The app is more or less useless. There is never a realisable way to check your balance. Why do you have to put in your entire email ? Why can’t it remember your password? Why can’t it use Face ID? Demands 2 factor ID and then crashes so you have to start again. I have received a new plastic card, but the “activate plastic” function is unresponsive. Why can’t this piece of junk app be updated? Complete rubbish on every level. ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2025-02-09, version 1.1.1* This app is badly designed, not supported by the ‘developers’ and is absolutely rubbish. That a major NSW government agency uses it is an embarrassment . ### 1/5 — Terrible *2025-02-07, version 1.1.1* I don’t usually write reviews, but this is just beyond infuriating. The app doesn’t work half the time and it is difficult to speak with anyone who can help. Unable to save login details in iOS so have to go searching manually for the password every time I want to check my balance. It does the bare minimum, and not very well. ### 1/5 — Useless App *2024-07-26, version 1.0.22* This App does not work for me at all. The moment I sign in, it says ‘session has timed out’ and logs me out. I have tried on a number of occasions and the same thing happens. The website is almost as bad and the help page has very limited functionality. ### 1/5 — Useless App *2024-07-25, version 1.0.22* Never allows saving of credentials every time one has to enter email ID and password. The show and save is useless for NSW users. NSW health must get rid of this program or choose a partner who can provide a better app. ### 1/5 — Abysmal user experience *2024-07-24, version 1.0.22* The only real feature of this application is to check a meal and entertainment card balance. It requires the user to manually type in a full email address and password every time it is opened, and there is no option for the login details to be saved. Banking and financial applications don’t require the user to manually log in each time, so for the the user experience for a basic application like EML Benefits to be so inconvenient is inexplicable. The addition of a basic PIN or facial recognition login feature would resolve this issue, however the provider seem to be content to continue to collect fees for their “service” without investing anything to improve basic functionality. ### 1/5 — Outdated App *2024-07-20, version 1.0.22* The year is 2024. I’d be embarrassed if this was my company’s app. EML, can you possibly take heed of the appalling reviews and update to something like we all experience elsewhere? ### 1/5 — Worst app *2024-06-26, version 1.0.22* They’ve done nothing to improve their services or processes. I don’t write reviews, but this app is horrendous. The The creators obviously don’t care about the performance so it seems as though that all these complaints are either unread, ignored or laughed at. ### 1/5 — My first ever app review and it was horrible *2024-06-07, version 1.0.21* Never reviewed before, this is the first time. The app is poorly designed and functioned. Every time you will have to sign in a again after 10 minutes or so and refilling your log in details and password? Are you serious? This app literally looks like a poorly built web browser with minimum elements. It is tedious and out of date, having to entire my email every single login is ridiculous. Never remembers my email or password, nor lets me use Face ID to log in despite it prompting me to ‘set it up’ every time I login. Cant add card to apple wallet because the app can’t is play the card. Problem shooting steps take you in loop that leads nowhere. But it frequently asks me to enter log-in details even if I only logged in half an hour ago! Most of the time it doesn’t support face recognition. This makes logging in an absolute pain! Out of the many many apps I use, this one is so unhelpful and poorly designed! ### 1/5 — Balance is not updated *2025-05-22, version 1.1.5* I can’t log in with Face ID, and it’s not showing my updated balance. When I try to check transactions, it says “error not authorised” and “no transaction available.” When I click on settings, I get this message: “The operation couldn’t be completed. (EMLBenefit-S.HTTPErrorCode error 4.)” ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Finally *2024-09-19, version 1.1.0* Finally the app has face recognition! This is a massive improvement and makes checking your balance so much easier. ### 4/5 — Tolerable *2025-07-25, version 1.1.7* Does what it needs to do I was having difficulty with the app for a while as it made me log back in with 2FA every single time, but all of a sudden, it lets me log in with Face ID. It shows the remaining balance on the care and the transaction history, which is all I really need it to do. ### 4/5 — Good but needs a few things *2023-10-18, version 1.0.20* Good app, haven’t had any issues. It does need a quick sign in option like a code, Face ID, or a remember email and password option. It’s annoying having to sign in the long way every time. For the past fortnight, the app has failed to send me my two-factor authentication code. Presumably it has the phone number right, at least the first and last few, as I only see asterisks for the middle ones. And it has the email address right…. But here I sit, with the app timing out waiting for a code that just won’t come. ### 2/5 — Does what it’s supposed to do but needs heavy improvement *2024-06-19, version 1.0.21* It displays the balance which is what I believe the majority of us need out of the app. Either a FaceID login or at least a way to remember last login would be a monumental improvement for user experience!
