## What is Engineering Calc?

This application is intended for engineers and students who are looking for a reference tool for electrical and RF engineering. Easily determine the resistor and capacitor values based on their color codes, or vice versa. Calculate electrical values based on Ohm's Law. RF engineers can also simulate a Smith Chart diagram.

This application is created as part of a collaboration project between Keysight Technologies and National University of Singapore.

## Key features

- Resistor color code calculator
- Capacitor color code calculator
- Ohm's Law calculations
- Smith Chart simulation
- Reference tool for engineers and students

### 1/5 — Why?

*2018-09-19, version 2.0*

This is one of the EE tool which you have given up? Really?

### 3/5 — Dead App?

*2017-04-06, version 2.0*

Is this App still supported? Apple App Compatibility shows no updates available for this App that won't be able to run on iOS 11.

### 1/5 — Layout issues on iPad Pro

*2016-08-13, version 2.0*

All modes are ok to use except for Ohm's Law button. It cuts off the results and some entry boxes. Long in the tooth for updating for newer tech.

This is where Apple needs to pull stuff off until fixed. Quality is important

### 4/5 — Needs fixed

*2015-12-13, version 2.0*

The resistor calc has an odd banner across the values and it's rendering the tool useless. Please fix it, thanks!

### 5/5 — Awesome App

*2015-09-02, version 2.0*

Has everything that i need for class!

### 2/5 — Spelling

*2013-08-28, version 1.0*

Check you spelling, converter, not convertor!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2012-09-20, version 1.0*

Every thing and more it's really useful for my electronics class and for learning the color codes.

### 4/5 — Nice work...

*2011-09-29, version 1.0*

I like that you're giving the app away for free - that's cool.

I wish though the Ohm's Law page would display the actual equation rather than keeping that hidden from you. I think displaying the equation, even if you are going to calculate it for them, helps reinforce the concept.

Full disclosure: I wrote Perfboard, an app with a few overlapping features with this one.

### 4/5 — Add dB to Watt conversion

*2011-09-26, version 1.0*

Great app, add dB to Watt conversion for 5 stars!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2011-07-09, version 1.0*

This is a very useful app. Has many functions, a great interface and it's from Agilent.
