is Emery?

Emery is the guilt-free daily planner. Every morning starts fresh.

No red overdue badges. No broken streaks. No "you completed 47% of your tasks" making you feel like you failed. Open the app, see today, sort in five minutes, work.

Miss a day? Miss a week? Come back and the app is still ready. Three empty buckets. No judgment.

And it won't become another dead app on your phone. We use Emery every morning and answer every support email ourselves. It's been in active development for years – not built over a weekend and abandoned.

The 3-Bucket System
Every morning, sort your tasks into three groups:
– Fires – will cause real problems if you skip them today
– Growth – moves your career, business, or goals forward
– Extras – helpful but not critical

Fires first. Then protect time for Growth. Extras fill the gaps.
The whole sort takes about 5 minutes. You start your day with clarity – not a 30-item list and zero direction.

Time Blocking
Drag and drop tasks onto your calendar to protect your time:
– Block time for Fires so they get done
– Reserve focused hours for Growth work
– Fit Extras into the gaps

Sort Your Meetings Too
Sync your Google or Outlook calendar and apply the same three buckets to meetings. See which ones move things forward – and which ones just fill your calendar.

Calendar Sync
– Google Calendar and Outlook support
– Connect multiple calendars in one view
– Add private notes to meetings

Notes and Projects
– Capture notes and ideas anytime
– Organize tasks and notes by project
– Keep meeting context in one place

Who It's For

Emery is for people who own their schedule – managers, solopreneurs, freelancers, anyone who decides what to work on today.

It's not a project management tool. It's not an AI that schedules your day. And it's not another app that punishes you when you stop using it.

5 minutes every morning. A clean page. Real progress by the end of the day.

Sort your day. Start today.

### 1/5 — Hide the Ball

*2026-07-08*

I know there is a subscription but there is no pricing information. Had to go through a tedious quiz before being able to see the website. Then, after installing the app and answering questions I still don’t have any pricing information by the time they want my email address and other information. I opted out of this app at that point.

**Developer response:** Fair point, and thanks for spelling it out. The quiz is there to shape the plan around how you work, not to hide the price. Subscription prices are listed on our App Store page under In-App Purchases, and they appear in the app before any payment step.

### 3/5 — Feeling letdown

*2026-06-29*

I’ve had it for a few days and I feel pretty disappointed, unfortunately.

It is a bit buggy as my tasks don’t save to my calendar when I move them over. I am also stunned by the inability to link my iCal account. Also, is there not a way to undo if I accidentally click that I completed a task? The whole thing just feels incomplete and not as intuitive as what we’ve come to expect from most task apps these days.

This app has potential but I’m really regretting that I paid $20 for this. Since I paid for it, I will continue to use for a little longer to give it more of a shot and if I have a change in opinion, I’ll be sure to update.

**Developer response:** Hi, Den here, founder of Emery. Thank you for the detailed writeup. This is exactly the kind of feedback that helps.
On the calendar: your tasks are saving, but by default they go to Emery's internal calendar. To sync a task to your external calendar, select that calendar while dragging the task over. Fair point that this is easy to miss.
iCal isn't supported yet. It's high on our priority list and will be introduced soon.
On undo: many actions have it, but for task completions we decided against it, since the task stays visible and can be unticked in one tap. If there's a use case we're missing, email me directly at den@emeryplanner.com and I'll take a look.
Glad you're giving it more time. I hope the next updates earn that changed opinion.

### 4/5 — Wayyyy Too Expensive

*2026-06-18*

19.99$ a month?

**Developer response:** Hi, Den here, founder of Emery. Fair reaction. $19.99 is the monthly plan, the most flexible option but also the most expensive way to use Emery. If it clicks for you, the annual plan brings the cost way down, and there's a lifetime option if you never want to think about a subscription again. Either way, thanks for taking a look.

### 1/5 — Subscription 🤮🤮

*2025-08-11*

No access to calendar

Add lifetime 🔴

**Developer response:** Thank you for trying our product.

At the moment we don’t offer a free plan. Subscriptions help us stay independent, keep improving 2X Planner, and support users directly - without ads or selling data.

As for the lifetime option - we’ll think about it.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### v1.23.0 — 2026-08-08

Fixed language detection on first launch. If your device is set to a non-English language, Emery will now start in that language.

### v1.22.0 — 2026-08-06

- App tour. New to Emery? It walks you through the basics on first launch. Been here a while? You can replay it anytime from Settings.
- Better dates. Date formatting now follows your language and region the way it's supposed to. Long overdue for non-English locales.

### v1.21.0 — 2026-07-26

This one is mostly about speed and not getting in your way.

– Faster loading. If the app ever took a moment to open on your connection, that should be gone now. We reworked how it starts up.
– Basic offline support. Not full offline yet, but Emery opens instantly with whatever is already synced on your device, then catches up with the server in the background. A patchy signal no longer stands between you and your morning.
– Signing back in after signing out. If you signed out because you were in the wrong account, you could get stuck on the sign-in screen. Rare, but if it happened to you it locked you out of your day.
– Dragging events past 10pm. Time blocking or moving something late in the evening did not behave right. It does now.
– Better crash reporting. When something breaks we now hear about it instead of waiting to find out. Fewer bugs reaching you next time.

### v1.20.0 — 2026-07-23

Small fixes and improvements

### v1.19.0 — 2026-07-15

– Fixed keyboard toolbar icons blending into the bar. They're visible in both themes now.
– The rating prompt is quieter now.
