### 5/5 — Superb! First app every day. ✔︎

*2024-02-13*

Latest update especially nice for iPhone users: easy reading and access. I’m old fashioned: I also like the *print* edition on my iPad. (Gotta have comics!) Nothing like the daily news with a cuppa coffee. First thing every morning. We love hearing from and about our neighbors. Gotta stay in touch. We love you, Santa Fe.

### 5/5 — Used daily. We count on our daily paper. First app every day!

*2022-08-17, version 4.11.9*

Nothing like the daily news with a cuppa coffee. First thing every morning, delivered to your doorstop, and we don’t even have to walk out to the end of the driveway! Yeah, half the news we may have seen a day earlier online. But WTH, O? These are neighbors. We love hearing from and about our neighbors. Gotta stay in touch. We love you, Santa Fe.

### 5/5 — Best digital

*2022-04-27, version 4.11.9*

These folks have their digital act totally together. I subscribe to 5 newspapers and the SFNM is by far the best, easy to use, easy to read - actually couldn’t be done any better. Bravo!

### 4/5 — New Mexican

*2021-09-13, version 4.11.9*

E-subscription just stopped working, can no longer log in even though we have paid.

### 5/5 — The BEST newspaper in the whole US

*2021-09-09, version 4.11.9*

I lived in Santa Fe for 20 years, and had to move to Albuquerque. But I couldn’t exist without the New Mexican, so I’ve been subscribing to the e-New Mexican ever since. The first thing I do every morning is read it. Every morning.
The New Mexican has the best coverage of National and international events. It includes articles from The Washington Post and The New York Times (disclosure: I subscribe to both) as well as articles written by Santa Fe residents that are then published by those prestigious newspapers. But the New Mexican brilliantly captures the essential National and international news plus the state news. Everything I need to know.
It’s interesting how the Albuquerque Journal distorts the news by NOT publishing important news and keeping it’s readers in the dark … while being spoon-fed conservative-leaning articles. Sigh. I guess that’s the Republican playbook in action. So sad.
Keep informed! Subscribe to the New Mexican. It’s the best gift you can give yourself.

### 5/5 — Love the (e) NMexican

*2021-08-31, version 4.11.9*

I LOVE The Santa Fe New Mexican for its local and investigative reporting and writers, its excellent photographers, and its editorial choices in presenting a broad, balanced, representative mix of nat/international stories from other media (partic the AP).

I now live out of state and subscribe also to the Wash Post and the NYT but if I could only get one, yours would be my choice for satisfying scope of coverage.

I find that the e-New Mexican is also much easier and enjoyable to read than the other online presentations of print edition and online. Your pages flip and expand more easily. (Perhaps because I only get the "e-hard copy" and don't check your website) I find my access to news, features, and opinion reliably straightforward whereas the two national papers present (to my mind) a lopsided offering of opinion/analysis embedded within a breaking news and most-read stories online format without good connection to various sections (your section offerings I find very satisfying).

Thank you for the thought and hard work/ talent that goes into your daily and much appreciated enterprise. I value you very much.

Best,
Sara Hope Franks

### 5/5 — Wonderful print edition substitute

*2021-06-14*

On phone or tablet, this digital edition of the New Mexican reads like the original. When the economics of home delivery service become unsustainable, my subscription will continue, thanks to the care they’ve put into this app.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2021-06-10, version 4.11.9*

This is a close as you can come to having an actual paper newspaper in front of you. Easy to navigate and great format.

### 5/5 — Great Daily Newspaper!

*2021-04-29, version 4.11.9*

I read the SFNM 1st thing every morning via the digital subscription on my iPhone. Then I move on to the NEW YORK TIMES and WASHINGTON POST (also digital editions). As for much of the latter 2 papers’ national & international news, I have already digested it from the SFNM.
So many cities and communities have lost their daily newspapers. I count our award-winning daily SFNM among my Top Five reasons for loving life in Santa Fe.

### 5/5 — I love the eNewMexican

*2021-04-20, version 4.11.9*

I love reading the "paper" on my iPad.
The Santa Fe NewMexican is a rock solid community newspaper, in business for a hundred years or so.
The New Mexican keeps me up in local and international news, and has the best Weekly magazine...The Pasatiempo

I especially admire the way this newspaper has kept going during the pandemic, keeping up with good local news events, and cheering me up consistently.

Thank You All"

### 5/5 — Excellent journalism

*2021-01-02, version 4.11.9*

The Santa Fe New Mexican demonstrates how important it is to have a local high quality newspaper. You have local, national, and international news, interesting editorials and a wonderful teen perspective in the Generation Z page. The youth bring me hope that we can come together to improve our current economic, social, and environmental issues with compassion, integrity, and science. Thank you for hearing their voices and giving them a platform. I also await avidly for Sunday to read Canutito. These stories provide a real sense of the roots of New Mexican culture. The only wish I have is that you produce a Spanish Language Version of the whole paper. Perhaps you could start with the Sunday edition.

