Just reorganize your forecast chart to your liking and you are good to go. Elegant layout, informative without being cluttered. ### 5/5 — Better than Surfline? *2022-09-18, version 1.4.7* Epic is a much more accurate app and even though it’s small when the hurricane earl swell came in Surfline was saying it was only 2-3 everywhere on Long Island but epic said it was around 5-6 and it was spot on and there has been many other times like this when it had happened ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Giant ad - Unusable *2025-11-06, version 2.1.8* They put an ad in the middle of the entire screen that I can't dismiss (button doesn't close it). So... after many years I can't use it anymore. It's a friggen UI on top of NOAA - I wish these greedy surf app devs would realize they offer very little value. Make it free with no ads. ### 1/5 — Couldn’t pull forecast. *2025-09-06, version 2.1.7* Got the paid version. It shows me no data… .. If it did what it said it does .. I live in Cape Town, and it couldn’t give me any forecast information on any of the spots. ### 1/5 — Stuck on Define your experience page *2025-07-15, version 2.1.5* Couldn’t get past setup. Stuck on define experience page. Option to try premium for free or stay in free plan with options to enable ad tracking and google ads which doesn’t tick when you select and leaves the done button to proceed greyed out. ### 1/5 — Widgets don’t work. *2022-09-12, version 1.4.7* Love the UI and beautiful design of this app. But widgets don’t work, decided to sign up for trial of premium and just found out. It a single one is displayed in this app. Deleted immediately ### 1/5 — Widget doesn’t work *2021-09-26, version 1.4.7* Unable to add the widget to Home Screen, only Today screen. Even then, it just says “Unable to load”. Looked through Settings and looked at Go Premium and neither mentions anything about the widget. I liked the clean interface thou. Onto the next one! ### 2/5 — Inaccurate *2024-10-01, version 1.5.1* Very inaccurate, like not even close to what the surf and water temp is. The water is never 85 in San Diego. It also said 4 ft waves and it’s been 1-3 here all week. Wasted my money on this one. ### 2/5 — good app design. never updates the surf report *2022-04-06, version 1.4.7* the app looks great. but really only functions for tide report. wind is almost always off. water temp is accurate in only some areas (like santa teresa costa rica is good and socal is totally messed up). wave size is literally never correct for example. im at j bay SA right now and it says it’s 14ft. which is super off. the biggest sets are at around 6ft right now. also the j bay report is not specific? sidenote you have 1 report for an area that’s around a point. it would be nice to know if it’s only good at super tubes or at lower point. maybe split the area to two or 3 points and label them by the spot name? gotta keep using MSW until epic starts updating the surf forecasts and the app more frequently ### 2/5 — Nice design, bad data *2021-09-28* I would change to 5 stars if it didn’t misreport water temp as “94F” in Santa Cruz. Water temp is 65F today on a 59F day (which is warm!) but it’s never 94 in the water. Aside from water temp, wind reads 19mph right now but it’s 8:30am there is no wind at all. Sometimes it will say 1mph wind and I get blasted by 20mph gusts. So basically the app is way off on most of the data. Still better than Surfline which is also way off plus bad design.
