### 3/5 — Try their other apps.

*2023-01-17, version 4.1.10*

If you want the old setup, try using WattWise or HouseTrack. They are all from the same developer. Anyway, I've been using HouseTrack for a few days, and it’s the old Curb app with the same privacy policy. I would love to get more acute usage stats, but all of my monitors are clustered into one zone. Curb says they can’t program zones, the electrical contractor is responsible. Still trying to figure how that works. Why can the contractor label and designate zones, but the client cannot. And what magic software do they use that’s not available to the homeowner?

### 1/5 — Driving customers away 101

*2022-08-30, version 4.1.10*

This app is hot garbage. I’ve tried using it since the update. The previous version was not pretty but at least I could tell how much I was consuming/producing. All I want is to be able to see the same info as on the website.

### 1/5 — Simplified and fairly useless

*2022-08-19, version 4.1.10*

I used the old app to understand both real-time and combined power loads over different timeframes. This new “simplified” app doesn’t do this. Basically people willing to invest in this kind of infrastructure do so because they want detailed understanding. This app is simplified enough to no longer be useful to me. As a long term customer, I’m disappointed.

### 1/5 — This App is garbage

*2022-05-29, version 4.0.9*

The app freezes constantly. I believe the displays mixed up the solar production, grid and household consumption. So the values reported make no sense.
On iPad this app is even worse. It does not change with iPad orientation, the fonts are all messed up. Displays are on top of each other.
The older version of this app was barely usable. This update made it totally useless.

### 1/5 — App freezes when opened

*2022-05-12, version 4.0.1*

App shows opening screen, but unresponsive to all inputs.

### 1/5 — The app is not working

*2022-05-07, version 4.0.1*

When I open the app just turn white and nothing alls happen

### 3/5 — Why do you hate your customers?

*2022-04-23, version 4.0.1*

Curb had a mobile app, it wasn’t the greatest but it worked. Now it’s been replaced by…
Is there a way to use the old app if it works better for us?

### 1/5 — The new app is horrible

*2022-04-08, version 4.0.1*

The new app doesn’t even open on my phone. My partner can use it on his phone but it’s horrible and we can’t look at historical data.

### 1/5 — Downgrade

*2022-04-07, version 4.0.1*

This must be the worst app upgrade ever. All functionality and reporting gone. Completely useless now.

### 1/5 — Seems to be totally broken

*2022-04-06, version 4.0.1*

We use CURB for commercial energy monitoring and have 30+ hubs. This app doesn’t work at all with our site and and has completely removed any mobile functionality for us. Please contact me directly and I’m happy to share the issues . mike AT austonia DOT us

### 1/5 — Not as good

*2022-04-02, version 4.0.1*

The previous Ap was a lot more Inter active and customer friendly. This one has misappropriate tab sizes overlapping.

### 1/5 — This update is a disaster

*2022-04-01*

Bring back the old version

### 1/5 — Worse than useless

*2022-04-01, version 4.0.0*

This “new” version of the app has no accommodation for iPad orientation or screen size, loses itself into blank screens, and displays text in impossible sizes overlaid over other text.

Sad to say the new owners of Curb apparently want to abandon long time customers, based on this update.

### 3/5 — Notifications

*2022-03-28, version 3.3.9*

Thanks for reminding me 6 times to turn off notifications.

### 1/5 — Pretty good but....

*2021-06-27, version 3.3.9*

So after some initial problems with the first curb unit and another unit getting installed I gotta say, the support I received from the team was excellent where they made sure my usage was tracking correctly, the app is pretty simple making it easy to navigate however, it says you can get an in depth look at your usage....not really. And if your using your phone you can't just click on a time because you'll magically deselect everything you have to hold, but then you're thumb is in the way of all the info for that time your holding on. My other major gripe is that I can't see my total usage of power for that day at a glance, this means that I have this cool unit and app and still have to go on to APS's app the next morning to see my total usage for the day prior. It woukd be so easy to put the total power usage in the little power wheel in bottom left hand corner. So where this filled in the gap of aps for real time at the moment, it fails in giving me overall data and I'm now stuck using two apps and still waiting for the following day. Please add this feature and feel free to contact me for more information regarding this. I'd be happy to explain further to eliminate any need to use the aps app, other than that some pretty good features although I could care less about smart things.

Edit: curb reached out to me and showed me to use the graph by setting to 1 week and using the kwh hours (sum symbol) which will show each day on a scale. Issue resolved! Took a bit long to figure this out but thank the curb team for reaching out. Will update to 4 stars. See next edit.

Edit: 27 June 2021. I am now having an issue after iPhone updated where the graph is squished/small when I turn my phone sideways. Running iPhone 11 with newest update. Please fix.

### 3/5 — Not working correctly

*2020-06-23, version 3.3.5*

This app does not give me my production numbers. It only shows how much energy I’m using. Would really like this bug to be fixed so I can see how much energy I’m producing in contrast to how much I’m using.

### 1/5 — Won't open on iOS 12.1

*2018-12-01, version 3.2*

App stuck in the endless chord logo spinning after updated phone to iOS 12.1. PLEASE fix.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Login doesn’t work

*2026-06-16, version 4.2.1*

Same here login doesn’t work for me. I’ve had the same username and password for quite a long time and it doesn’t log me in not on the app nor the website.

