## What is Emmaus+?

"Jesus walks beside us on our journey."

Emmaus is a quiet companion for your life of faith. It remembers the Masses you attend, helps you capture what stayed with you in the moment, and keeps your weekly goal close — so you can look back and see how you've grown.

Automatic Mass detection Set your home church once and Emmaus notices when you arrive, starting a Mass session for you. Not at your usual parish? Start one manually with a tap.

Capture the moment Jot down reflections during Mass with an autosaving notes editor. In a hurry? Scan your handwritten notes with your camera and Emmaus turns them into text — right on your device.

Weekly goals Set a spiritual goal for the week and carry it with you. Mark it complete, move it forward, or revisit it later. Your goals can be tied to the Mass where they were inspired.

Look back anytime Browse your full attendance history, reread past notes, and see the goals that came from each Mass.

Private by design Everything you write lives only on your device. Emmaus has no accounts, no servers, no ads, and no tracking. Your reflections are yours alone.

Requires iOS 17 or later.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-08-23

Reminders, your way

• Sunday Mass reminder — if you missed Mass last Sunday, Emmaus checks in
on Saturday evening so the week doesn't get away from you.
• Arrival reminder — a gentle nudge to open Emmaus when you get to your
  home church.
• All reminders now live in one place. Settings has a new Notifications
section with a separate switch for each one, including Holy Day
  reminders.

More dependable Mass detection

• Fixed the Active Mass screen not opening when you arrived at church —
especially when Emmaus was closed, in the background, or opened after
  you were already there.
• Goals you jot down during Mass are now saved automatically when you
leave, even if Emmaus wasn't open.

### 1.1 — 2026-08-17

* Spanish language support Emmaus now automatically appears in Spanish when your device language is set to Spanish, and stays in English otherwise. This covers the whole app — tabs, screens, onboarding, Holy Day feast names, notifications, permission prompts, theme names, and the Support page. (Daily Readings still open the English USCCB site for now.)

* Themes + Supporter unlock Added a one-time $1 "Support Emmaus" purchase that unlocks two new appearance options — Dark mode and a Liturgical theme whose accent colors follow the Church season (violet for Advent/Lent, gold for Christmas/Easter, green for Ordinary Time, rose on Gaudete/Laetare Sundays). Choose your appearance from the new picker in Settings, and restore your purchase anytime. Light mode remains free.

* Daily Mass readings Added a Readings button on both the Active Mass and past Mass screens that opens the day's USCCB daily readings in an in-app browser.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-05
