For example, the app showed me a temperature value of -5 degrees Celsius but as the app kept collecting more data points as time progressed the older value of -5 degrees kept changing every time I downloaded more temperature values from the device to my phone app. The rest of the temperature values didn’t change but this particular value of -5 kept changing wildly. ### 3/5 — Good but room for improvements *2025-01-17, version 2.4.0* Does the job but needs better contrasting colours on some screens/graphs for better visibility. UI is poor and some basic functionalities are missing. ### 4/5 — Needs push notifications *2024-01-22* Just got a new ink bird and have started using the app for the first time. Seems to work fine, however the “alert me” function only works if the app is opened. This is silly, as I can see the temp as soon as I open the app, I don’t need a car alarm to tell me it’s out of range. I thought the app would send a push notification when the temp goes out of range, that would be much more useful! Also then if you could “mute” alerts for a selected time period eg 5 mins, 10 mins, 30 mins, 1 hour. So that you do t keep getting push notifications if you don’t want them. Doesn’t work! ### 1/5 — Will not connect to an iPhone *2022-12-12* Software still doesn’t work!!! I contacted this company a couple of times to express my frustration with the fact that the device does not connect to my iPhone. They said they were making changes for a fix. One year later and it’s still not fixed so the two inkbird Bluetooth pool thermometers that I purchased are useless! Don’t waste your time purchasing an inkbird pool thermometer!!! ### 1/5 — Kinderspielzeug *2022-11-16* Grosse Fehler bei der Temperaturanzeige , sehr geringe Reichweite, oft Übertragungsfehler, eingelesene Daten werden - wenn - erst nach Neustart der App und neuem Laden angezeigt. Use InkBird Pro instead. Also not finding all my sensors. This app shows 5, pro app shows my 6 units it should see. ### 1/5 — No Notifications - not useful *2022-11-05* App does not have a notification push function for iphones which makes alerts on temperature fluctuations impossible. If you store Insulin, this could be a deadly issue. Messages only appear if you open the app itself. Truly a worthless app for notifications. ### 2/5 — V 2.4.0 has problems *2022-10-17* I use this app daily to collect data from multiple devices. I was disappointed when the app updated this week. The “day” data page says no data is present even when it is. You can see the data is there by selecting week, then day. The csv output has been reformatted. Date and time are now two fields instead of one. This required a rewrite of the program into which I feed the temperature data. The column headers in the new version do not match the column contents. The version info says this update was for bug fixes. I had not encountered any bugs in the previous version, but this version is full of bugs. I hope a new bug fix is in the works. ### 1/5 — No Alerts *2022-10-06* The app doesn’t use the notifications API so you will not get banners, sounds, or badges when the temperature goes outside your set range. You have to open the app to get an alert. At which point you could just read the temperature. Since I wanted to know if a cooler in a trailer behind the car had become unplugged this wouldn’t tell me unless I looked. So instead of stopping to physically check the cooler now I could open the app. An improvement but not the one I expected. It still required me to remember to check frequently check. BONUS. The app plays the sound of a car horn honking if you open it in an alert state. If you are connected via CarPlay you’ll think your car is honking. ### 1/5 — Great hardware, terrible app *2022-10-04* I own a few Inkbird controls and I was excited to try another product with app support. Like the controls, the hardware is solid, the app, however, is underdeveloped. The UI is incredibly basic. It looks and feels like it was developed for a child - assuming the demographic for the device I purchased, though, is science/engineering. It also doesn’t offer much. No IFFF support. You can see a basic trend chart, but you can’t export it. The app freezes and doesn’t refresh the temp without closing/reopening. Also doesn’t have the ability to bring in things like the local temp to compare against the device temp. In 2022, it would be well worth the investment to developers a core app that pairs with all the Inkbird products. That would be a huge selling point. I noticed another Inkbird app in the store, but it also looks underdeveloped and doesn’t support the product I purchased. At this stage in the game, the market really expects products to come with that level of support. Inkbird already does that hard part well - the hardware - they just need a solid dev team to build this out. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not worth it *2026-06-05* Worked well for a couple weeks and for months now nothing. Just changed batteries and it won’t sync up at all. ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2025-02-17* The app worked ok when I had only 4 IBS-TH2 temperature sensors connected to it. It became quite erratic when I added two more sensors. I had to perform the + (add sensor) at least a dozen times before the app could see the sensors with brand new batteries. It would not let me add a 7th sensor. I deleted 3 sensors to get back to 4 sensors total. Now, the app does not report the temp on two of the existing devices and it see a 5th device when I try to add another sensor but it does not show it in the list after the save operation. ### 1/5 — Useless App *2024-11-03* No matter what i did i could not pair with the unit……what a waste of money, ended up throwing in the bin. Do not buy! ### 1/5 — Cannot Change Alarm Set Points or Alarm Sound *2024-10-09* After changing alarm set points they return to original value when going out of Settings to Home. The alarm goes off every time App is opened or returning to home position. Pointless considering that’s the whole reason it was purchased. ### 1/5 — Muy mala app *2023-11-14* La aplicación es muy mala en cuanto a usabilidad, calidad de interfaz gráfica, tiempos de respuesta, y cantidad de funcionalidades. El sensor de temperatura que controla también es bastante malo: al cabo de un tiempo deja de tomar lecturas, almacenando la última única y otra vez, hasta que le quitas y pones las pilas de nuevo. So the only way you can get an alert is if the app is physically opened and you’re viewing data. Which makes the alert pointless. I have many other apps that send me alerts to my Lock Screen with no issues because they install to the system notifications settings tab. It’s been 8 months since the last update. Alarm erfolgt ab 30C Perfekt ### 5/5 — Fix for crash on launch *2021-03-08* Like some other folks in the reviews I experienced the launch crash, which I believe is caused by incompatibility between data stored by previous and current versions. Definitely, the developer should fix this and handle the version migration properly, but an easy workaround is just to delete the app entirely and reinstall. Just offloading the app isn’t enough since the stored app data persists. ### 5/5 — Works fine on iOS14 *2020-12-24* Really no issue from first day, Bought in november 2020, Works only in Wifi at home. Historic temperature and humidification Battery still at 98% after 6 weeks, needs low energy ### 5/5 — Ink bird is great! *2020-07-24* I have calibrated 2 units with a high quality weather meter both units are within 0.1 increments for temperature and humidity. I use the two units for transporting temperature sensitive material for testing. The App is perfect for my use as it has alarms for temperature and humidity levels for each sensor unit. The units travel inside the material containers and the app keeps track of the temps and humidity perfectly! The apps graphical history is useful for better determination of transport procedures. I have been looking for something like this for years and now I have it at a super low price and with better than acceptable quality .
