### 5/5 — I feel much better

*2025-05-28, version 1.24.7*

Empathy worked out the breathing rythem which helped me a lot. I need to forget the past and get out more. I know it’s not going to remove my thoughts but at least I feel a little better.

### 5/5 — Helps me like a great side friend

*2025-04-25*

Thank God for this app. I’ve gone through soooo much and my daughter too. For my sister Adrienne. And it’s for the grief of my relationship with my boy husband man. And it’s the separation. And it’s the beyond journey to just let go. Thanks for being my faithful company through these little and big journeys I’ve gone through

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2025-03-12, version 1.23.1*

I love the audios. I learned some of the most important topics which grievers should be listened. Helpful topics!

### 5/5 — Access earlier

*2025-02-20*

My husband was in hospice for a year and we have know for 5 years that his earthy time was short.
I wish I had access to the app earlier. It has tips to think about ahead of time. My main access is for the grief related tasks.
Great app to help you with the details of loss.

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2025-01-20*

The many resources and the phone sessions with care manager Kaitlin were a godsend. Practical advice on documents, organizing papers and managing finances. Also fabulous and extensive library helping with strong waves of emotion. Mindfulness and breathing Guided exercises continue to help me 5 months after death of my kind husband.

### 5/5 — A life line

*2024-12-23, version 1.20.7*

This app is my lifeline to physical, emotional and mental stability. There are days where I can cope just fine, but when grief takes over I turn to my app. Every day it’s there for me to check in. I can journal about my emotions instantly and don’t have to wait to go to a therapist.

### 5/5 — Empathy App., my take.

*2024-12-17*

I have come to rely on this app for some sanity while experiencing the loss of my wife. The daily journal is an easy way to let go and track my emotional state. Writing stuff down is so important and I’m reminded everyday to check in. I don’t have to remember or hunt down paper and pencil. The talks and meditations can be very helpful too. I’ve only used the “things you need to legally do” a couple times and that was great. The benefit of working with people that understand what you’re going through is reassuring.

Thank you

### 5/5 — It’s amazing!

*2024-10-23*

I felt so lost when my husband died and didn’t know where to start or how to navigate any of the administrative aspect. His company offered this as a benefit along with his life insurance policy. But when I looked at it the first time, I just thought it was counseling. It is so much more. They hold your hand as you walk through the process. There is a live person to talk to and step-by-step instructions on what to do.
It’s a great product

### 5/5 — Very Helpful

*2024-10-07*

I’ve found this app to be very helpful. The articles are relevant, the reminders to take a moment to tune into my feeling or journal about them helped to ground me. The breathing exercises helped me relax. I already knew a bit about making final arrangements for my loved one and settling an estate but the ability to check things off as I did so was still helpful and would be invaluable to someone who needs guidance with those things. I think I could have benefited from more use of the services provided but that was my choice or lack of energy in my grief to do so. I highly recommend empathy.

### 5/5 — Helpful and Supportive

*2024-08-24*

The Empathy App is an inclusive collection of everything you need to know and take care of after the death of a loved one. So many details… But the app also includes grief counseling and psychological support during a terrible, traumatic time. A thoughtful App that is a real help. Use it to the fullest advantage.

### 5/5 — Empathy Helps!

*2024-08-21*

Folks, you should have Empathy help guide you through your loved ones affairs and to help you & your family w the inevitable grief that comes along w your loved one’s passing. I don’t know where I’d be if I didn’t have Kaitlyn’s (my case manager) help w all the legal matters, etc. And she’s also a wonderful shoulder to cry on. These people ARE empathetic to your situation and can help you through it. My sympathies to you. ♥️

### 1/5 — Waste

*2026-05-07, version 1.31.1*

Waste of time. They don’t offer any actual help. It just refers you to other stuff. Save your data space on your phone.

### 1/5 — App Issues

*2025-06-10, version 1.25.0*

The App won’t open. I’ve been using this app for several years and have a lot of info on it. For some reason the app won’t let me open it and whenever I try and report the problem it won’t let me. Someone Help !!!

### 1/5 — Great if some human you know has passed horrible otherwise

*2024-04-18*

ADDressed to anyone seeking any help with pet grief don’t look here as the company that names themselves empathy, you show zero empathy when it comes to understanding that there are other types of death and the main one being that of a pet clearl than human. sorry for the typos voice text. I’ll give you some great links. If you are looking for some help grieving your pets death. My heart goes out to you. My heart goes out to the developers because you all don’t have the heart and I wish you the best that you develop one.

