I just want to hear the waves sound and that's it. Only to get you so aggravated shortly into the app with levels that are impossible to get past to the point that you begin to hate the app. Until now. I love love love this app. This is the best and most beautifully relaxing app I have ever had the pleasure of trying. I feel myself relaxing almost immediately while listening to the Monks and the Deep Relaxation sounds. I found the background choices meditative and did not need to add additional sounds. The app forces bell, monks, choir, whales, etc. on TOP of the primary sound, and while you CAN listen to lots of sounds at once, you CANNOT just listen to the primary sound (waves, wind, etc.) without adding a second. If you try, it says at least one sound should be played and even the lowest volume of the second is easily heard over the primary. Seriously? Can't simply listen to waves or wind without some accompanying noise like a chime or clock tick. Silly. The developer stopped their work there. #1, yup, the listener has no choice but 2 listen 2 the additional sounds in order 2 listen 2 the main sound. Dude, seriously?!?! U couldn't cre8 & loop these sounds separately???? I get it must b tedious, but it's an APP! HellOOOOO!! Nothing is more annoying than putting an unfinished product out. I can't imagine paying actual $ 4 this. & NO TIMER??? That is seriously lazy. ### 2/5 — Could be great.. *2015-09-28, version 1.2* I have used MANY apps like this and have several on my phone. Never have I seen a relaxation app FORCE you to play a sound. This app forces you to play at least one other sound in addition to the main sound. This app states it was made to help people be more stress free, but this app is only stressing me out more! Sometimes I only want to hear waves or rain alone, not along with a bell or clock in the background. Those are annoying to some people and not relaxing. Unless this changes, I'll be sticking with my relaxation apps that allow me to listen to sounds however I choose. There are also not a lot of additional sounds to choose from, and the ones that are there are still pretty loud on the lowest volume which can be annoying as well when you do just want a very light sound in the background. I did give two stars because the main sounds are good and they have an awesome privacy policy. If the other things mentioned above were to be changed, I'd consider keeping the app and I'd definitely change this review to a positive 5 stars. I know developers work hard, so thank you for what you do. ### 2/5 — A good try, but... *2015-09-28, version 1.2* The base sounds are alright, I suppose (although could be found in numerous other apps) but there aren't too many to choose from and some sound very digital/synthetic. The worst sin is that it forces you to use at least one sound overlay and they're all pretty obnoxious and (for me) don't induce relaxation. Overlay sounds include a bell ringing, clock ticking, piano, flute, etc. All of these seem very intrusive and distracting even at their lowest volumes, so I don't think I'd ever actually use this app for its actual intent. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Does just what I need it to do! *2025-01-29, version 2.0* Simple good sounds and a built in timer.
