### 2/5 — Great till recent updates

*2026-08-20, version 11.9*

Was great until recent updates not compatible with Abridge. Hope there’s a fix soon

### 2/5 — Patient search function

*2026-08-19, version 11.9*

Many things are determined by one’s institution, but some are held by Epic. The patient search function is one of them. So many names are common, and trying to find your patient among a sea of huge patient populations is impossible. They are sorted by “relevance” but that is not true. Relevance would yield a patient associated with your department. If I search for a patient, that is a standing patient, that patient should exist on the first pass search. Instead I get patients from 0-100 years old (and my patient is not on the list), and I am a pediatrician. Just that one option would hep so much. The search function by phone also needs to associate patient contacts as well, but AT LEAST home department!! Such a clear winner to support.
I realize Haiku was designed for hospitals but outpatient use should be appreciated as well.

### 3/5 — Does not load ER notes

*2026-08-14, version 11.8.3*

I don’t know what the deal is, or maybe it’s specific to My hospital system. It does not load emergency department physician notes. Otherwise, I appreciate the utility of this app and I use it all the time during rounds to place orders and look up results. My hospital system also sprung for the imaging system connection, so I can review CT scans on the go. Kinda nice. I would really like to be able to read the emergency physicians’ notes, though, before going and seeing a new patient. It was really save me the trouble of having to sign in into a computer workstation first.

### 1/5 — getting worse

*2026-07-17, version 11.8.2*

I would rate it higher but it frequently reports there is a message, but then makes us wait minutes to see the message. During the wait the white wait circle rotates or sometimes we get the “timed out” alert. This problem is independent of use of our hospital WiFi.

### 2/5 — So annoying to login 1000 times

*2026-07-11, version 11.8.2*

It’s super frustrating that this app is constantly making me log back in. Let’s even worse is that it doesn’t actually remember my password and if I try to use auto fill on my iPhone, it also won’t work. This seems like a simple fix that could easily be done. Come on Epic. Let’s make things better

### 1/5 — Slowed down in 2q 2026

*2026-07-08, version 11.8.2*

Used to be a very usable app and very peppy. Easy to receive messages, check images and labs, schedules. Since 2q 2026, each time I try to log on, the wheel spins for about a minute and then I am able to log on with another 30 second delay. This just makes it impossible. Tried to delete and reinstall but no change it’s unusable now

### 1/5 — App runs slower for login in

*2026-07-06, version 11.8.2*

The app has been running extremely slow on the login page before inputting username and password

### 1/5 — New bug

*2026-06-24, version 11.8.2*

Keeps freezing before the login screen and won’t let me login. I have had to delete the app and redownload it several times today

### 1/5 — Cannot move bottom bar buttons

*2026-06-23, version 11.8.2*

I don’t know why they locked the bottom bar. Now I can’t quickly access the most used buttons. I don’t need the status board or chat. Isn’t the point of EPIC less clicks and not more?!

### 1/5 — This app never works when I need to.

*2026-06-19, version 11.8.2*

Yes, the convenience factor is great but when I’m on call and don’t have access to a desktop, I need the app to load. Whether it is Wi-Fi or 5G Ultra Wide, this app never logs in and works.

Other applications and Internet searches were completely fine. Just this app.

This app is a gigantic let down. Never works on cellular service. Can’t even send a patient message on 5G UW.

With every update, I just get my hopes up only to be let down. Despite IT support, my issues still persist. I’m not able to utilize any of the functionality of this application on cellular service.

### 3/5 — Stop asking me to enable notifications

*2026-06-15, version 11.8.1*

For almost 15 years, this application asks me to enable notifications every time I open it, and I always tap “maybe later” because this is the only way to dismiss without enabling. Please stop nagging me. I do not want notifications. Just allow me to say no and stop asking.

### 1/5 — Needs notable revisions

*2026-06-05, version 11.8.1*

No ability to reorder tabs within a patients chart. This significantly detracts from clinical efficiency/workflow. Additionally very inconvenient in rapids/emergent situations where a quick review of vitals/background patient info is necessary

### 1/5 — Super slow with new update

*2026-05-26, version 11.8.0*

Please stop making updates to this that make it way worse. It takes so long before it finally asks for Face ID and decides to open. Ridiculous

### 3/5 — Update caused problems

*2026-05-20, version 11.8.0*

Used to work well but the past week it takes forever for the app to open.

### 1/5 — Lacks functionality

*2026-05-02, version 11.7.5*

Can’t edit and sign notes on phone application, can’t order certain things like therapy or home nursing. Can’t bill. If I have to go from one site to another, I need to be able to use phone to complete notes and billing.

### 3/5 — Widget extension

*2026-04-18, version 11.7.4*

Need dev to add widget extension so it can be added to Home Screen widget

### 1/5 — Needs a dark mode

*2026-04-17, version 11.7.4*

How hard is it to make a dark theme…

### 1/5 — Could be so much better

*2026-04-07, version 11.7.3*

Give providers access to read nurses flow sheets and view the meds given. We should be able to see actual images and monitor tracings. Oh and how hard is adding a dark mode setting for crying out loud? So many little things that could make this app more functional.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs a night mode

*2026-09-04, version 11.9.1*

Really wish this app had a night mode or dark mode option so it can be easier on the eyes especially during night shifts.