### 1/5 — This app, now

*2023-02-06, version 1.14.5*

This app is a paid service with more than 20 pages of "privacy info." It made my phone slow down, and it then they wanted $499!!!

### 1/5 — Cancel

*2021-09-01, version 1.0.10*

I have tried to cancel and sent numerous emails without them responding back.

### 1/5 — DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME

*2021-04-11, version 1.0.2*

This app is so difficult to understand. It did not help ease my burden, it only added to it. I feel worse and more overwhelmed then when I started. Don’t use.

### 2/5 — Super weird

*2021-05-15*

I understand what this is trying to do but it fails miserably. I was searching for a resource after my mom passed away and checked out the free trial. Basically just a weird repository of information on what to do that I can pull from the internet in two minutes for free. Information itself was ok but no value add over what’s already out there. Basically just a compilation of easily obtained info in a slick UI. Did the free trial and no way I’d pay for this. Entirely out of touch and you can tell whoever created this has never actually closed an estate. Grief can’t be automated. Would not recommend.

**Developer response:** We are sorry that you did not find the guidance you needed in our app. We are constantly growing and adding new features in order to help as many families as we can, with any situation or task they are dealing with after a loss. We would love to know more from you about what would have helped you, so that we can improve the experience for all families that use our app. Please feel free to respond to us here or to email us at support@empathy.com with any specific feedback or suggestions you may have; we’d sincerely appreciate it.

While it is true that much of the information that is available on our app can be discovered elsewhere, Empathy provides a personalized experience, showing you the specific details you need for your unique loss, and providing step-by-step guidance to the tasks that are relevant to you when you need them.

We are also very conscious that loss is a human process that encompasses every aspect of one’s life, and in consultation with experts in fields as various as funeral planning, estate law, and grief counseling, our program addresses the ways that each affects and complicates the other, bringing together emotional, logistical, and relational guidance in ways that are not addressed by these fields separately.

Finally, we urge you to take full advantage of our Helpline, which provides real-time chat with care specialists who are able to address your specific needs whenever they are not covered by the more general support available within the app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Better late than never.

*2026-04-26*

I wasn’t told about this app when I called my husband’s benefits department. I made some early mistakes. Knowledge is power. Talking to people who are going through the same pain has helped. I’m still learning to use everything on the app. I only wish I could find a way to find an online therapist or psychiatrist. I’m afraid just to pick someone who isn’t recommended. I’m home bound.

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2026-04-24, version 1.30.9*

Recently lost both parents. It is so good to see others are having the same struggles. This is so helpful— glad it is here.

### 5/5 — Empathy app

*2026-03-20, version 1.30.4*

It has really been a lifesaver during this time.

### 5/5 — Wonderfully helpful

*2026-03-13, version 1.30.3*

This was given to me as a part of the Ford pension plan, and his MetLife insurance plan. I am so thankful. When my dad passed I was beside myself with grief and not knowing what to do. This app was incredible, helping me with probate, a checklist of what to do and helping with my mental health. I tell everyone about it.

### 5/5 — Finally help I needed

*2026-03-06, version 1.30.2*

After just 5 minutes using the Empathy Loss Support app, I had a peace of mind for the first time since my mom died. No attorney could explain the process as well.

### 5/5 — Thankful and grateful

*2026-02-15, version 1.29.8*

This has been my go to on a daily basis. It's comforting and reassuring. I'm thankful it was shared with me ❤️

### 5/5 — Wow!!

*2026-01-28*

When you think you don’t need help and then you find this app, makes you realize that you really do need the help. I’m doing my sessions in the morning and in the evening and their help so very much.. Thanks to MetLife. I would never found out about this, but of course you know I didn’t think I had a problem.💜

### 5/5 — Exceptional content at just the right time

*2025-11-30*

I lost my partner nine months ago and I used this app for about an hour every day for the first few months. As time went on my use of it weighed and then came my first holiday without my partner, and I am back at giving myself, compassionate scans and listening to what I can be doing to care for myself. I highly recommend this app because of the breath of information as well as the depth and skill of teachers

### 5/5 — Ms.Young

This app has been a great support in this dark time of losing my son. It has allowed me to grieve in my own time and way. It has been a great asset with information and steps I’d never thought of. Thank you for this resource
