### 2/5 — Has potential but disappointed so far

*2025-11-27*

I traded up because of the new features EpiMonitor has compared to Embrace2. I do like the extended battery life. What I don’t like are the advertisements for location and manual alerts but those are solely based on which plan you choose. The basic plan doesn’t alert your one caregiver to your location, it only calls them saying “__ needs assistance”. Without location it becomes a mad dash to find where I’m at. I like the ability to trigger a manual alert but not at the highest price plan and how to activate it is a bit complicated if someone has a tonic clonic seizure that the watch didn’t catch. We are very disoriented after these seizures and it is difficult to focus. I found it misses quite a few seizures but I haven’t experienced false alarms as others have stated. I would ask to add location to all plans or eliminate the basic plan altogether. Help us help you become the device that stands out above the rest.

**Developer response:** Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad you’re enjoying the longer battery life, and we’re sorry to hear some features aren’t meeting your needs. We’ll pass your suggestions on to our team. As for the missed detections, could you please contact support@empatica.com with more details so we can investigate this?

### 2/5 — Very Disappointed

*2025-07-10*

The monitor appears to only pick up grand mal seizures. And the monitor has given us more false alarms than anything else. Very disappointed for the cost. The monitor only allows for one person to be alerted. The app has to be paired with the phone of the patient and only that phone has access to the data. This is a problem with a minor child or a person with cognitive deficits.

**Developer response:** Hello, thanks for sharing your feedback. Our trained algorithm is indeed designed to detect movement patterns that may be associated with generalized tonic-clonic seizures lasting over 20 seconds. We're sorry to hear about the false alerts. Please feel free to reach out to us here https://t.ly/gYzjs so our team can guide you through tips to reduce them.
We also appreciate your comments regarding data access and device pairing. We'll make sure to share this with our team for consideration in future updates.

### 1/5 — Data tracking

*2024-06-19*

The “my report” section of the app is very disappointing. I have nocturnal seizures and I was hoping it would track my sleeping periods like it’s advertised but it is so spotty. I wear my watch every night to bed and make sure it’s on the high setting and still I look at my reports and some days it will catch my sleep periods and some times it won’t…. Very disappointing for the amount you have to pay for it…. I also doing like how the time stamps are very vague and they only have 6am 12am 6pm and 12pm as the only guidance for time stamps… for this much money I am spending this is 1/10 recommended. Would rather stick with my Apple Watch and use Epipal app instead.

### 1/5 — Expensive Finicky App

*2026-06-12*

EpiMonitor generated false seizure alerts and repeatedly contacted my caregivers even though I was not having a seizure. This created unnecessary stress and confusion for both me and my family. A seizure-monitoring system needs to be reliable, and my experience with false alarms has made me lose confidence in the product. For the cost of the subscription along with a device that needs medical prescription. They need do better to let false alarms stopped. A swing of my arm walking to the bathroom at night or just easy daily routine. the product lets down and alerts too much that is false.

**Developer response:** Hello, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience. If you’re open to it, please contact us at support@empatica.com so our Support Specialists can review your case and provide support.

### 1/5 — Absolutely sucks

*2026-06-08*

Even if I have it on low of if I move my arms in the slightest it goes off and then all of the people who get alerts get freaked out and start messaging and calling. This is genuinely horrible. I feel bad my mom has to pay for this overly expensive thing that is absolute trash.

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience with false alerts. Alarms can be cancelled directly on the watch or in the app before caregivers are notified. Please reach out to us at support@empatica.com, we'd love to help improve your experience.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-04-25*

The watch was over £200, the software to enable the watch equally expensive, phone contract as it needs to connect to cellular and it doesn’t work. It’s sat in the box since. The app worked for about a week and then stopped, we’ve lost any data we’d collated. Too late to return. Extremely disappointed.

**Developer response:** Hello, thanks for your feedback. Sorry to hear about this experience. This isn’t the intended behavior, and we’d like to help. Please reach out to our Support team so we can look into the app issue and data concerns: https://t.ly/gYzjs

### 1/5 — Poor app and pricing

*2026-04-12*

Payed a lot of money for watch and then also lot of money per month to use it it’s sad that they charge so much for a medical piece of kit and then charge a lot monthly too works out about £40 a month. The app isn’t working can’t add emergency contacts and watch buzzes randomly when sleeping disturbing sleep even tho no seizure is due or happening very annoyed with product and app

**Developer response:** Hello, thanks for your feedback. Sorry to hear about this experience. Could you please contact our Support at support@empatica.com so we can investigate and help resolve this quickly? We also understand concerns about pricing and appreciate the feedback.

