This interactive experience is an exploration of a modern war. This is a fictional news-game; a simulation that uses interactivity to explore events. Developed by GameTheNews.net in around two weeks, the game allows users to explore the options open to the a group of rebels as they push a conflict to it's endgame. Each choice the user makes has consequences – the types of military units you may deploy, the political paths you choose to tread. Not only does each choice impact the current status of the game but also your choices may impact the final outcome. Users can play and replay events to see how different choices on the ground might lead to different outcomes. Will you choose to accept peace at any cost? What if the war goes badly and the only options left mean more extreme actions; would you agree to follow this path? This experience has been built from fictional locations and presented in a design that has gone to great lengths to be sensitive to the subject matter it covers. It's a pretty fun game, and I share the views of the app's creator on that war. ### 3/5 — Good game but simple *2013-07-01* I thought it had a good concept but there was not much to the game overall. And to many things are not explained in the info like the cards you don't use are discarded not kept for the next hand, how casualties work, there should also be different difficulties like how it is, is easy and in medium you have less support and they have more, in hard you don't see their cards before you play. Like I said good but to simple. P.S. one if the endings I got when I did a peace treaty with them still said Syria. ### 4/5 — A great serious game *2013-06-24* This is one of the best serious games out there for iOS. If Apple hadn't made the developer remove the meaning and educational elements of the game, it would have easily been the absolute best. ### 4/5 — Revolutions suck... *2013-06-02* I think the idea of this game is that war is bad. I can't seem to get any good outcomes or raise my popularity; either I use the powerful units (assassins, militants) which make people hate me, or I use the weaker units and get stomped by not-Syria. And the only events that fire are bad. The war is usually over within a few months, which I suppose would be a good outcome nevertheless. ### 5/5 — ace *2013-05-31, version 1.3* but apple should let real version out ### 3/5 — Great Potential *2013-04-10* Now that the instant-crash was patched, I see all of the potential that I was hoping for. Only thing is, there is a lot more that could be done to make this a great game. The atmosphere is there, as are the basic mechanics. I wish that there was more variety in cards, a collectible card system, and other strategic elements. Having access to aircraft (perhaps at a dear cost?) would be nice.
