### 5/5 — This is the one

*2026-02-24, version 1.3.28*

I’ve tried so many of these and there’s SO MANY SCAMS in this space. This one has the right features at the right price and feels like it was designed to be simple and usable.

My only suggestion is to find a more streamlined way to enter the number of hours for sleep. A slider going from 0 to 24 is just a little too finicky especially when you’re normally only entering numbers from a much smaller range.

It’s a minor quibble though and this app has done a great job helping me to recognize my patterns and cycles. I really appreciate the customizable data points.

Keep up the great work!

### 4/5 — Add menstrual cycle

*2025-12-20, version 1.3.28*

I wish there was an option to track your cycle to see how your mood and episodes align. This would be helpful for me and so many women. To have the moon cycle and not our body’s?? Hope to see this in the next update! I want to know when I’m in my luteal phase! Fingers crossed :)

### 5/5 — Love this

*2025-10-30, version 1.3.27*

I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 and this is extremely helpful

### 5/5 — The best app for patients

*2025-08-21, version 1.3.27*

The app allows me to check my mental health every day. The app is very user-friendly and allows me to track my mood, medication and symptoms in a clear and structured way.

### 5/5 — Useful

*2025-08-16, version 1.3.27*

I have bipolar disorder and it’s very useful to see the trends in my mood to help me see in hindsight how I’ve been doing (because I don’t necessarily notice it right away by myself). The free version is perfectly usable. I did purchase the upgrade for the added custom tracking points, which I find helpful.

### 5/5 — Best tracker app

*2025-08-13, version 1.3.27*

Better than Daylio for bipolar specificity.

### 5/5 — Awesome app!

*2025-08-04, version 1.3.27*

Super customizable which is awesome. I really enjoy being able to see the trend data over time to see patterns. I also enjoy the little journal section to see how events translate to symptoms. Very appreciative for this app, I use it every single day.

### 5/5 — Mood Tracker

*2025-08-02, version 1.3.27*

eMoods is a free and simple to use mood tracker app. Ability to print graphs or pdf them. It includes sleep, weight, and meds in addition to depression, anxiety, irritability, and other categories.

### 5/5 — Amazing App

*2025-07-13, version 1.3.27*

5/5, fantastic app, so easy to use and so functional. My psychiatrist saw it, and saw the mood graph, and immediately asked about it to download it. Extremely helpful for someone like me who has Bipolar 1.

### 5/5 — Brings calm by offering perspective

*2025-06-04, version 1.3.27*

Having a journal of moods has become a ritual. It helps me in times hard and good to have a perspective and compare with the past. It helps me communicate with my therapist and other medical professionals as well as keep track of my medication. It’s simple and flexible to use.

### 5/5 — Thoughtful, Unobtrusive, & Streamlined

*2025-05-29, version 1.3.26*

I give very few reviews. What prompted me to give this one might sound strange, but it was because I had to check the settings manually to see if I could add notifications.

No blaring tactics to make me addicted to this app, just a well-thought-out and well-fleshed-out program that clearly and sincerely is there to help.

Thank you!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2025-05-21, version 1.3.26*

Simple and customizable to what you want and need to keep track. The UI is simple and everything is easy to find. I hope it can be a bit colorful in the future.

### 3/5 — Lacking…

*2025-04-21, version 1.3.26*

Should be able to remove meds or edit instead of a never ending list , there needs to be more customization

*2025-04-20*

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

*2025-04-23*

### 1/5 — Incomplete app - give a few years before it’s a real app

*2024-05-29, version 1.3.24*

This app appears to be in the beginning stages of creating it. They made it marginally look better by hiring a graphic designer though. The functionality for mental health is negligible. As it currently stands, this app is useless for any mental condition. I don’t know why this one is being labeled as “bipolar” when it is almost exactly like the other mood apps out there. There is no difference between the apps in this regard.

### 1/5 — No Saved Data - Doesn’t Save Patreon

*2023-11-29, version 1.3.19*

So I paid for the full version for a year! I got a new phone non of my data saved. The Dropbox back up confused me and you can’t open it on your phone. When I asked for my patreon membership back it took weeks for them to give me a promo code to finally get what I paid for back up. I don’t know if I’ll trust it with my data again. This is something so personal I’m sad it’s gone.

### 1/5 — Patron fee scam alert! I was charged 4x the amount I agreed too. 😔

*2023-09-07, version 1.3.19*

Really, really upset!

Despite my current financial struggles I made a decision to become a patron given string advocacy of a close friend who shares my mental health challenges.

At confirmation I acknowledged the $9.99 per year fee to become a patron.
For me right now this was the max fee I would have agreed too.

Too my shock, I was charged $41!!

Is this some kind of sick scam preying in people suffering from mental illness?

### 1/5 — Basic and generic app - could be improved...

*2018-11-16, version 1.2.4*

The app doesn’t have options to input multiple mood changes in a day so it is quite restrictive for people who have rapid mood changes/ultra-cycle.

It is also not clear what exactly is meant by ‘elevated’ mood - whether this is something positive (feeling high/elated) or negative (eg. restlessness/irritation).

The app is also very generic and not very detailed so I don’t think it gives a very accurate or complete analysis of moods and mood swings.