### 1/5 — The worst

*2025-12-06*

Easily one of the worst account experiences I’ve had. It is virtually impossible to find direct links to your account online and through the app if you need to make changes. Customer support and availability is excruciating. There is no clear link or direction on how to upload your prescription so you can actually receive the device. We’ve paid for the device and now have no idea if it will come. The email thanking you for your order has a button “Link to Your Order”. You know it’s a bad sign when right below the button it says “if button doesn’t work use this link:”. Of course the link does nothing… Spent $400 on the device and have no idea if it will come or if it will work.

**Developer response:** Hello, thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry for the frustrating experience. Could you please contact us at support@empatica.com? Our team will be happy to assist you.

### 1/5 — Do not buy

*2025-07-14*

Horrible comfort has missed two events and is horrible with children

**Developer response:** Hi, we are sorry to hear about the missed seizures and that the experience hasn't been in line with your expectations. Would you please email us at support@empatica.com telling us the date and time of the events? We would like to investigate and see how we can assist. Looking forward to hearing from you.

### 1/5 — Not sure it’s worth the money!

*2025-03-04*

A lot of money for what you get. Lots of buzzing when no seizures. Still to be convinced

**Developer response:** Hello, thanks for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the reported issue. We'd be happy to take a look into this for you. Can you please contact us at support@empatica.com? Thank you.

### 1/5 — Annoying

*2024-10-06*

It always wakes me up in the middle of the night even when I don’t have a seizure

**Developer response:** We are sorry to hear that the device is waking you up at night. This could be caused by disconnections between the EmbracePlus and your smartphone. We’d be happy to assist you further and help resolve this issue. Please feel free to reach out to us at support@empatica.com, and we’ll look into it right away!

### 1/5 — Not for children

*2024-07-05*

Bought this for my 9 year old who suddenly had a major seizure and almost died. It has to be near a phone (super close, upstairs it won’t work). He doesn’t have a phone because he is a child. Therefore it is absolutely worthless. I had to google the best things to detect seizures and this is one of them. I cannot imagine this working for kids though and they did not tell me he would have to have his own phone for it to work it’s. It makes no sense as a monitor because if he is more that 30 feet from my phone it stops working. And the levels of basing, standard, and premium are drastically different things you get. With the basic you only get the high level sensor which is for sleep only. The standard gets you the option to change the levels and the premium gets the data collection they state they have. Hoping to get the refund as I am not buying a phone for my son at 9 with downloading the app that charges more than the Apple Watch will. The Apple watch allows him to call me and also can download an app to track for half the price.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the difficulties you've experienced. As described in our support center, it is required that the user has a dedicated smartphone with Bluetooth and internet connection and be within Bluetooth range (about 30 feet or 10 meters) at all times. Please kindly reach out to us at support@empatica.com, and we’d be happy to find a solution together.

### 1/5 — Has promise, but not ready for prime time

*2024-07-01*

Using this for a child overnight only. No option to power off the watch (or just silence the buzzing) when it's not in use during the day. The embrace2 lets you turn off buzzing - not sure why there's a lack of feature parity. I'd love to see better range as well using the bluetooth 5 protocols -- the device claims to have a bluetooth 5 antenna but range is no better (maybe worse) than embrace2.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. The lights and vibrations on EmbracePlus are important safety features that allow users to understand if something is wrong. As such, it is not possible to turn them off, as they play a key role in keeping the device working safely and effectively. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to write to us at support@empatica.com. We will be happy to help!

### 5/5 — Amazing savior

*2026-05-18*

Parents can close their eyes at night in peace for the first time in years!

**Developer response:** Thanks for your lovely feedback! We are glad to hear that EpiMonitor has been helpful to your family.

### 5/5 — Vibration

*2026-04-20*

Any idea why the monitor vibrates when it’s correctly on the patients wrist and no seizure is going on?