### 1/5 — Very poor design and lots of bugs

*2026-08-28, version 11.9.1*

Very poor quality app. Nothing works properly

### 1/5 — Worse as time passes

*2026-08-25, version 11.9.1*

The haiku app used to be pretty good. Now it crashes twice a day and makes me login every time I open it with 2FA. This has made me use the app way lesser than what I used to. It also forgets the environment configuration and makes me do it again and again everyday now. My day is way longer than what it used to be due to the app not working right. I can’t access it as fast on the go while rounding. One more thing to add to physician burnout.

### 1/5 — Very limited customizable and limited features

*2026-08-22, version 11.9*

Finding a patients vital signs is so cumbersome and unintuitive. It is the most important metric of patient’s clinical status. It should be front and center and obvious and viewable. Good luck finding them. Clearly not made by clinicians.

### 1/5 — Do not install

*2026-08-20, version 11.9*

We have been advised version 11.9 has a critical flaw affecting scheduling

### 1/5 — Some requests

*2026-08-06, version 11.8.3*

Unsure how to give direct developer feedback so just rated 1 Star for attention. Sorry 1. Would be extremely helpful to have an easier way to access vital signs for patients who are currently admitted to hospital. Currently requires diving through multiple screens through encounters to get most recent vitals. But no way to trend them. If I get a call at 2am that a patient has abnormal vitals, I’d like to be able to quickly see a trend.

Haiku calls don’t vibrate on phone or Apple Watch if phone is on silent mode (as it usually is for millennials). Have to remember to disable silent mode or I keep missing calls. Then have to enable it at home or I’ll be woken by calls and emails overnight if I forgot to put back on silent. Other apps vibrate normally in silent mode. Please make haiku do so as well. Thanks!

### 1/5 — Listen to users please!

*2026-08-05, version 11.8.3*

There is still no ability to edit tabs within a patients chart. Impairs clinical workflow and efficiency, especially so during urgent/emergent scenarios where we need to be able to rapidly review a chart without extra scrolling due to the unnecessary tabs such as “charges”

### 1/5 — Won’t let me login IOS

*2026-08-03, version 11.8.3*

Won’t let me login IOS

### 1/5 — New update

*2026-08-03, version 11.8.3*

New updates and bug fixes make app unusable cannot even log on 3/4 of the time

### 1/5 — Slow and no cellular data connection accepted

*2026-08-01, version 11.8.3*

Takes forever to get to face ID/login page. Cannot place any orders with cellular data.

If I have to be at a computer to place any orders to begin with what’s the point of a glitchy and slow app?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Useful in daily practice

*2026-04-14, version 11.7.4*

Day in and day out, we rely heavily on the Epic access. This allows on site and off site access to EMR which is nice.

### 5/5 — Let’s me review anesthetic cases on the go

*2026-03-27, version 11.7.3*

Very helpful to keep tabs on laboring OB patients

### 5/5 — Perfect quick reference

*2026-03-19, version 11.7.2*

I’m not sure why the average reviews are so low because I find this exceptionally useful. It’s fast, it allows for direct contact between caregivers and provides critical info on its own.

### 5/5 — Practical & Convenient

*2025-12-09, version 11.6.1*

It quickly allows me to check on the most critical information for my patients. I can do remote monitoring of several anesthesia cases. I can review with my patients important information. I can sign consents electronically. Every iteration keeps adding valuable information.

### 5/5 — Nice just oneeee thing

*2025-11-14, version 11.5.4*

Please please can we edit yellow sticky note from the app. I use that to take notes down on the go. using the finger to draw note option isn’t helpful

### 5/5 — Good app.

*2025-09-20*

I gave it full stars not because it’s perfect, but because it does what I need it to do, and like all of my associates and devices, that’s all I ask. As a hospital physician, my workflow is to go from room to room, ER pod to ER pod. If it’s a complex case, I will dictate the beginnings of a note and then finish it on a desktop. I won’t rely on writing notes on paper or remembering. Where epic haiku and canto are really helpful are putting in stat orders and putting in orders that cannot be verbal. Is there room for improvement? Absolutely. And the beauty of it is, our HIT and the epic people have been responsive and actually incorporated some suggestions our team has had. My workflow now is to carry an iPad with Canto from room to room, especially now that we can view and show images from PACS. It’s not a replacement for the desktop app, but neither is Word or Excel or Outlook for the iPad or iPhone. It’s fast, intuitive, dependable, and growing in functionality. I wish I could say the same thing about me.

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2025-09-05, version 11.5*

Help me everyday with my patients in the anesthesia world !

### 5/5 — Great App for Support Staff

*2025-06-15*

I work as a Case Manager in an ER and Haiku takes me to next level on steroids!! App is perfect for Care Coordination, Case Conferences between Provider Teams, quick Provider requests for support, Special Administrative requests.. the communication possibilities are endless! I’m super enjoying this app, it makes me 100 times more efficient! Thank you!! I definitely RECOMMEND this app for seamless communication in any Emergency Room setting!!

### 5/5 — Clinic doc

*2024-12-14, version 11.2.2*

Unbelievably awesome in clinic. Coupled with both Dax Copilot and Dragon, I can feel the burnout sloughing away a little more every day I use this app! Thanks, Epic!

### 5/5 — A good tool

*2024-08-04, version 10.9.4*

The haiku app is overall very good. It is a supplement to the epic on computers, but not designed to replace it … if you want comprehensive charting, then go to your computer/laptop.
