### 4/5 — Very interesting game

*2015-09-29, version 0.4*

It took me a little while to totally figure out what was going on, but once I did I had so much fun

### 4/5 — Doesn't get enough attention!

*2015-04-10, version 0.2.6*

This app is extremely entertaining and I do thoroughly enjoy it, I do not think that it is nearly popular enough for how wonderful it is. "Ending" is a must have.

### 5/5 — Learn by doing

*2013-12-10, version 0.2.4*

Excellent minimalist puzzle game that teaches you everything you need to know through play. In addition to the 60 puzzle boards, an endless maze mode and level editor await.

### 5/5 — Pretty fantastic!

*2013-12-10, version 0.2.4*

Love this game! Extremely difficult, and not terribly well explained (play some if the puzzle levels first), but so much fun once you get the hang of it!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2013-12-09, version 0.2.4*

This game is amazing in every sense of the word. Except it needs a leaderboard, I got 298 on maze mode but don't know if that is good or not.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2013-12-06, version 0.2.4*

Would recommend to anyone looking for a fast-paced roguelike/puzzle game. I love it.

### 5/5 — Worth it

*2013-12-01, version 0.2.4*

Great game, the levels are addicting. I normally immediately turn sound effects in games off but I love the "crunchy" sound this game has.

### 4/5 — Solid iOS roguelike, desperately needs hi score

*2013-09-11, version 0.2.4*

A lovely looking, lovely playing game. Marred only by a lack of high scores in the endless mode---there's no sense if whether I'm improving as a player when death immediately respawns me in a fresh maze.

### 5/5 — Blown out of my chair

*2013-08-19, version 0.2.4*

I've fallen down the rabbit hole and I don't want to comeback!

### 5/5 — Brilliant!

*2013-08-13, version 0.2.4*

Addictive and delightfully frustrating at times, I have yet to solve 1 remaining puzzle but haven't given up. Worth a try.

### 5/5 — Delightful!

*2013-08-13, version 0.2.4*

I love the aesthetic of this game.

### 5/5 — Clever, simple, and fun

*2013-08-12, version 0.2.4*

This is a very clever game that makes you think. It has a good number of levels, a level editor, and even a cool endless mode. The only bug I've found is that it doesn't seem to keep track of which levels you've finished, and the game starts over if you swap out of it. These are probably easily fixable though. This is a great game!

### 5/5 — Great diversion

*2013-08-09, version 0.2.4*

If you're into crawlers, it's a great quick game. A good mix of chess like strategy and crawling. I'd love to see some experience and character upgrades if possible. And the UI? It took me 2 minutes to figure out. Really, just press the buttons.

### 4/5 — Creative game

*2013-08-09, version 0.2.4*

Feels like an rpg chess game. Great sound and artstyle. Addicting too. I would give this 5 stars but the recent update seems to have deleted the previous save file?

### 5/5 — Wonderful little roguelike-puzzle mash-up

*2013-08-08, version 0.2.4*

I've never seen a game quite like this before. It has a single player mode, which has many pre-made levels like most puzzle games, and every few levels a new "enemy", or a new feature is introduced. A randomly generated mode pits you in a more roguelike-ish environment against said enemies.

The puzzle elements and the subtle roguelike elements (player symbol @, random generation, permadeath, running into enemies to kill them) both mesh together, without seeming too much like one or the other. The greyscale theme, the white and grey tiles element along with the way you have to plan out and foresee the consequences of your moves adds a sort of chess-like feeling to the game.

TLDR: A fun, sleek, challenging game that blends together many different types of games seamlessly. I would recommend it to anyone, it's really fun.

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2013-08-08, version 0.2.4*

Great strategy, very basic, what an iPhone game should be. Definitely get this game.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Finally just fed up....

*2015-04-29, version 0.2.6*

The one-screen puzzles are very entertaining, but there's some sort of extravaganza at the end where you ramble on from room to room with no purpose whatsoever. The computer throws incredible force at you so you die endlessly, but apparently you're in a continuum that goes nowhere anyway so dying is pretty much as good as living. Stupid. A waste of time. Aside from that, great game.