### 2/5 — Cannot export .csv

*2025-01-14, version 1.3.25*

Instructions say there is a convoluted way to export to .csv. What you end up with are 6 separate files with code readable (non human) data. Makes the app worthless for me. Contacted support multiple times they didn’t answer my concern.

### 2/5 — Issue with today’s notes not saving

*2022-07-20, version 1.3.17*

Overall I really love this app, BUT I noticed now that somewhat often my log notes aren’t saving? This is a feature I use every day and is crucial in helping me keep everything in one place, I’m even subscribed because it’s such a wonderful tool for me. I emailed support so once the issue is figured out, I’ll update to 5 stars.

### 2/5 — weirdly and unnecessarily lacking but still better than others

*2021-11-11, version 1.3.17*

overall I’ve found this app to be pretty ok on free version but some significant features are missing which are present in their Wellness app targeted at the more norm core mental health crowd so that is pretty disappointing.

I like the privacy & email export features, the easy input & graph tracking.

The withheld features (more below) make this feel less a tool for folks like me and more a way to shunt us problem children off away from the more lucrative wellness crowd unless we pony up and customize this eMoods app to have the same features already present in the other existing Wellness app. NB: their Wellness app also doesn’t have the same type of mood, therapy & symptoms tracking reflective of BP, BPD & schizophrenic spectrum needs so switching over wholesale also doesn’t work (and loses any previous tracking continuity).

– why are things like hygiene, social/family contact, outside time, exercise, alcohol use and such not included in eMoods classic which is intended for folks with severe mental health issues (per your ad copy) and for whom these are literally hallmark symptoms/needs? moon tracking is cool and all but these would definitely be like more concretely useful (though I'm in camp why not both).

I'd be happy to pay to support but I feel like actually necessary things are being purposely or very thoughtlessly withheld from the free version of the more severe mental health app eMoods which disadvantages some of the already most disadvantage folks in the mental health community (who often don't have $$ to spare) – and so it kind of makes me reticent to support their group, and also makes their app insanely less useful (as demonstrated by features present in…their other app)

all in all, I'm confused why the wellness app for general public has more cross-sectioned severe mental health symptoms to track than the one aimed at folks with bipolar & schizophrenia spectrum disorders??

really not looking for a form answer here. really do want to hear why this is the case AND what they are going to do to fix this, and soon since the app framework has clearly already been built to support this…in their other app.

### 2/5 — Not a big fan of the graphs

*2021-08-15, version 1.3.17*

I downloaded quite a few mood apps to see which ones I liked better. I’m not the biggest fan of this one’s graphs. Others I’ve seen show a line graph while this shows bar graphs. Other apps also allow you to add notes for free while this one you have to pay to add a note.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-07-03, version 1.3.28*

Literally has been a life saver and one of the best ongoing tools for keeping a close eye on myself. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2026-05-31, version 1.3.28*

It’s so easy to use! And customer service is really good too. Thank you :)

### 5/5 — Incredible app

*2026-05-31, version 1.3.28*

I use this app everyday to track my moods and bipolar symptoms. Not sure why there’s an option to track weight but I use that feature to track my energy levels. I share the report with my psychiatrist before and during every visit and it’s really helpful!

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2026-05-25, version 1.3.28*

This is the tracking app I've been looking for. A reasonable payment for the functions I need.

### 5/5 — Amazing!!!

*2026-05-19, version 1.3.28*

I have bipolar 1 and this really helps me keep track of what happens when I’m manic or overall my baseline. I also have an eating disorder so it helps me keep track of my weight so I can keep that consistent

### 5/5 — Fantastic App

*2026-04-18, version 1.3.28*

eMoods is amazing as it has all the functions you need to track mood, medication and daily notes and sleep. Makes checking in with the psychiatrist a lot easier having tracked everything as someone who struggles to remember things sometimes. It only takes 30sec to a minute each day. I do my daily review at the same time I have my meds at night.

### 5/5 — Incredible App

*2026-04-03, version 1.3.28*

This app is absolutely awesome. It is helping me tremendously. I love the non-stimulating, neutral aesthetic as well as the simplicity of the rating systems. Whoever designed this clearly thought through it carefully and has a great understanding of bipolar disorder.

Only other feature that might make a nice addition would be an easy way to track the weather forecast since I think that can impact moods day to day. It would be interesting to see any correlations.

The emergency plan section could maybe be improved a little too, but I think it’s a great feature and am impressed that it was included within the app. Also, off the top of my head, I can’t think of the specific ways to improve it that crossed my mind.

Anyway, the app is straightforward, easy to use consistently, and a great way to build a consistent habit of quick “check-ins”. I could not ask for a more perfect app to suit my needs.

### 5/5 — Grateful to have found this app

*2026-03-30, version 1.3.28*

I needed a mood tracker and didn't want my data stored in the cloud. I didn't think an app for this existed but here it is! Thank you for the good work you do.

### 5/5 — Simple and powerful

*2026-03-28, version 1.3.28*

This has been an easy way to chart my main bipolar symptoms and meds over time and easily see patterns and share them with my doctor. It’s fast but also customizable.

### 5/5 — The best app for bipolar

*2026-02-28, version 1.3.28*

Great simple app that does it’s job
