### 2/5 — Vehicle connection issues

*2026-07-08, version 3.2.0*

The app in son to bad, but the connection issues with EV persisting. I’ve plugged my EV at 10am, it’s 2 pm and the status is still showing the vehicle is unplugged. You go to FAQ where there is a lot of topics covered, but this one (which look to be a problem for many people) is not there. There is also no direct link (chat option) for support. You can reconnect the vehicles, but that is a major pain then you have 2 vehicles managed in one app. This is the main functionality of the app and it should just work!

### 2/5 — Over running

*2026-06-29, version 3.1.6*

Very disappointed in your app it’s supposed to charge at cheapest time of the day but mine started early then stopped started again after approximately 2.5hr it’s like that all night and I have to pay the extra charge time from 6.am - 7.am (why.)

### 1/5 — No Vestel Charger Integration

*2026-06-20, version 3.1.6*

Change over from Eon Home App to Eon Next Home app has made the Vestel charger totally uncontrollable and with no end date as to when it will be integrated. It was seamless before and now I have to rely on a convoluted set of steps to unreliably charge in the right window.

### 1/5 — Lost for words

*2026-06-19, version 3.1.6*

Firstly a one star is being kind as it should be a zero.
I’ve had the new app for an about a week now and I’ve tried about 5 times to reinstall the app hoping something might be reset or fixed.
It takes forever to even realise your car is plugged in and then you set your schedule to charge and of course zero charge every time.
I rely on my car as a professional driver and am now paying off peak force charging rates or fast charge services.
Made a complaint via the app also a few days ago and had no response.
Absolute joke.
Avoid at all costs

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-06-17, version 3.1.6*

Never works !

### 1/5 — What a joke

*2026-06-11, version 3.1.6*

I had an app that worked and supported vestel, then eon redesigned their app and forgot support. Told me it would be available mid May and now its June, Apple need to remove this app and ban EON. Apple you have a responsibility to ban organisations that have a huge 1 star review..!!! This reflects on your brand

### 2/5 — Needs work

*2026-06-11, version 3.1.6*

I wanted to use the app to charge my car and power my house in cheap periods. I wanted to prioritise cost. However it prioritises charging the car, and doesn’t tell me when power is cheap. So I have no way of maximising benefits. So I have turned the smart bit off.

### 1/5 — Absolutely terrible

*2026-06-06, version 3.1.6*

No access for scheduling my car charger for over a month now. The old app was supposed to be down for a week, before being replaced by this one. This one won’t connect to my vehicle, absolute joke! Eon service is dosgusting, don’t use for your electric, and don’t get a charger installed by eon either. Most unreliable pile of garbage

### 1/5 — Can’t charge my EV that you installed

*2026-06-04, version 3.1.6*

You installed my EV charger had endless problems at first then you changed to app and it’s worked ok … until now. I can’t charge my car without liaising with the folk in Germany (who are at least trying to be helpful). What a shambles….

### 1/5 — Why!!!!

*2026-06-04*

Update 4/6/26: Still doesn’t work. Its connected to my solar panels but shows no data. As Solis were incredibly helpful I use their app now to monitor my solar panel performance. Ive left EON home installed just to monitor if the company actually has the ability to fix it. I find it mind bogglingly staggering how bad this app is and how Eon seem to have given up on it…..And Eon, please don’t email me or add a reply on here claiming how sorry you are…You’re not sorry and there must be a reason this app is so bad that goes beyond incompetence….I just can’t fathom what that reason could be.

EON Home worked fine. And then it was upgraded. Improved. And it no longer tells me anything about my solar panels as it won’t connect. Its 2026. This is a disgrace. How can you get it so wrong!!!!

Update: why do you reply by asking users to email you and then ignore those emails? When you implemented this new app you missed something about the migration of existing users. Something I managed to unpick with the support of Solis. You lot should bow your heads in shame for the total lack of respect for your customers. If you don’t sort it people will go elsewhere…

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize that your experience with our app. Please email eonnext.mobile@eonnext.com with your name, account number and we can assist.

### 1/5 — Continuous problems and charge issues

*2026-06-02, version 3.1.6*

The app needs a big rethink. Each app update causes major issues. This update now requires car reg and mileage but does not proceed requesting valid information. My car now charges at peak rates which can’t be paused through the app. Please sort this out.

