### 4/5 — Awesome

*2011-03-19, version 1.0.2*

I downloaded this just to see what it does as I don't live in the area it covers. It's very well laid out, good functionality and keeps the books where they belong... on the shelf. Wish we had something like this for the NYC/NYS area. Kudos to the developer and all involved for putting something like this together.

### 5/5 — Times have changed

*2011-02-20, version 1.0.0*

As a family member of a paramedic I've seen and heard all the changes in EMS, but this app is so technologically advanced. It brings all the information needed right in the palm of your hand! It provides everything they need to know, this will make their job much easier and I'm sure help save many more lives!

### 4/5 — Very Nice App!

*2011-02-20, version 1.0.0*

This app is definitely very helpful. It is very nice to have all these resources in electronic form, all in one place. The protocol setup is fantastic! Much easier than scrolling through a PDF document trying to find what you need. Having contact numbers for the variety of facilities in one place is very handy. The field guide with the various scales is awesome. The facility "chooser" is a very nice feature, however it could be improved if it included all of the hospitals in the area instead of only WPAHS facilities. The GPS feature that sends the coordinates directly to LifeFlight is nice ... Could come in handy if you are not using a pre-designated landing zone, or if you are out of your primary area taking a backup call. Pediatric reference chart is a must have resource.

The app could be improved if it was setup for us iPad users, instead of it just being an iPhone app that can be used on the iPad. Also, like I mentioned previously, it would be nice if all of the hospitals in the area were included, but I understand this is a WPAHS app.

It would be cool to see the MEND exam added.

Overall, this is a great resource tool to have at your fingertips. Alleviates stuffing the pockets full of guides and notepads with handwritten notes. Good job!

### 5/5 — Excellent interactive app

*2011-02-19, version 1.0.0*

The creation and introduction of this innovative tool for all EMS providers will bring amazing new capabilities in the field. It will advance the treatment of patients and hopefully improve patient survival rates. The possibilities are endless. Kudos to WPAHS.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2011-02-19, version 1.0.0*

As a brother of a firefighter this would be a great app for any emergency employee.

### 5/5 — Unbelievable advanced technology

*2011-02-18, version 1.0.0*

From a supervisor point of view, this app provides today's EMS field crew so much information, references and the advanced ability to communicate within one application. I surely see improved patient outcomes with this use.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2011-02-17, version 1.0.0*

I am impressed! Easy-to-use, very informative and a great usability. A great assistant for every EMS.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2011-02-17, version 1.0.0*

Awesome app for anyone in EMS. Love that it's interactive!

### 5/5 — Truly a REVOLUTIONARY App.

*2011-02-17, version 1.0.0*

How did they ever find a developer that could build so many interlinking EMS functions?? This App gives me every important aspect of reference and contact information. I love the pre-alert GPS for air transport. Education at my fingers, and to top it off, it provides me facility reference and medical command/physician communication all in one! WoW... I finally have PA State Protocols at my fingertips. No flipping of a note book anymore!

### 5/5 — Great Tool!!!

*2011-02-17, version 1.0.0*

This is a tool that will be used almost daily. Having contact information for all the hospitals in the health system is so nice. Very handy utility to pre alert LifeFlight, will give us those few extra minutes that might be crucial for positive patient outcome when needed.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Tools keeps closing not very helpful

*2017-11-15, version 1.8.3*

Tool keeps closing when you open . Not to helpful..... please fix

### 1/5 — Not local

*2012-11-05, version 1.1.2*

I live in California and its only telling me to go to Pennsylvania

### 1/5 — EMS Field Partner

*2011-10-30, version 1.0.6*

It is the worst program ever don't waste your time I got rid of it ASAP!!!

### 1/5 — First app I ever had that won't load!

*2011-04-09, version 1.0.2*

First app I've downloaded that just refuses to work, even after hard resets
and a restore.

### 2/5 — App crashes on protocols

*2014-10-17, version 1.6.2*

App crashes whenever I use the PA protocols section, when you get down to the section you want to read it crashes the app each time.

