Unfortunately, after subscribing, I found that there was only one 8D sound available. There really isn’t much variety to choose from, and I also feel like the Focus, Sleep, and Relaxation options all sound very similar. What made the experience even more disappointing is that, despite purchasing a yearly subscription, every time I open the app I’m bombarded with promotions asking me to purchase a lifetime subscription. It’s frustrating to pay for a full year and still constantly feel like I’m being advertised to and pushed to spend more money. Overall, the app just wasn’t what I expected based on the advertising. I was hoping for a much wider selection of immersive sounds and more variety between the different modes. For the price, I expected a lot more. ### 4/5 — Bonne appli. Mais stop à la pub *2026-08-24* J’utilise cette application avec un abonnement depuis de nombreuses années. Je l’apprécie beaucoup et je l’utilise plusieurs heures par jour. Néanmoins un détail me fatigue de plus en plus : j’ai constamment de la publicité pour accéder à une version payante à vie alors que je paye déjà un abonnement. Je ne veux pas de publicité, je ne veux pas payer un abonnement moins cher, je ne veux pas te proposition commerciale à chaque ouverture, je veux juste pouvoir utiliser l’application et profiter de mon abonnement, c’est tout. Over the last few months there have been a very unsettling, high-pitched noises mixed in with the normal sleep sound that I use that either wakes me up out of my sleep or interrupt my drifting off to sleep to the point where it’s giving me anxiety. There’s no setting that fixes it so I’ve had to just stop using the app altogether.. it’s unfortunate cause I really liked it. ### 2/5 — Customer service? *2026-08-23, version 4.8.6* I have used this app religiously for over 6 years. Sleeping, working, focus, in my classroom, you name it. I have seen it change and evolve so much in that time. The one thing I’ve noticed that has taken a turn. Is customer service. I have reached out via email, but it seems responses are now nonexistent, even for a long time subscribers. I remember having an opportunity to speak with one of the developers who wanted to talk with baseline users over Zoom. It seems those days are gone. ### 2/5 — Invasive and off putting *2026-08-20, version 4.8.6* I had to delete this app because there is no way to make it stop playing automatically when I put my headphones on. I searched the entire menu and there was no option. I tried following several different sets of directions I found searching the web but none of them worked. Endel obviously wants to make it hard so they keep changing the process and have now removed it entirely. Edit: the developer sent me a canned response that in no way addressed my complaint. It’s either AI or just lazy. ### 3/5 — False Advertising on 8D Odyssey *2026-08-19, version 4.8.6* I’m a premium member who was very excited when 8D Odyssey was introduced given the marketing all over social media. I have been very disappointed with how it actually is. Much slower and unexciting than what was advertised. Why advertise something you don’t actually offer? Willing to cancel my premium membership over this. ### 3/5 — Questioning the value *2026-08-18, version 4.8.6* I got the paid plan, it’s fine and quite repetitive, but I end up using other audio sources on YouTube, Apple Music etc.. Also their on-boarding is inflicted upon you if you reinstall on iOS and you can’t skip it. ### 3/5 — Good but lifetime plan is crazy *2026-08-17, version 4.6.5* The endel app is pretty good. I only use the sleep part which used to be free. My problem is the subscription isn’t a great idea for this and a lifetime plan at £250!!! Have a good day! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Refund Warning!! *2026-08-24, version 4.8.6* I cancelled my subscription during the trial period but was still charged the annual rate. Tried to seek refund through customer service and told they can’t do it through Apple Store. Unfortunately, Apple only shows the free trial. The company charged my card outside of Apple because I received an alert from my credit card company about the charge. It should have been through Apple. Try at your own risk. ### 1/5 — Scam - preying on ppl w/ ADHD *2026-08-23, version 4.8.6* The process of canceling is specifically designed to make it difficult. Incredibly scam-y. Apple should investigate them it’s so bad. The process for cancelling purposefully makes you go to different sites, switches yes/no questions, colors asks over and over if you want to stay (sometime asks if you want to cancel) forces you to leave the site then come back to cancel. It’s unethical and gross. Shame on you. ### 1/5 — Fraud *2026-08-23, version 4.8.6* These individuals are deceivers. I installed the application and terminated it in under a minute, yet I was billed 79.99. I have notified American Express about them. Avoid downloading as the same content can be found on YouTube at no cost. ### 1/5 — Don’t Do It *2026-08-23, version 4.8.6* Don’t Do It. They tell you, you can cancel with in the first week. You do. You fill out the entire questionnaire as to why. They say sorry to see you go. And, they then still charge you. Don’t do it!! ### 1/5 — Terrible App *2026-08-21, version 4.8.6* I purchased this app after seeing it advertised on Facebook. The song featured in the ads is NOWHERE on the app and what they do offer is really disappointing. ### 1/5 — Ads and merch prioritised over user experience *2026-08-19, version 4.8.6* The most valuable space on the app (the home screen) is prioritised for constant stream of promotions even when you’ve subscribed - this is lazy and irritating. Also it seems that instead testing with users and listening to their needs and feedback, users are largely being brushed off or told how they should be using it - bad UX ### 1/5 — A heads up. Been with you for 637 days and I’m about to delete the app due to the CONSTANT harassment to purchase a ‘limited time only’ lifetime subscription. I can’t turn these notifications off and they are annoying me to the point I’m going to delete and cancel. You have 1 month. You shouldn’t harass people who are paying. Show them the offer then stop if they don’t want it. With AI on the rise, developers who demand paying is annoying. Instead of reducing the functionality of the app with the free version, freaking give people a break and let them enjoy it before pushing for money. All the animation stuff on the app looks fake and totally random with no actual functionality. Give me the full version for free so I can actually see if it actually do something real, or if it’s all FAKE ### 1/5 — Double charged, customer support nonexistent *2026-08-13, version 4.8.6* I canceled my subscription ahead of the trial period ending since I opted to purchase the lifetime plan. They charged me for the subscription anyway, on top of the lifetime plan. Reaching out to customer support to get this fixed puts you in an endless loop of automated responses and is useless. I bet the response to this review will be to ask me to reach out to support so they can put me in this endless loop again. As a doctoral student there is a lot of reading, researching and writing involved. I am easily distracted and struggle to focus for long periods of time. However, with this app I have been able to keep my mind on the task at hand essentially until I’m finished with the task or until I stop to take a break. This app has helped me so much with my studies and I will forever be grateful to the developers that were able to make this happen. It was sent back to my account within 10 minutes. I am so amazed by this app’s honesty. It makes me want to give them the $120 back. Because I’ve had other apps like this do that to me before and it was impossible to cancel the subscription and they fought me tooth and nail to get the money back that I requested a refund from my bank so this app is genuinely amazing and good people I give them 100 stars. ### 5/5 — Amazing *2026-08-13, version 4.8.6* I changed my original review. This app actually has far more options than I originally saw and it’s amazing. I do wish I could play more than one solfeggio tone at once, or have the option to disable the added music that comes in. I don’t understand what the science is behind this, but this is not a gimmick. I’ve tried everything…the combo of sounds is different than other sound apps..this actually works!
