The storyline is intense, the puzzles challenging. My only complaint is that there is no fast travel on the map, which makes for a lot of trudging around from place to place. I tried again and again, but crashed every time. I downloaded and PAID thinking, hmm.. maybe it’s the end of the demo. Played until the guy needed help again, and same thing, it crashed. I’m so annoyed. I loved Enigmatis 2, and this game seemed just as good. Please fix this bug. I never have problems with games crashing. Games are challenging and enjoyable. ### 4/5 — A good balance *2022-07-01* I enjoyed the storyline. I did love the art. The hidden puzzles weren’t hard, but not super easy. The artwork was used well, vs the typical ones where things are obvious and you don’t even need to look at the list. This one was well done and not like that. The only complaint I have regarding the hidden object puzzles is that the image didn’t change much so it became too easy by the end as I had seen the same puzzle multiple times. The other thing I am unsure how I feel about, honestly, is the back and forth. I saw no way to fast travel, which was nice at first but it is a LOT of tapping about. What they did best was MAGNIFICENT. They made things make sense. A tire needs to have the rusted lugs loosened with a bit of lubricant and a tire iron. Then a jack with a jack handle attached. There were a few places where cutting objects weren’t best used, but not too bad. Mostly common sense prevailed. The puzzles didn’t always feel like they made sense until you got through it. The instructions felt poor. The language barrier was relevant at times, but overall, very good. Not every hidden object was simply as it seemed, and I LIKED that very much. Made you think for a second. Not two, but still… better than almost all of these types. Off to play the next in the series. So for how short it is it’s kind of expensive. Also found a few bugs. For example in one of the puzzles there was an ear of corn and some wheat that were labeled backwards. There was a puzzle box that you had to input a date from a picture. Before you can even put the date in the box opens, still at all 0s. I loved playing a cheeky and brave female detective on the trail of a missing girl in a very strange town. The story had some excellent misdirection built into it as all good whodunnits have, the voice acting was excellent and the graphics and sound were suitably gothic. This game was notable for some of the hardest hidden object inventory screens I’ve played to date. The only irritant was not having an interactive map to speed up moving from one location to another, but that did mean I had to stop and think a bit more carefully about where to go next (to avoid lengthy retracing of my steps!). It also had the best extra adventure I’ve played, because it was so well integrated into the Maple Creek world of the game and actually served to enhance it significantly. An interesting and well planned out story line, more than acceptable graphics, seamless gameplay, lots of clues to find with a pleasing amount of hidden object scenes. It’s well crafted and has a great amount of gameplay. I’ve owned dozens of HO, Mystery etc. type games and this is definitely one of the best ones I’ve played. And strongly suggest you guys to play it on iPad so you can enjoy the full screen. It is an old fashioned mysterious game and I love it. I remember when I was little, my family had our first iPad and I play it together with my mom. Now I need to take a long trip on the plane, so I downloaded it back. I'm not going to change my five star rating because it's a minor issue. The story is great! The game plays well and I always enjoy it when I play it again.