### 1/5 — No instructions or tutorial ??

*2013-08-24, version 0.2.4*

ATTN DEVELOERS: I would like to rate this game higher, but right now I can't. There are absolutely no instructions or tutorial. I have tried to figure it out myself, but to no avail. So right now unfortunately, this game is unplayable to me. It looks like alot of fun. Please help us folks out who just need a little instructions and I'll gladly up my rating. Thanks 😃

### 1/5 — Worst UI In Recent Memory

*2013-07-01, version 0.2.3*

There's no text whatsoever, only bad icons that don't hint at what they do.

The game can be interesting but this UI is just terrible.

### 1/5 — Does not work on iPhone 5

*2013-07-01, version 0.2.3*

Fails to load and then opens safari and asks you to download Flash player. Huh?

### 1/5 — No sound settings

*2013-06-26, version 0.2.3*

Plays sound no matter what.

### 2/5 — Horrible user interface

*2013-07-26, version 0.2.3*

Miserable rounds and rounds of levels run the game into sheer pointlessness.

### 3/5 — Fun but needs some interface work

*2015-04-21, version 0.2.6*

The game itself is very fun. My biggest complaint is that I have no idea what the menu buttons do as they aren't labeled at all nor are the symbols intuitive. This was very frustrating to deal with. Secondly, I see no apparent marking of levels you have beat or not so that if you lose your place you are forced to have to navigate even more confusing menus. Gah! If you're trying to be artsy, just stop and make a better interface

### 3/5 — Sound plays no matter what?!

*2013-07-12, version 0.2.3*

I like this game, but it plays sound even when my phone is in silent mode, and that's a huge problem. The only way to silence the sound is to turn your volume all the way down, which makes your alarm not work. Big problem! Will be very happy to play this game once it's fixed.

### 3/5 — Fun so far, but...

*2013-06-19, version 0.2.3*

It has been fun to play so far, but I'm only a few levels in.

However, it plays sound when my phone is set to silent and that's a big problem.

### 4/5 — Fine.

*2016-02-04, version 0.4*

Game is good but it is _not_ a roguelike. This is a puzzle game, make sure you know that before buying it. No gear, no leveling up, no permadeath. Puzzles.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Sweet, sweet doom.

*2020-08-21, version 0.4*

Smooth interface, delightfully strange. Tell more in the description about gameplay and more people should buy.

This game features a difficulty that ramps up very steadily. There is a bleak procedural beauty to it all that manifests in more crowded rooms and exotic objects. When you take a step back and look at a tremendously convoluted screen, and think how deep in you are, it gives momentary chills.

Definitely my favorite abstract game, and so happy this is still compatible 5 years later.

### 5/5 — Clever movement puzzles

*2018-06-11, version 0.4*

If you’re familiar with the movement mechanics of NetHack or another turn-based roguelike, this takes those movement mechanics and pairs them with clever movement-constraining enemies who do things like push you or rotate before they make a move. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Excellent game

*2016-01-19, version 0.4*

Lots of fun!

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2015-10-23, version 0.4*

Perfect, pick-up-anytime roguelike. Challenging. Minimalist, restrained.

More levels (or more games from developer) please.

### 5/5 — Chess-like roguelike

*2015-07-31, version 0.3*

Awesome strategy game. Abstract minimalist roguelike that feels a bit like chess. It has built in levels that teach you the rules as well as a procedurally generated gameplay type. I love the aesthetic and design.

### 5/5 — Last update shrunk iPad air screen

*2015-07-31, version 0.3*

I open the app and only the top left quadrant of the screen is filled. Please fix. I'm looking forward to the new levels.

IPad Air

### 5/5 — This one is truly fun

*2014-11-16, version 0.2.4*

This is one of those hidden gems that the description just doesn't capture the true enjoyment of the game

### 5/5 — 9/10

*2014-09-05, version 0.2.4*

I'm happy to say these reviews are accurate. This game rocks! It's very smart and difficult, but not dauntingly so.

One of the very best App Store purchases I've ever made.

### 5/5 — Fun and kinda spooky

*2014-05-13, version 0.2.4*

Love it. Had no idea what I was getting into but enjoyed figuring it out. Spooky little dungeons; hits all the right notes for me. More games like this!!

### 5/5 — Great minimalistic puzzler!

*2013-12-31, version 0.2.4*

Great puzzle game in its own right AND an excellent introduction to the genre of roguelikes. True to the @ and permadeath roots
