It's beautiful and really enjoyable. Sure it may have grammatical and spelling errors, but that's not a major issue for me. What *is* an issue is that I can't transfer my data from one Apple device to another. I have no way of getting back all of what I'd done through the story, or even my 258 remaining points. The plot is amazing and the characters are great. I love the fact that you can play the game without paying money. There is a point system where you can complete tasks and then with those points that you get, you can continue playing the game. (Tasks include things like taking surveys and reaching certain levels in different games.) My complaint with this is that I’m not always receiving my points that I’ve earned. This is quite frustrating aaa some of the tasks take a while to complete. It’s annoying to just waste my time like that. My other complaint is just that there are some typos and grammar issues. Still, overall, amazing game. Some problems I faced is spelling errors and the endings. There were SO many spelling errors and I understand the company is not an American or English company, but if they make a game in English, the translation should be easy to read. Another issue I faced was the endings felt very unsatisfactory. An ending should close up a story and with a good ending, it should feel satisfying. I felt at the end like a piece of coal because of the very big possibility that your character will be sad and ugly in a few hundred years although I understand it would be difficult with how they imagined monsters would work. I do really actually like the idea and I believe it was quite creative with also some beautiful characters! ### 2/5 — Rated 2.5 Stars *2016-05-14, version 1.0.0* I haven't purchased any of the routes yet, but here's my first impression of this game: The artwork is breathtakingly beautiful and the music is aurally pleasing, which gives off a gothic/spooky vibe that fits perfectly in the story; the characters are interesting and I really enjoy the fact that they're monsters from the Western versions, which is something I haven't seen in otome games yet; and so far I found the plot very interesting, BUT the translation in this game became a major deal breaker. Even though there's no typos or misspelled words, the dialogue felt really awkward and some of the grammar was messed up. Here's a dialogue example from Shiba's route: "When the teacher asked you to be my supporter, you also replied him that you didn't mind to be." ... "...bones. The zombie will become bones?" "Yes. Didn't you know that?" "I don't know. It's also my first time to see a zombie. Oh, yeah. Why do you want to come here? The zombie is...indeed...being sheltered, right? For the reason...prevent being infected...? Oh...! Yeah! I will be infected something from you!" I love this game and want to play it, but I just can't get past the very bad and awkward grammar. If this company gets a better translator, then I'll gladly buy the stories. ### 3/5 — Great but needs some change *2022-01-11, version 1.3.2* The storyline is awesome, the characters are awesome, so are the graphics, but there are two major problems. First of all, there are many translation errors, so some sentences are hard to understand. Also, the point system. to read a chapter, you need 40 points, but we receive 35 daily. We can only do surveys to gain more, and sometimes there aren’t enough surveys and they take a while to load back! You should put an ad system, where we could watch an add for a certain amount of points. ALMOST ALL THE DIALOGUES I HAVE TO SOME WHAT TRANSLATE THEM IN MY HEAD first to MAKE SENSE before I can move on reading the next line. 😩 ALSO, a lot of typos between lines. 😩 The words of choosing sometimes misleading me of what the characters really mean....... killing all the fun reading at this beautiful story. 😵 ### 3/5 — Not that great *2018-07-19, version 1.3.2* I’ve played a lot of these games and this is one of the worst. The grammar in this horrible! It seems like it was written as a fan fiction. When people talk, it’s so awkward. But I was thinking, why not introduce some characters as new love interests? You could even have an Olivia or Erika route, although I’m not entirely sure how that would work out. Translation: 2/5. STORY The story is absolutely gorgeous as you read through the characters. The routes make your heart ache in a way that is rare in this happy-romances-only world because of the setting. The MC belongs in the lowest race— zombies. A lot of romance tropes are about marrying a rich person or one of higher status. But Ephemeral takes it in a completely different direction. It actually addresses all the hardships that comes with the lowest caste and with a high one— the discrimination, the bullying, deadly danger, and responsibility— in a real manner that clenches your heart. CHARACTERS The characters could not fit into their races better, which is especially true for Nagi, Ray, and Natsume. The fates they are subjected to because of their races also make their routes especially touching. The MC is the naive type, yes. But she is that way because of her sheltered upbringing (and there’s a reason for this as well!). TRANSLATION If you are a stickler for proper English, you might not be able to bear with it. The Japanese to English translation is horrible. The mistakes are understandable, especially if you know an asian language, but they are everywhere. I finished the game and the English is only in a couple places completely incomprehensible, so I suggest that most of you give it a long hard try because the story is so worth it! GAMEPLAY This story can be played completely for free for the best ending you can get. You get 35 points per login and one point per video watched (optional). Unlocking each episode takes 40 points, but you can just login several days ans space out reading the story. I personally just logged in everyday and then binged. But if you can’t wait, it’s well worth your money to buy a character’s route or watch videos to support the developers. Also, the CGs are gorgeous! My only complaints are that one, you can’t read the other ending unless you go back and remake the choices to max the ending bar (but there is a handy skip button for your second read); two, the translation. Note: Natsume’s route is DARK, although fittingly so. I recommend you read him last, or at least after reading Nagi or Ray. VERDICT If you want stories that makes you feel, this is the one. ### 5/5 — Stories?? *2019-09-07, version 1.3.2* I know all story’s must come to an end and I am really thankful for the lovers part addition❤️ but I’d like to know will there be one more part talking about the marriage and what happens in all of the ending situations of each story cause I’m really curious after finishing 2 characters plus the 😉“Mummy’s”😉lovers part I really want to know what happens next‼️‼️‼️also thank you for making such a WONDERFUL game❣️❣️❣️I really enjoyed playing it I’ve had it for so long and was soooo happy to see the addition to the story’s 😁the production team is amazing‼️‼️😄👍🏾keep up the good work ### 5/5 — Love this game! *2019-08-31, version 1.3.2* I love this game and the idea and story is awesome!
