However, the app needs improvement. The schedule feature stopped working. We have to daily turn off the lights (manually) from the app although we set up a daily schedule in the app. Kind of annoying being that we don’t remember daily to turn them off so sometimes the lights are on all day long. Wasting energy. Would love for this to be fixed. ### 3/5 — Except for Sundays *2026-06-29, version 1.2.6* This is a great product unless you want to program a weekly schedule that included Sundays - it will read as a conflict and stay on all night in default ### 2/5 — Works ok but… *2026-06-26, version 1.2.6* I’ve had some minor issues with this app working with my driveway and outside home lights that I was able to get fixed. But my lights are supposed to be on dusk to dawn, however they started coming on 3 hours early. I figured it had somehow changed my time zone and I could surly fix it in the app. I couldn’t find a time zone setting. My address was shown wrong in the app. I put in my address. Still appeared wrong. Reddit said just put in the zip code. Bingo. At least it showed what city I lived in. But my lights still came on early. After searching for a setting, then calling support, I was instructed to delete my home then reinstall it. If I couldn’t get it working again, then to call back. Why is this so difficult? Why do I need to delete my home? ### 3/5 — Gets the Job Done but Needs Improvements *2026-06-23, version 1.2.6* The app is nice and streamlined. It allows for basic automations which I like for when I go on vacation. My primary complaint is that I use the app to turn off my lights after I have winded down for the night, but the app lacks a dark mode feature so I get blinded upon opening it. Also for having paid as much as I did for smart plugs, there should be zero ads like there are for their other products in the app. Especially not ones that shift down the button to turn on/off smart plugs or other home automation devices. It also lacks Apple Home compatibility so I can’t control it from that app instead. Other than that, the app is alright. It gets the job done. Please Enbrighten developers, add those features and this app would be up to almost five stars. ### 2/5 — Nonstop issues *2026-06-13, version 1.2.6* So many issues with these wi-fi cafe lights. They work one day then the next only half turn on. Take them down and test them and they work. Then they don’t work. Then one of the lights only color works not the white. So frustrating. I’ve returned multiple sets and thought I finally had them all working and then tonight half the set doesn’t turn on. I think they’ll all come down tomorrow and I’ll return for something more reliable. ### 1/5 — Mine don’t work *2026-06-12, version 1.2.6* I did all the steps correctly and the lights do not turn on and I think I got scammed if you can send me a other pair but the set up was easy but at the end it still didn’t work ### 1/5 — Very low quality *2026-06-06, version 1.2.6* Few weeks after installation some of the lights stopped working. Faulty material and sometime the automatic schedule do not work. The wording of how on/off functions works looks like it was made by someone who barely speaks English. Could we get an English version? Here’s a comprehensible example Turn ON: 00:00 AM Turn OFF: 00:00 PM Hope this helps. ### 1/5 — Do not like this app *2026-06-02, version 1.2.6* I am constantly having issues with devices disconnecting or going offline and finding ip addresses and changing wifi is easiest to delete the device and start over. I have devices by several other brands and my 3 enbrighten devices are always the problems. ### 1/5 — Fine app, shows ads *2026-05-22, version 1.2.6* I purchased enbrighten smart plugs, and i need the app to use them to control my lights. Today when i opened the app, it showed me an ad which i had to dismiss before i could turn on my lights. Enbrighten hates its customers. App works fine. I love having such easy control over all my lighting, and it has every feature i need. Too bad they just cant help themselves from treating me like a cashpig. I wasted time trying to find a setting to opt out of the ads - i dont think they added that. ### 1/5 — Code not tested - app functions not working *2026-05-20, version 1.2.6* I lost functionality on the April 2026 code release. This app does not support a setting to turn the light switches on at sundown and then off at a certain time. i.e. on 30 minutes before sunset then off at 11 pm. I had to get creative to make it work then that functionality stopped working after April 2026 release. Tech support had no clue how to replicate the issue and told me to delete all switches on the app and start over with all setup. ### 2/5 — Cannot put into pairing mode *2026-05-09, version 1.2.6* These lights work well until power went out. I cannot get the main box to enter into pairing mode. I’ve tried all options listed on Jacks website to no avail. I think there is something wrong with the control