## What is Emmaus?

We don't have Bible plans. The plan is the Bible.

Emmaus is a quiet room at sunrise for your soul. At the center of it is one plan: the whole Bible, one chapter a day, with a friend.

The Emmaus Journey
Proverbs first. Then the New Testament. Then the Old, front to back. You don't have to pick a plan or choose a start date—open the app and today's chapter is waiting. It's simply the next one you haven't read.

Nothing to fall behind on
There is no deadline and no such thing as behind. Miss a day, a week, a season—nothing is owed, nothing piles up, and nothing here counts what you missed. The next chapter is still just the next chapter.

Walk it with a friend
Invite one person to walk it with you, and you'll each see that the other read today. Not how far along they are—no position, nothing to compare. Just: they were on the road this morning too.

You also see the prayers each of you chooses to share, plus daily rhythms and current focus, and either of you can send an encouragement. Prayers start private. Discipling runs one way: you see their shared walk, not the reverse. Either of you can end it anytime.

Someone to ask
Reach Leviticus and you'll have questions. The Emmaus companion can explain what you just read—who's speaking, what it meant then, why it matters now. Talk or type—about the chapter, or anything else you're carrying. It remembers what you've shared, and you control what it keeps.

The rest of the day
- Morning brief: who you are in Christ before the day asks anything—a verse, a short devotional, a prayer prompt from your list, one small step. About 90 seconds.
- Nightly examen & weekly review: look back on your day with God and choose one focus for what's next.
- Prayer journal: keep your requests, and celebrate answered prayer.
- Scripture memory: hide the word in your heart with spaced-repetition review.
- Future Self: dream with God about who He's calling you to become.

Read it, or hear it
All 66 books in public-domain translations: the Berean Standard Bible, King James Version, and American Standard Version. Tap Listen and hear a chapter read aloud—it keeps playing with your screen locked.

Private by design
No feed, no followers, no directory. Nothing is public. Journals stay private unless you deliberately send named walking partners a snapshot of the S.O.A.P. sections you select; prayer is off by default. Coach conversations and examens are never shared. View or delete what the app remembers, export your data, or delete your account—all in the app.

Grace, never guilt
Miss a day? You're met with welcome, not a frown. No streaks. Formation over performance—rootedness over hustle.

A note on what Emmaus is—and isn't
Emmaus is a spiritual-growth companion. It is not a church, a pastor, or a substitute for professional medical, mental-health, crisis, or counseling care. If you are in crisis, please reach out to a trusted person and to real help (in the U.S., call or text 988). The AI companion is software and can make mistakes; it points you to Scripture, prayer, and your local church—it never replaces them. You meet Jesus in the Word, not in an app.

Subscription
Emmaus is free to download. Eligible new subscribers can choose a monthly or annual plan and start with 7 days free through Apple. Apple shows the exact local price and terms before confirmation; when the trial ends, the selected plan starts automatically unless canceled. Plans are about $8.99/month or $69.99/year in the U.S. Everything you write stays yours if access lapses, and your walk picks up where it paused when you subscribe again. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings.

Wow! Every morning I wake up the devotional speaks to exactly what I’m going through and has so many ah hah moments that I might even use in my own sermons 😂

It’s like the creators of the app drew from all of the greatest pastors, preachers and theologians to creat something that brings all of their wisdom into one place to speak directly to you, because the app also gets to know you first before it starts to encourage you. 100% love this app and would recommend it to anyone. ## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.6 — 2026-09-06

Morning Scripture reflections now display a clear loading state and remain stable once shown, so your reading is never replaced while you are beginning the day.

### 1.4.5 — 2026-09-02

Emmaus now makes it easier to return to an Apple-created account, share a passage across multiple verses, and begin with a shorter first-day guide. Onboarding more clearly grounds Emmaus as a tool for walking with Jesus, CarPlay voice playback uses the proper volume channel, update notices are easier to find, and free-trial wording is clearer.

### 1.4.4 — 2026-08-28

Long conversations with the Emmaus Coach now continue naturally without cutting off a healthy spoken reply. This update also preserves automatic recovery if audio genuinely stalls.

### 1.4.3 — 2026-08-20

Share what God is teaching you without opening your whole journal: choose a S.O.A.P. reflection, the exact sections to include, and the walking partners who receive it. Prayer stays off unless you check it, and you can stop sharing at any time.

Today's Mission now supports A–E priorities: Must Do, Should Do, Could Do, Delegate, and Eliminate. Emmaus orders the day around those choices.

This update also adds a guided walkthrough, a Settings tab throughout the app, age assurance and parent consent for children under 13, stronger privacy and AI safety controls, data export, rate limits, and reporting for harmful responses or shared content. Eligible new subscribers can now start a seven-day Apple free trial; Apple shows the exact renewal price before confirmation, and Emmaus sends a reminder about three days before the trial ends. Account creation now explains rejected passwords clearly, and the Apple sign-in path has a more reliable native presentation fallback.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-08-14

The Orb feels more like a real conversation now. Your screen stays awake while you talk, supported iPhones listen for a natural pause between turns, and voice playback recovers instead of leaving the conversation stranded.

Prayer requests now start private. You choose prayer by prayer what to share with a walking partner or discipler, and you can make a shared prayer private again at any time.

You can resend a pending invitation with one tap, including creating a fresh link when the old one has expired. The Today card can also expand beyond its five-event preview so a busy calendar never gets cut off.

We clarified the free-week and subscription wording too: the first seven days belong to your Emmaus account, require no card, and never turn into a charge by themselves.
