Simple, clean graphics. Better strategy. Smarter AI. You could take over enemy buildings. Fog of war.. and so on. Why cant we just have the original game? A few new units & effects. Key difference is ability to build a base, which could not be done in the original (you stole barracks and factories instead). This new version has 20-odd campaign maps, but maps are disappointing, compared to the maps from the original which seemed more ‘real’ and clearly more thought went into creating them. Overall good, but preferred the original. ### 3/5 — Stopped working now *2022-10-31* I am using an iPhoneXR with iOS 16.1. The game no longer works properly. When playing a random skirmish, the first army does not interact with my army at all (it doesn’t attack me and I cannot attack it). The rest of the armies work fine. The game ends when I have killed all the armies apart from the first one. Basically all of the amazing content made from all previous versions. Id pay $20 or more for it. The next level of customizations in skirmish & campaign to the moon🚀 I liked how one was able to upgrade the troopers in the last versions. I believe the community would have no problem paying for a fuller completed game. Im surprised this has been a hidden gem for a while. I dont know why Rubicon has not reached out to brand themselves on instagram or with other influencers. This game can be #1 in the app store. ### 5/5 — Best $5 ever spent! *2021-03-09* This game is a blast to play and very addictive. I highly recommend purchasing this game and giving it a try. For such a small (and sometimes silly) game, there is a ton of serious strategy! The person who recommended it to me said it was like “Age of Empires” (one of my all time favorite games) for the mobile device world, and I completely agree! The main difference between AoE and ELWG is that AoE is a real-time strategy game (RTS) where ELWG is turn-based. I never imagined that a turn-based game could be so much, but it’s incredible! In fact, it’s one of the biggest selling points of the game because it fits in nicely with people who lead busy lives. Don’t have 3 hours to sit down and play a RTS? That’s fine. Take a couple of minutes to think about your move, make it, and end your turn—then get back to your crazy life! This game provided a nice distraction to 2020, and is one of the best strategy games on the App Store. Side note: One thing this game is missing is a notification letting you know when it’s your turn, but there are work arounds for that. Thanks for reading! I believe the developers could have changed the comedy… It’s been the same comedy through all three games and it’s kind of tiresome. I turn it off. The second is that is a very defense-based… The computer has the advantage. Otherwise, it could be a classic. Too bad rubicon opted to re-use the same old dialogue. It’s one of if not the best strategy games on mobile. It’s turn based, has fun cartoony graphics, hilarious voice lines and campaign, many unique units that are different from each other, factions you can choose to play as with exclusive units and buildings and limitations, and did I forget to say that you can build BASES in this game? Improvement over the last installment, look forward to playing even more. If you start the game over, it gets back to that point of freezes again. I can’t believe I spent money on this. ### 1/5 — Unreasonably Difficult *2023-01-12* I’ve played the previous instalments of this game and this one is by far one of the hardest. For example mission 12 has you attacking an enemy base that is littered with cannons and aa turrets making attack extremely difficult. This is on top of the fact the enemy will be peppering you with stingers and their own artillery which again makes attack impossible. By turn 40 I had barely made it to the hq and the enemy was flooding out units. This isn’t fun. It’s a slog. Mobile games are supposed to be reasonably quick and fun, not tedious and boring. ### 1/5 — Crashed and Can’t Reinstall *2022-05-04, version 1.1* App completely crashed. Even when I deleted it on iPad still says open at store so can’t even reinstall. Tried all suggestions ie restarting iPad, tried to delete the app. Checked updated versions. Nothing worked. My request is for more premade large and epic maps or adjust the custom generator so that I can choose the size of the map I want. A cheat sheet with basic codes to create bigger maps would do. Again , great game with hours of fun. One price and no nagging in-game purchases. Lots of variables and random game boards to keep you entertained. I recommend it and would buy it again. But it’s been a while since an update and the developer website is unreachable. ### 5/5 — Meilleur jeu iphone 😍 *2021-06-27* Alors je connais ce jeu depuis quelques années déjà. Je l’avais mis de côté et je viens de m’y remettre. C’est pour moi sans nul doute le meilleur jeu auquel j’ai joué sur iphone. 1: on paye une fois, une somme modique qui plus est, et c’est tout. 2: plusieurs modes de jeux, dont le online tour a tour, et le mode campagne 3: un jeu de strategie comme on les aime. Avec plein de batiments, de vehicules, des ameliorations etc. 4: un jeu très facile a prendre en main et comprendre Bref j’adore ce jeu. La seule chose que je regrette un peu c’est que ça manque de joueurs sur le online. Du coup on joue souvent contre les mêmes joueurs. En soit ce n’est pas vraiment un probleme, mais ce jeu mériterait tellement d’être connu d’avantage. Les gros gamers seront un peu frustrés mais lzs joueurs comme moi, qui veulent faire une ou deux sessions par jour s’y retrouveront. Je passe generalement 2x20mns sur le jeu. En tout cas le fait qu’il y ai peu de joueur n’est pas un souci. Il y a de quoi lancer des dizaines de parties. Meme plus puisqu’on peut creer ses propres parties. Pour la petite explication pour ceux que ça intéressent, voila comment le jeu fonctionne: On peut rejoindre ou créer une partie. Si on créait sa partie, on a le choix entre une multitude de cartes (petite/moyenne/grande - jungle, montagne etc). On joue son premier coup. On commence avec un pecule d’or et on construit sa base. Une fois quon a plus d’or, on valide son tour. Et l’autre joueur a 24h pour faire son coup Et ainsi de suite :) Le but étant de detruire la base principale de son adversaire.
