Day usage was a line chart, now it’s bars. Give us the option to choose the format, or go back to the way it was. Lines are more useful to me for live, hourly, and the full day, because I need to see peaks and duration. Bars only show me an hourly total, which is not as useful. I wish they would slow down. Once you get use to the current app and understanding how to find the information you need they change it. The hardware is good. No complaints there. Overall I’m happy with the product I just think the dept that designs the app has more time on there hands then common sense. ### 3/5 — Device is great, but app has many drawbacks. *2026-07-29, version 4.12.1.10915* 1. Like many people, we live in a multi adult household, with two spouses, with both of us driving the EV and wishing to communicate with the system. The ID signin system is not very friendly to that. The app gives you no chance to use choose an email for your account, so it tries to sign into your phone's email account, which may not be the one you set up with, and then says, go away, you're the wrong guy. Also, the bluetooth does not pair well, and seems not able to understand working with more than one phone. 2. There is a "pause" command button during a charging session, but NOT one to end the session. So it's very easy to get "hung" on this app if you want to if you need to end the session early to unplug the charger and depart. 3. The app screens seem more suitable for people who are also using Emporia's energy monitor management and tracking module, a separate device. There is still some important and easy to gather data that is missing such as knowing the reporting instantaneous power draw a circuit has experienced in a selected period of time. This would really help me know if I need to upgrade any circuits. Instead it will only show watt-hours or amp-hours, which doesn’t help with this. Also there send to be a 5%-10% “balance” of unaccounted for power despite my having all circuits monitored. I looked closely at the data and changed the start and end dates numerous times and was able to determine that when the date range was wide (e.g. 18 days) that it was incorrectly including energy from the whole initial day and not just from the time I had chosen (6:22pm). I’ve saved so much in energy cost being able to monitor our usage. The recent update got rid of the hourly usage visibility.. why?! Extremely frustrating, as this was the most valuable feature of the app. It’s strange that they left daily and monthly usage visible.. but that doesn’t help us on hourly rate plans. Do not use Emporia products!!! *2026-04-16* I have used the Emporia app to monitor a smart plug used for a sump pump for several years. I chose Emporia because it was the only smart plug that supported “seconds” display for the plug usage data. Seeing the sump pump usage remotely is important to my piece of mind and operation of the pump. Well, 22 hours ago some genius at Emporia decided that the seconds option was no longer needed. Unfortunately my iPhone was set to “update apps automatically.” Now I can only see the usage down to “hours” resolution. USELESS!!!!! An important feature that I highly valued is now gone without my consent. I encourage anyone who is dissatisfied with this change to complain loudly to Emporia. Why would they make such a huge change without allowing for some users to access the “seconds” setting? The seconds data are still available because my iPad shows it. This is a decision that is misguided, and perhaps stupid considering that the seconds display was a distinguishing market feature of the Emporia products. I will try to speak to a human at Emporia to determine what options I have. I will change my review if a resolution is found. But I right now encourage everyone to abandon the Emporia app and products. If they can change this feature without any recourse then they will change others in the future without any concern for the user.