**Developer response:** Thanks for your message.
This can sometimes happen if the device disconnects from the phone. We suggest checking this guide for more details bit.ly/4cHKPpz
If the issue persists, please feel free to contact our Support Team at support@empatica.com and we’ll be happy to help.

### 5/5 — How proud l am of this medical watch

*2025-11-19*

This watch has saved my life , who ever invented it they or a life saver x

**Developer response:** Hi Alicia, thank you so much for sharing this. We’re truly glad to hear how much it has helped you. Wishing you all the very best 💜

### 5/5 — Massive Improvement

*2024-12-08*

The EmbracePlus is a huge step up not only in build quality but in the fact that it’s FDA approved. Not to mention how much better the app is. 10/10 would recommend.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your kind words. We are happy to hear that you are enjoying the EmbracePlus and the app experience. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we are grateful to be part of your journey.

### 5/5 — it’s a nightmare; empatica does it again!

*2024-06-07*

no customizable UI for the actual bracelet (poses issues for anyone low vision or with color contrast issues), no contact photos for caregivers, forced to turn off low power mode and was warned that the app will drain my battery, location isn’t optional so it will further drain battery…

biggest complaint is the UI. don’t make something like this if you won’t give different customizable options.

### 4/5 — Change one thing

*2026-06-06*

Please add an option to disable notifications/vibrations when the app and watch disconnect. Data/bluetooth isn’t always reliable and I frequently receive vibrations when the devices disconnect and reconnect for a short second. because of this. I end up getting a vibration every 10 to 30 minutes which makes me less aware of important alert since the frequent disconnect vibrations become distracting and easy to ignore

**Developer response:** Hello, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about the frequent disconnect vibrations and understand how disruptive this can be. We'd love to look into this further. Please reach out to us at support@empatica.com so our team can assist you.

### 3/5 — Good product, but ...

*2026-06-26*

I recently began utilizing the EpiMonitor trading in my Embrace 2 Seizures Watch. While I appreciate the various features offered by these devices, I have faced some challenges when logging additional triggers during manual seizure recordings. At times, the experience can be somewhat disorienting, and there are instances where the device does not successfully detect a seizure event. Nonetheless, this product holds considerable value and has been a beneficial tool for my needs.

**Developer response:** Hello, thanks for your feedback. We apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing. Could you please reach out to us at support@empatica.com so we can investigate the issue further? Thank you.

### 3/5 — Could be better.

*2026-03-12*

I use this for my 8 year old. There are several areas of improvement needed. (1) There needs to be a caregiver version of the app for my phone. (2) There should be the ability to set a schedule for things. Example: Set the sensing to LOW every day at a certain time and back to HIGH at a certain time. I try to remember to turn it to low for school, but sometimes forget which leads to false alerts while she is at school and panic for me waiting for the nurse to send the all clear. (3) The sleep info isn’t very accurate or useful. (4) For the watch only- my daughter has had it for about a month and the band loosens constantly and is falling apart already. (5) Ability to mark multiple false alerts at once. When she has a hard day, she gets quite frustrating and can sometimes set her watch off several times. It’s time consuming to mark each individual alert as a non-seizure, then wait for it to clear. (6) Bluetooth range isn’t great. (7) In future models, a touch screen to cancel alerts. My daughter struggles to get them cancelled accurately on the watch. And she’s not quick enough to get her phone out of the pouch. (8) Some way to make the app stay open or auto reopen. She closes it out completely all the time without realizing.

**Developer response:** Hello, thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’ve passed your suggestions along to our team as we continue improving the system. If you’d like, please contact our Support Team at [support@empatica.com](mailto:support@empatica.com). We’d be happy to help with tips for keeping the app open, reviewing sleep data, or checking Bluetooth connectivity.

### 2/5 — Potential, below expectations

*2026-03-03*

Does well notify when seizures occur, but Bluetooth range is terrible. Phone can be within 5 feet of me and will say disconnected.

Also the fact there is no light to see the notifications/time like a true watch at night is annoying for someone who has them at night predominantly.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear about your experience. We’d like to help check what might be causing the disconnections. Could you please contact our Support Team (support@empatica.com) so we can assist? We’ve also shared your feedback about nighttime visibility with our team.
