Just got my GameSir Pocket Taco, and when connected, the Pico-8 viewport is centered, placing it slightly under my controller. It seems like the tolerances are too tight where I’m forced to perfectly place my fingers where the app wants them to be. There’s no “close enough” zone in the control pad. For instance if I try to walk in a circle, there’s a dead zone where I stop walking between the up right down and left buttons. I’ve had better luck with other touch controls, so I know it can work. I could import the .p8.png files but when trying to play them FAKE-08 would either freeze or say there are not carts in the directory **Developer response:** Hi! Feels like a scam. *2026-02-16* I recommend just using the web player on the BBS. Despite technically being free, the wording for the absurdly priced *weekly* subscription is intentionally vague to make you think you don’t get unlimited play without it, and they know what they did as far as positioning those buttons. The dev is defending this online but it just reads like a complete cash grab. For the player itself, it’s fine. The only thing I’m wishing for is more console themes besides colors, and a way to input a Pico 8 license maybe to access Splore and the console and such. Speaking of the console, there should be a way to access it like regular Pico 8 (maybe for if you input a license so you have the full pico 8 thing) so you can do stuff like regular pico 8. I especially love how you can customize the controller layout to play with. It’s simple to download .p8 files (carts) from lexaloffle.com to a folder on my iPhone and launch the games in Picpic. The controls need some work—I tried both the touchscreen and the Gamesir Pocket Taco and both were buggy—as I’m sure the devs are aware.