box. Pitiful product. ### 1/5 — Location required for schedule *2026-05-03, version 1.2.6* I used these devices and app for many years and WAS satisfied. No longer Adding devices and manually operating devices works well. Setting a schedules is easy but with some app updates only works with location permissions always on. In a prior version schedules worked okay. I refuse to give this company access to my location so schedules do not work. ### 1/5 — Worst of them all *2026-05-02, version 1.2.6* First let me state I have LOTS of smart plugs and switches at three different houses. I have four of these at my parent’s house and four others (Hubspace) that I got from Home Depot. Three of the four went offline and while one finally came back on the other two didn’t. The app just goes in a loop and fails to open the QR reader which honestly I shouldn’t have to need because I should be able to rely these will stay connected. So now o can’t even reconnect them. Keep in mind I have over ten different smart devices so I understand what works and what doesn’t. These don’t work! ### 3/5 — Works sometimes *2026-05-01, version 1.2.6* It works, kinda. Keep an eye on the lights you have programmed schedules for. Every 30-45 days the program won't run and the lights will stay on/off. If you delete the program and reprogram the schedule it will work again. Usually. Not sure how. Not sure why, but it's just stops. ### 1/5 — Was good *2026-04-27, version 1.2.6* Was fun and nice, but now it’s having connection issues with the app. Side note it does not have just plain old colors to choose from, you have to slide your finger on the scale and try to get it close to the core color you want. Most reds on slider look pink tinted. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — LED lights *2026-08-31, version 1.2.6* I purchase led lights from this brand. Set up came with 2 options. One being screwing the lights into my wall, the other being sticking them with sticky tabs. I chose sticky tabs. They came off after a few hours. Did not even last a day. The other option, screws, would’ve damaged the wall. So I was unable to use it and wasted my money. I do not recommend purchasing LED lights from this brand. you’re better off with SHEIN or Temu ### 1/5 — Unfinished software *2026-08-27, version 1.2.6* 1. No multi-admin functionality for matter device. This should be mandatory for all matter controller software 2. After using the software without account, I can only create a new account with “username” (but dev really meant email address), not existing account, not SSO account, only a new email address. Otherwise, I “lose” all devices (I don’t really know dev means unconfigure this controller from the device or resetting the device (qr code rescan warning) or silently make them lingering to their server) 3. If I “remove device”, there are two options: “remove” or “disconnect and remove data”. Please educate me how to read them. 4. You cannot skip firmware update dialog IF you want to modify device configuration. However, you can control it from home page. Why? ### 1/5 — Sucks *2026-08-25, version 1.2.6* This product erases every device I installed. Even the lights go wacky. Overpriced. ### 1/5 — dont recommend you need a phone to use the lights *2026-08-05, version 1.2.6* when you first plug it in or plug in then out and in again you have to manually connect it to your phone. the light button completely stops working, then you have to access your cellular device to control it. where as other brands just have a remote and these products do not give you one besides the button in the wire that can easily break. highly highly dont recommend. then you need to create a account to use full light functions. doesnt make sense ### 1/5 — A total pain to set up and maintain *2026-07-17, version 1.2.6* A pain to set up with internet. We had to figure out how to avoid 5g which is what everyone has now. That took hours. Then if your unit goes offline - which happens every few months -we have to move heavy furniture to reset and re-pair the whole system. Now i cant access my lights or change anything. ### 1/5 — Poor Functioning *2026-06-25, version 1.2.6* On my iphone, the keyboard does not close when I use FaceId for credentials, so the login button is covered and not accessible. So no login. On my ipad, the login button is covered by some part of the app and not accessible. So also no login. Please fix this. ### 1/5 — Frustration with Cafe lights Gen 2 *2026-06-14, version 1.2.6* The lights are beautiful when working. It is perplexing that WiFi controls don’t work correctly. I reset the device, remove or add the device multiple times and the app fails to add the device while identical ones worked fine. (under the Schedule tab) When I unplug my summer porch light and plug in my Christmas lights, I just selected that schedule from last year and enbrighten remembers and activates it. It turns off the overlapping porch light schedule until I choose it in the spring.