### 1/5 — App broken

*2025-07-15, version 4.2.1*

Login doesn't work anymore. No errors, just does nothing when clicking the button.

### 1/5 — Now charging you for access to your data

*2024-12-10, version 4.2.1*

I loved the Curb box in my electrical panel. I learned a lot about our power consumption by reviewing the detailed time series charts. Then they removed those charts from the app. So now I just go to the full website to see them. The app is fairly useless without the charts.

But now, as of Nov 2024, they are going to stop providing access to that data unless you subscribe to their service for a minimum of $4.99/month. This is not payment for or within the app. There will be no way to access your own data kin any way without paying Curb. Not in the app, not on the website, not through the API.

But keep in mind that you own the Curb box in your electrical panel. You bought it, even if it was included in your solar system installation. I have a warranty that describes me as the “end user purchaser.”

So even though I own the physical device, I can’t access my own data about my own electricity use without paying them monthly.

### 1/5 — Slow and buggy, switching to paid subscription. Stay away

*2024-12-03, version 4.2.1*

They installed my system incorrectly so Enphase monitoring does not work properly. They refuse to fix it and are charging a monthly subscription now to use Curb. I think Elevation Solar is going bankrupt and this is a cash grab. I regret installing a Curb device with my solar system.

### 1/5 — Garage App

*2024-11-12, version 4.2.1*

I don't get this app. As the other reviewer said, the Housetrack app is what this app used to be. Why change it? Why have multiple apps? I literally can't do anything in this app accept log in and scroll between 4 pages of stuff that make absolutely no sense. Nothing can be clicked on. Had Housetrack not been mentioned, I would've been scratching my head at the curb app wondering what the point is. My solar company installed the curb unit, so I expect to use the curb app along with it, but it's unusable.

### 1/5 — No graph charts anymore.

*2022-12-31, version 4.1.10*

The new version of this app forces bar graphs which are not as useful as the historical line graphs. You don’t get to see when something ran anymore. All you can tell is that something ran on a day or week or months you don’t get to see when it happens. That data is extremely helpful and to have it taken away is highly disappointing.

### 1/5 — Bring Back the Previous Version

*2022-12-01, version 4.1.10*

The “updated” app is lacking so many features the previous version had. Delete it and bring back the old version. Whatever this “elevation” takeover was has ruined the mobile experience. I have to rely on the website now.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2022-11-04, version 4.1.10*

The new app doesn’t tell you anything. No charts or trends/usage over time. They’ve simplified all the usefulness out of the old app and created a worthless app. I would gladly take the old app over this.

### 1/5 — Bring back the old interface

*2022-10-03, version 4.1.10*

Your customers bought the curb to get more information, not less. The new interface is just useless.

### 1/5 — New version of app only shows instantaneous usage

*2022-09-06, version 4.1.10*

The previous version showed historical telemetry curves, so you could see how solar, battery, and grid usage changed over a day (think while you are not able to stare at the app screen). This new version from a few months ago removed all that. If you didn’t update the app it’s all still there and of great use, but this new version is disappointing to say the least. I think I’d go with Emporia if I could choose again.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2022-12-05, version 4.1.10*

I ❤️Curb Energy Monitoring

### 5/5 — Home Energy Awareness

*2022-03-31, version 4.0.0*

Finally I can see, in detail, how my home energy — and money — is being consumed. Awareness is the first step in improving a situation.

### 5/5 — Instant Savings!

*2017-12-22, version 3.0*

Great product! I didn’t realize until I used CURB that my hot tub and game room lights were using a significant amount of electricity. The next day I changed 10 lights to 65w LEDs and adjusted the automatic timer on the hot tub. I will save $45 a month just from doing those two things! I check it everyday.

### 5/5 — Best app for monitoring energy use!

*2015-05-16, version 1.1.1*

Love this app! Can't imagine life without it after moving into our new house!

### 5/5 — Nice app!

*2015-01-31, version 1.0.3*

Really cool to see the by-circuit data. I need one!

### 5/5 — Fan

*2015-01-23, version 1.0.3*

Love the interface here. I can see myself using this app on a daily basis to check my energy usage. The realtime feature is nifty too!

### 5/5 — Cool app! Great interface!

*2015-01-23, version 1.0.3*

Can't wait to see how much money we can save on our monthly electricity bill. Thanks Curb!

### 5/5 — Good app, great product

*2015-01-11, version 1.0.3*

The interface is nicely laid out, and the back end for recording power works great. As someone who works in data presentation, it can be hard to present amalgamated real time data concisely, and Curb has done a great job. The demo is great to give a view of the app. The app needs real-time data, so if your cell coverage isn't great, it can lag. Really the future of control and viewing of data in the internet of things.

### 5/5 — Great Idea

*2015-01-11, version 1.0.3*

What a great idea and cost saver! Learned a lot about my own energy usage and am now much more aware. Two thumbs up!

### 5/5 — Genius Energy Savings App!

*2014-11-29, version 1.0.2*

This app is so cool. It shows me how much energy everything my house is using and what it costs. The tips on how to use less energy are super useful.
