## What is enTrainer?

Move to the beat and engage your metabolic health. Experience Musical Running!

enTrainer will match your music's tempo to your running cadence.

It's actually two apps-in-one:

▪ a music player, where you choose iTunes songs and set your target cadence.
▪ a run tracker, with mapping pedometer features to show your route and display your run stats.

enTrainer uses your iPhone’s advanced motion and audio processing to match your cadence, whether you're walking, jogging or running. The new Music Follow Me feature does this automatically.

enTrainer will determine the tempo of music for your entire playlist, then synchronize it to your workout cadence. Every step feels on the beat. It sounds best when the music you choose is within +/- 20% of your desired cadence, however enTrainer will work no matter what.

Enjoy the Run!

Please note the following disclaimers:

▪ While we use it sparingly, continued use of GPS running in the background can decrease battery life.
▪ The music must be in your Apple Music library as downloaded audio files. We cannot support music that is streamed.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.2 — 2026-07-30

We have improved the Tracker so that the pace and distance measurements are more accurate. We have also added beat phase synchronous crossfades in the music so that your cadence always stays solid when your songs are changing. Go to the Settings screen to adjust your preferences and enjoy the run!

### 1.4.1 — 2025-11-18

We have redesigned all screens to be more responsive and colorful. There is also a new warm-up option.

### 1.4 — 2025-01-09

There is a completely new audio engine and tempo detection system that should improve the performance of enTrainer.

### 1.3 — 2016-11-08

enTrainer version 1.3 has been built for and tested with iOS 10 and supports Apple's new privacy requirements when accessing the iTunes Media Library. There are also minor improvements to the main screen layout and a new status message when a song's BPM is being calculated. Enjoy the Run!

### 1.2 — 2016-04-06

- The cadence measurement has been completely re-worked and you don't need to do anything to see it displayed. It now is shown on the enTrainer tab. You will see it next the the "Tempo" setting of the song being played. When Tempo = Cadence, it feels good! Simple, eh?

- Adaptive Sync - is now called "Music Follow Me". This feature works much better, it's more responsive and natural.

- You can now customize the presets with your own labels and tempo settings. That makes it easy, for example, to switch from a running tempo to a jogging tempo.

- Finally, the distance measurements and other stats are more accurate, and behave better with enTrainer's "smart pause" feature.