### 1/5 — Still does not support the EV charger they sold me

*2026-06-02*

An app already existed to control my Vestel charger. EON sold me the charger. Then they announced that a new app would arrive but that the functionality to connect to my EV charger would not be available until mid-May. It is now June and the functionality is still not there. The old app does not work. It directs me to log into a German website and my existing credentials for that don’t work. For about a month and a half now, I’ve had to manually go outside at midnight to switch the charger on. I am in a ridiculous situation where the charger that EON sold me does not work with their own app. The EV charger is not as sold and I am considering asking them to refund me

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-06-02, version 3.1.6*

This app is horrendous, logging that I’ve changed my BMW I4 twice in a day at the same time not sure how that is possible. It also has lead to failed charges as there seems to be a glitch it sets a departure time on the car 13 hours later than I had set to find I have no charge when I get in the car to goto work. I have deleted it, why release this when it obviously doesn’t work and is not fit for purpose

### 1/5 — Awful

*2026-06-01, version 3.1.6*

I never had a problem with the old app, could always control charging from my phone. With the new app, it just does not work, I have to go back to using the card as the app does not pick up when the car is connected and even if it does, it starts and stops the charge on and off so it’s very difficult to achieve a charge quickly.

### 1/5 — Solar is still not fixed.

*2026-05-28, version 3.1.6*

Zero stars. The app connected to my solar eventually but gave me no data. Now it can’t connect again, so is utterly useless. I do hope they haven’t paid the developer for this app. It’s as much use as a chocolate fire guard!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Hard work

*2026-07-19, version 3.2.0*

Man this app is hard work to use and seems to have little control over what you are doing. My car didn’t charge over night for some reason, pressed the boost button but now cannot stop it charging as there is no stop button. Feels like they want you to use the more expensive tariff by making you not want to use this poor app. Disappointed Eon.

### 1/5 — Stop Auto Activate

*2026-07-15, version 3.2.0*

This app was fine, worked with my Tesla and GivEnergy Charger when I needed to charge the car from the Grid. But I have to deactivate the Smart Schedule if I want my car to charge from excess Solar, a recent change seems to keeps switching smart schedule back on which stops the car drawing charge. Which then means my excess Solar goes to the grid which I don’t get paid for. Why?

### 1/5 — Slow to connect to vehicle

*2026-07-13, version 3.2.0*

App is so slow to connect and communicate with Tesla often charging for 20mins or 1-2kWh of peak usage before stopping and setting up smart charging schedule. Usually need to open the app to force it to refresh. Smart schedule also frequently changes during the one session making it pointless and hard to see the benefit of the lower tariff when managing household power use.

### 1/5 — Atrocious

*2026-07-13*

I switched to eon smart next tariff to save money on charging my new ev. I have tried for days to get this app to work correctly. I put my ohme charger in dumb mode, put my Skoda app settings to default. Set my settings that I wanted on the eon app. It thankfully recognised the car was plugged in and it also created a schedule for me. When the time came it started charging for a few minutes and then stopped. It then started again a bit later on and then stopped. At this point the car wouldn’t have been ready even if it had charged continuously. Morning came and my battery was at 40% from 38. I had asked for 80. I’ve given up and just used the ohme app. Yes I’ll miss out on off peak charges during some peak times but I can’t risk the car not charging. This app is flakier than a well known Cadbury bar. It’s not fit for purpose.

### 1/5 — Please fix this🙏

*2026-07-12, version 3.2.0*

I love the Smart Tariff idea, but the app constantly changes its mind at the last minute making the use of cheap rate difficult. Best to program the car to stick to 12-6 and ignore the app!

### 1/5 — Buggy and unreliable

*2026-07-09, version 3.2.0*

EV charging number 1 rule has to be to provide a reliable charging experience. This is not. Horrible experience.

### 1/5 — Don’t bother that loading it

*2026-07-08, version 3.2.0*

Absolute waste of time, no clear instructions.
Get new developers for the app or sack the ones that are developing it

### 1/5 — Useless App

*2026-06-28, version 3.1.6*

Does not show any data about Solar. Worth NO STARS

### 1/5 — Constantly breaks

*2026-06-25, version 3.1.6*

Why can’t these people leave things alone… the app stopped detecting the car was connecting so I was charging at the peak rate.
I go to resync the vehicle, you now want my milage and VIN?
You at to plug in the vehicle but then say it must be turned off. It’s always on in some form.

Fix your app.

### 1/5 — Rubbish app

*2026-06-24, version 3.1.6*

Only getting 1 star

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent Service

*2026-08-16*

After a terrible experience with a supplier recommended by BMW, I cancelled my order and chose EonNext. I placed my order on a Friday and by the afternoon of the following Wednesday my chosen charging unit was fitted and working perfectly. The engineer who carried out the work was very professional, polite and explained clearly how to get the best out of the unit. I could not have asked for a better service.

### 5/5 — Works

*2026-07-14, version 3.2.0*

Not a perfect integration with my project EV charger, which needs replugging regularly, but this is likely not the fault of the app. The benefit of getting cheap power for the whole house during daytime charging sessions makes this well worth persisting with.

