## What is Empathy Companion?

Before you send a message in the heat of the moment — pause. Empathy Companion helps you turn judgments, blame and demands into words that build
  connection instead of escalating conflict, in the spirit of Marshall Rosenberg's Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

  It's not a copy-paste shortcut — it's a draft you understand and refine before you send. You stay the author of your words.

  THREE WAYS TO USE IT
  • Express yourself — turn a hard message into something you actually want to send.
  • Understand someone — paste what another person wrote to you, and Empathy Companion helps you hear what they might feel and need (the other half of
  NVC: empathic listening).
  • Appreciation — shape genuine thanks that truly lands, instead of an empty "you're the best".

  HOW IT WORKS
  1. Type or dictate your message.
  2. Pick the recipient (partner, child, parent, friend, boss, coworker — or your own) and tone (neutral, tender, formal).
  3. Get a message in "giraffe language" + an optional breakdown into the 4 NVC steps: observation, feeling, need, and a request that leaves room for a
  "no" (a request, not a demand).
  4. Not quite right? Generate another version, or change tone and recipient. Then copy or share.

  FOR LEARNERS AND PRACTITIONERS
  • Classic form (full 4 steps — great for learning) or short form (one natural sentence — once you know NVC).
  • Tutorial: giraffe language vs jackal language — without judgment (a jackal is just a giraffe having a hard time).
