You can’t look up meanings or practice stroke order; it focuses entirely on the pure act of writing. You may even encounter kanji you’ve never seen before, leading to new discoveries. The only thing i would appreciate more would be if the box sizes were increased maybe 30% in size. Being American and not brought up writing kanji, my handwriting isn't as compact and neat as that of a Japanese.