### 5/5 — Vestal charger

*2026-07-10*

Experienced various problems in getting a connection to my new WiFi recently installed. Tried the respective 8 part system, but always ran out of time. However with help from one of the team based in Majorca, he guided me through at ease and I m now connected to both the Drive app and the Next Home app. Let’s all hope that the scheduled system is up and running soon.

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-05-26*

I don’t really understand the hate in the reviews. I do only use this for EV charging so can’t comment on solar or batteries or anything else.

I switched from octopus partly because their app was unreliable at detecting i plugged in my tesla and stopping it from immediately charging (also partly due to the better tariff price with e on for me).

Not had a single issue with this app. Plug in, detects Tesla, schedule made quickly. Have had some cheap daytime slots too.

Would rather it was just part of the normal e-on app than a separate thing but it works well. The main issue was no one from e on told me it existed or that I needed it when I signed up to an EV tariff - I only figured out this app existed and that I needed to register my car in it through an AI chat.

### 5/5 — Great customer support

*2026-02-23*

Work as it should, had trouble connecting my Tesla but all been sorted after finding and started conversation with app developer, had prompt and ongoing communication with Stephen even at unsocial hours of day/ night which kept me up to date to have this sorted, didn’t even had to follow up and never forget to inform me, made me feel like I am a customer and cared for. Great job great man! 5 stars for customer support!

### 5/5 — The app works with a third party charger

*2025-05-05*

I have an OHME home charger . However, I use E.O.N next home app to charge the car at off peak times. The app connects to the car reliably, reads the remaining as well as ongoing charging status, charges the car as per the settings. I would urge the developers to add two additional settings that would make the app much better. 1. Add the option to add a certain percentage charge to the car battery. Currently the charging is done either as boost or upto a limit set by the car’s battery charging settings or the time limits.
2. Provide the accurate cost of each charging episode. Currently the app is unable to provide accurate cost for the charging of the battery.
Thanks for allowing non Eon -Next chargers to use the app. It is a life saver.

### 5/5 — Adds proper remote EV charging

*2024-09-18*

I use this app to schedule my EV charge to take advantage of a cheap overnight EV rate.

It does a good job of adding the charging control missing from the shockingly bad myAudi app, although it is a bit clunky to initiate.

It works by connecting to my Audi account and manipulating ‘charge now’ and ‘charge by’ options in the car to implement a defined schedule.

It works best by leaving my home wall charger (myenergi Zappi) in fast ‘charge now’ mode.

When I plug in the EV (Audi Q4 e-tron) and the EV starts to charge, it takes this app about 5 or 10 minutes to detect that charging has started.

I can then stop the charge in this app, having previously defined my overnight schedule. It appears that this app stops the car charging by switching the car into ‘charge by’ timer mode with a ‘charge by’ timer being set to yesterday(!). This prevents charging in the car, because the car never gets anywhere near the ‘charge by’ time which is set to just under a week away.

At the scheduled time, the app seems to switch the car back to ‘charge now’ mode for the duration of the schedule.

This is something the myAudi app struggles to do without all kinds of spurious errors and charging starting randomly outside of the scheduled times or, worse, not charging at all.

### 4/5 — Good when it works

*2026-05-28*

I find this app to be very hit and miss. When it works it is spot on when it doesn’t then it’s a right pain. I have a Tesla and Hypervolt home 3 pro charger. Usually when I plug in to charge the Eon app takes 10-30 minutes to read that the car is plugged in all that time the car is charging. Charging on the higher rate at that. Then occasionally I plug in and within no time at all the Eon app has read the car is plugged in and the car then shows as idle as it should and awaiting the smart schedule being set

### 4/5 — Going in the right direction

*2025-10-27*

Early issues are clearing up now so time to update my review!! All in this is definitely going in the right direction, can’t wait for the insights to be up and running! Be so good to see what it’s costing to charge my EV each time and then per month to see what saving is being made. Support have been great and the UI of the app is much simpler and clearer than the old app.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize that your experience with our app.

Please email eonnext.mobile@eonnext.com with your name and we can assist you so you can see your EV, Solar and Battery in one place.

### 3/5 — Problematic but can work

*2026-05-30*

We have an Audi q6 and ohme epod - however getting the app to see the cable connected is random - only once has it connected without intervention.
If I plug in and then disconnect and then reconnect it appears to them see the cable plugged in and will then charge .
Am sure it would work better if it could control the ohme and not the car .
Would be really helpful if there was a a full guide for set ups of apps like OHMe and Audi so can ensure that all settings are correct .
It’s great when it works as you can then get some charge at cheaper rates during day / evening but stressful