### 3/5 — Not the Same

*2018-11-11, version 1.9.2*

Bring back the EMS chart starter please! I loved that function of this awesome app!

### 3/5 — Why update if not going to fix the problem?

*2015-03-17, version 1.8.0*

You added the EMS charts starter / notes section a year or 2 ago and it has never worked; why not fix it or just eliminate it all together....

### 3/5 — Notes don't work…

*2013-04-11, version 1.5.0*

The app works, somewhat. It lacks the ability to keep noted when added to the vitals area.

Also, wish it were easier to start a new trip, (just by hitting a button and you input just the basics and then vitals/miles/times and have a spot for meds/allergies if the notes won't continue to save

### 3/5 — Add Ability to Program Med Command

*2012-02-10, version 1.0.6*

You should add the ability to program in a custom medical command number. As a Pgh area provider, not all services have WPAHS Command (having CMC or UPMC instead) but still transport to WPAHS facilities.
Also, should add in address and specialities of non-WPAHS hospitals (UPMC or not) because in some situations those facilities are closer and potentially more appropriate (aka working arrest w/o ROSC).

### 4/5 — Awesome

*2011-03-22, version 1.0.2*

I love this app I wish we had this in Alabama

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good app. Needs updates.

*2024-01-07, version 2.0.10*

Good app for a provider. Needs the 2024 protocols though.

### 5/5 — Good app. Needs updates.

*2023-10-13*

Good app for a provider. Needs the 2023 protocols though.

### 5/5 — Needs a drug library

*2021-09-15, version 2.0.6*

The ONLY thing I liked more about the UPMC EMS app than this AHN app was its drug library. It listed a comprehensive information section for every drug on the PA EMS approved medication list. Furthermore, on each drug page, it had links to every protocol where the drug might be used. It was very nice. As it stands, if I want info on a drug, I need to switch over to Epocrates. If AHN added a good drug library (comparable to Epocrates…ESPECIALLY if they added a drug calculator), it would be absolutely amazing.

Also, AHN, don’t forget, the 2021 BLS, ALS, and CCT protocols are now out.

### 5/5 — Randy

*2012-11-19, version 1.1.2*

Awesome app. I wish the hospitals in my state were as good as Allegheny Pa. Hospital is with there EMS outreach.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2011-05-20, version 1.0.2*

I love having all the protocols in the palm of my hand! I have been searching for an app like this for quite some time. The GPS feature is a bonus for any pre hospital personal!

### 5/5 — amazing app

*2011-04-24, version 1.0.2*

This is my first review and it turns out to be one for a fantastic app I cannot use! Like a previous reviewer, I'm in New York City and feel we'd benefit tremendously from something similar! I have to admit that I would pay for it...

### 5/5 — Useful app

*2011-03-10, version 1.0.1*

This is a very handy app to have as a prehospital provider. It's nice to have all the protocol and reference information right there, instead of carrying a few pocket reference guides. Look forward to using all that it haves to offer for us in the "field".

### 5/5 — Great Application

*2011-03-02, version 1.0.1*

As a paramedic student, this application is a wonderful tool for not only contacting a helicopter, but having all the protocols and 'cheat' sheets that used to take up a lot of room in my pocket, now is at the click of a button. Great job!!!! From Jeff in pre-hospital care at AKMC to the developers and everyone involved!! KUDOS!!!

### 5/5 — ER Doctor

*2011-03-02, version 1.0.1*

Excellent app for both prehospital and hospital providers

### 5/5 — An amazing resource and tool

*2011-02-21, version 1.0.0*

Since I got an iPhone I have been looking for an app that would help with practicing Ems in the field. This is the app I have been looking for. I runs fast on my phone, has both ALS and bls protocols, can help me to pre-alert helicopter for rapid evacuation, give me the location of the best hospital to serve our patients medical need. And to top it all off the price is right for this app. This app is quickly becoming my favorite app while on duty.
