It loads so slowly, if at all. Even when it loads it can’t always handle itself; visible buttons won’t click because it runs so slowly. Even trying to post this review the app crashed. The is way too much fluff on the app; just have it load the content I subscribe too. It defaults to load the dashboard tab which is useless so I have to wait for it to let me click to audio. Even the audio tab has “continue listening” row that doesn’t work because it shows segments from a decade ago that I’ve never listened to. If I click “mark as listened” then that segment disappears and replaced with another never ending list of segments I’ve never listened to. Lastly, the new weekly format is dangerous. EMRAP has acknowledged that most listeners listen while driving. It used to be two easy access monthly chapters (EMRAP and EMA) but now they separate it to weekly so we have to do even more clicks that don’t load? Plus, each EMRAP chapter is inserted with several EMA summaries I’d have recurrently skip; just give me the autonomy to choose to listen to a summary or not. ### 3/5 — Video organization awful *2026-07-14, version 23.4.0* EMRAP as an educational organization is amazing but this app needs some seeious restructuring. It used to be much easier to stay on top of the new videos using the app. Now I don’t know which ones I have seen and which ones I have not. It’s all jumbled up. Help! ### 2/5 — Won’t Download to iPhone *2025-12-31, version 23.1.0* Have been an EMRAP listener for 20+ years. Love the content, hate the App. Haven’t been able to download it to my phone for years now. Not a huge issue but there are areas on my way to work that don’t have strong cell signal (or some flights) so can’t always stream. ### 4/5 — Ron *2025-08-02, version 22.3.0* Love the Em: Rap team but very disappointed no longer covering primary care. Was a PCMA listener since the 1990’s. I attribute Rick and Jerry’s insights allowing me to this day to give good care to my patients. ROP with Ken and Steve was a pretty good substitute but now that is gone. ### 3/5 — Cannot add podcasts to playlist! *2025-05-26, version 22.2.0* The Add button to add videos to a playlist does nothing. It does not work! ### 2/5 — Horrible design *2025-01-19, version 21.0.1* They updated this and chopped it into weekly and it’s so glitchy and incapable of seamless delivery. It’s highly annoying to use and the lack of user friendliness is making me a lot less forgiving of the fact that the content is going down in quality ### 3/5 — Great Content, logistical problems. *2025-01-01, version 21.0.1* I use this app a lot. Between EM:RAP and EMA, I listened to 176 hours in the last two years. I don’t like the new weekly format but I understand why it happened. Two things just need to be fixed: 1. CME needs to be in the app. There’s just no reason in 2025 that we don’t have this yet. Show us that this is a priority. 2. Those of us who listen to the monthly recap still have to go and individually check off the sections we listened to before we can get CME credit. This should be an easy fix. ### 2/5 — Super glitchy app *2024-11-27, version 20.3.1* For the past few months, the app has become super glitchy. I love the content, but the app really needs an update. The app crashes about every 10 minutes when I am listening to it through Bluetooth In my car. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no improvement. The end chapter does not show up as played. If I don’t manually mark them as played, the unfinished episodes accumulate. There simply is no other resource as good as this. ### 4/5 — Fantastic app buggy software iPhone 15 *2023-12-20, version 17.0.0* Been with EMRAP for years. At this point, it’s a core source of info and staying up to date with emergency medicine. Good production goes into the audio and videos. That said, the app is buggy at times. Sometimes long load times. Although improved recently. More recent problem since upgrading to iPhone 15. The video playlist won’t completely load. So I can watch the videos visible on the screen and can’t scroll down further, cutting me off from using a lot of videos on shift. Keeps it from being a 5/5 ### 2/5 — Crashes frequently *2023-12-14, version 17.0.0* The app frequently crashes or spontaneously stops playback. Ever since the app “revamp” it has been increasingly terrible to use. Downloads are in process forever and never download, downloads are impossible to cancel, it plays one segment at a time, lots of wasted space on each screen, have to log in to the website in a browser to access written segment summaries, and when they say things like “see the photo associated with what we are talking about” in the details, i never can. I am sure they spent a lot on this app development but there is a lot to learn from more effective podcast apps like Overcast. Even updated this morning again to see if that helped to minimal avail.