### 5/5 — Subscription

*2020-12-26, version 4.11.9*

I have a subscription, but I am not able to use the app!

### 5/5 — Thankyou for providing good news coverage

*2020-12-03, version 4.11.9*

Knowing pandemic challenges, we are grateful for your tenacity and dedication Elise and George Packard

### 5/5 — Really like this way to read the paper!

*2020-11-15, version 4.11.9*

Works reliably, and the view of the print edition is clearer than print. Photos are beautiful, and so are the comics. Please keep this edition going - so much nicer than web-formatted papers!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bias

*2026-04-01, version 8.1*

Would like full spectrum of opinions. Frustrating to read The New Mexican.

### 1/5 — Rip off

*2025-11-05, version 8.1*

I have been charged hundreds of dollars for a subscription I have never been able to access. I’ve called for help repeatedly and still can’t get into my account. They are good at taking my money, but terrible when it comes to providing the product I pay for.

### 1/5 — More bugs

*2025-03-23, version 7.1.24*

With the March 23 update on (iPad) the page menu at the bottom is blank- no pages shown. And also on iPad, the drop down menu at the upper right hasn’t worked for months. It appears, then instantly disappears.
Please check for proper app functionality on all platforms! Thank you!

### 1/5 — Fix the bugs

*2023-02-03, version 6.6*

New app provides no better experience than the previous. Lots of blank thumbnails. Duplicate issues listed. No good way to manage and delete downloaded issues. The pop up dialog for articles is a bad idea - reader should show articles full screen

### 1/5 — App Dysfunctional

*2020-03-13, version 4.9.5*

Support person and app are USER HOSTILE. On my iPad: Account start-up, Menus, Login, Open to read, are quirky and put user in to endless loop and error messages. When logging in via Internet to newspaper main website most all seems to function - THIS APP DOES NOT FUNCTION! (p.s. I teach computer classes)

### 2/5 — Won’t download daily additions without reinstalling the app

*2025-10-28, version 8.0*

I contacted support (circulation) at the New Mexican a few days ago because new editions were not appearing in the app. They advised that I delete and reinstall the app. That worked for the day. For the past 4 days I have had to do this each day to get the daily paper. I hope the “3rd party” who manages the app can provide a solution!

### 2/5 — good content; sub-par app functionality

*2025-09-26, version 7.1.24*

solid regional news reporting; convenient PDF delivery format, reflecting the-paper-as-published … but, account management and customer support functions are limited and *unreliable*, requiring access to the website (independent of the app and not ‘linked’) to actually do much of anything … seems that app is just about collecting money and that users are on-their-own for delivery or account ‘issues’

### 2/5 — Couldn’t sign in

*2020-02-06, version 4.9.5*

Tried to set up an account but no luck...

### 2/5 — New issues of the paper are not shown

*2017-11-08, version 4.9.5*

The current issue of the paper is never shown on the “Available Now” page unless you force close the app and re-open it. Very annoying. This is on iPad Pro 10.5 with iOS 11.0.3.

### 3/5 — Why can’t it be like any other newspaper app

*2020-05-03, version 4.11.4*

how hard could that be?, you open the app and there it is the latest news (sigh)

PLUS Jim Weber is an incredible photographer and I am so grateful to get to see his work.
Thank you for your dedication to what it takes to operate a small newspaper AND make it big league in quality.

### 5/5 — Best in the West

*2026-04-02, version 8.1*

The New Mexican is a treasure. Its colossally great reporting and broad coverage make it a rate treasure. Northern Newmexicans are muy fortunate.

### 5/5 — Wonderful print edition substitute

*2026-02-04, version 8.1*

On phone or tablet, this digital edition of the New Mexican reads like the original. I’ve used it for several years.

### 5/5 — Local Coverage

*2026-02-02, version 8.1*

### 5/5 — Great paper for northern New Mexico

*2025-12-07, version 8.1*

We moved to Santa Fe in 2022 and the New Mexican is really the only way to stay informed of all things happening locally.

### 5/5 — Audio sucks

*2025-12-02, version 8.1*

Wish you would improve the Audio. I like to listen to the news and that ai voice is terrible.

### 5/5 — Great coverage!

*2025-12-02, version 8.1*

This paper gives me so much good information about what’s going on in Santa Fe— in the arts, politics, business, the environment and more. Indispensable and well-written.

### 5/5 — Best source for news in the greater Santa Fe area and all of New Mexico

*2025-10-28, version 8.0*

Locally owned and one of the best local independent newspapers in the country

### 5/5 — Excellent Local and National News

*2025-10-27, version 8.0*

We appreciate the reporting of local and national news.

### 5/5 — First thing every day. My favorite read ✔︎

*2024-03-03, version 7.0.23*

Gotta stay in touch with the people and place I love. Now this app has made it easier on my iPhone too (but I still love print format on my iPad—so I can read the funnies!) We’ve subscribed for decades. Always will.
