A bit clunky on my fire cube with favorites and suggestions. I watch mostly on my IPad and every day it forces me to log back in through xfinity. None of my other apps do this. ### 3/5 — Where’s the 4K? *2022-10-07, version 170.1* I am going to watching season 3 of War of the Worlds and the place card for the show says it’s in 4K Ultra HD. Yeah, when I play the show on my Apple TV 4K, it is being shown in SDR only. For a streaming service it was on by a major movie studio, this is embarrassing. Please get this fixed so that we can enjoy the shows that are supposed to be in 4K, in 4K. ### 4/5 — Need more good movies and shows. *2022-04-25, version 162.1* Just not enough movies and shows. And not even good old movies , like the shepherd with Jean Claude vanndamme. It’s a great app, but if people’s paying for it they need to have good decent movies and shows. ### 2/5 — Barely worth the Effort *2021-11-17, version 155.0* I really dislike the app, to the point when I pretty much ignore it. First issue is the frequent and cumbersome log in to verify my provider. Second issue is that choosing something to watch is so frustrating. The Coming section needs a visible date when the item will be viewable and most important DON’T include it in the lists by category until it can actually be watched. Nothing more annoying that finding something to watch only to see that it won’t be available for days or weeks. I get disgusted at this point and go to other streaming services. ### 2/5 — Just an OK App *2021-07-01, version 147.1* Having to log back into my provider daily is very annoying especially when it stops what your watching to make you sign in. It does not maintain what your watching. I have to keep moving the bar to where I was when I stop watching something and come back to it. Regards, EPIX ### 3/5 — Casting Only??? *2020-08-09, version 132.0* Overall a good app and haven’t any issues streaming. A pretty descent selections of movies. I have to give three stars due to the fact I have to cast from my phone to watch on my TV which is super inconvenient. Why not just straight from the app on my TV? ### 2/5 — 4K is an issue *2020-07-11, version 130.0* The app works fine but refuses to play 4K content on my TV. Every other app that I use that offers 4K has no issue. With this one it gives me the HDCP error. I have gone through troubleshooting that I have found online including switching out my cables. Nothing works. So frustrating! If the app won’t let me play in 4K, it should give me the option to play the title in normal HD. It does not. ### 1/5 — App and TV never sync. *2020-05-18, version 127.0* After subscribing through my app on my phone, I cannot no matter which way I try, log into it on the TV. I see reports of others having the same issues. It’s very frustrating and I will be canceling my $5.99 subscription. So for Apple TV I did a free trial for epix which ended on March 30 and of course now it’s no longer listed as active subscription for me. However when I go to Apple TV epix is still listed under my channels. And when I clicked on shows and movies it is saying “Play Free Episode/Movie” even though subscription is no longer active? **Developer response:** Hello, there are certain series that have Free episodes, usually the first episode. Our sincerest apologies for any confusion. ### 1/5 — Keeps saying I am missing out *2020-03-15, version 123.0* I have a directv account and subscribe to EPIX on Directv but the Apple and iPhone app do not work even after deleting, resetting, re-entering devices and log in info. Pretty much wasted my time. Cancelled subscription as a result. Would have given a zero for no service and wasting an hour of my life. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Only Stereo Audio (on TV & iPhone/iPad) *2023-02-15* Even for the show Belgravia, which is advertised in app, as 4K with 5.1 sound, it only plays it in 2 channel stereo. It’s 4K but only SDR. The content here lacks HDR entirely and plays movies like Maverick in 60fps, while Belgravia plays in 24fps, which proves the app is capable of delivering content as the creators intended. The decision to limit the audio and video quality has been made by EPIX/MGM and is not a limitation of the app or devices. I won’t pay for streaming services that don’t at least offer recent movies in HDR & Atmos. That’s just standard fare in 2023. ### 1/5 — Epix APP Ruined *2023-01-23, version 175.1* Epix/MGM+ has ruined the use of the Epix App thru TV provider Verizon for Iphone. It does all the steps and when you try to complete the sign in it will not do it. I have tried to work with Epix customer service and they give you the run around blaming Verizon when all the sign in with other apps work fine. It is a shame this was one the best streaming apps in the market and now it does not work. ### 1/5 — App is super non responsive for downloads on iphone *2022-09-19, version 169.0* Getting very frustrated with this app. Doesn’t seem to want to download and then after two tries you get a message that says “sorry can’t download this title more than twice”. After going through the screens to create an account the link that is sent to my email is always expired. I’ve tried to activate in the past and it seems to recognize that. When you try to submit a question on how to proceed you get stuck in an endless loop on clicking on captcha pictures. Why is this so hard??? I haven’t ever gotten this work ### 1/5 — Can’t log in *2022-01-03, version 156.1* Tried repeatedly to log in. It accepts my cable provider, my user name and password, and everything looks fine. But when I do anything it kicks me right back to log in. Tried reinstalling and that didn’t help. Just tried today and the same problem. ### 1/5 — Updated: TV logins are STILL NOT WORKING!!!! *2021-12-09, version 156.1* Update: December 9, 2021 There have been 2 updates since my review and still I am unable to login with my FuboTV credentials. I used to be able to, but not for the last 2 months. This is not just towards Fubo, other people say that they are having the problem with DirecTV, DishNetwork, etc. It is pathetic that EPIX has not fixed this. When you try to login, you get an error message that says: {"message":"There was a problem parsing the response from our partner, please try again."} It sure would be nice if they cared at all to fix this, instead of doing nothing about it! Original Review: No longer able to login with TV provider FuboTV. It seems that others are having the same problem, hopefully this is fixed in the next update. ### 1/5 — Broken Playback *2021-11-30, version 155.1* Some videos (Britannia for example) will not play on current iOS builds on either iPad or iPhone. Others will. Stream just sits there and spins after the epic logo clip. Broken release. Tried to report through support but the captcha on the support page is broken on Safari as well. ### 1/5 — History and lack of timeline or progress bar *2021-10-16, version 153.0* There’s no progress bar for series shows watched and no indication which episodes was watched last from a series. The history tab mixes everything watched so that’s useless for using it as a timeline or progress bar. ### 1/5 — useless for downloads *2021-04-08, version 143.1* The only reason I use this app is to download movies to watch offline. Recently this hasn’t worked at all. I try to download a movie and it never completes, so I cancel the download and try again. Then I get an error that a movie can only be downloaded twice and to try another movie. Restarting my device, un/re-installing the app, nothing works. So now this app is totally useless. ### 1/5 — Explain To Me AGAIN… *2020-06-05, version 127.0* …why I should have to pay for an EPIX streaming account just to use the EPIX app when EPIX is part of my AT&T TV package? I can watch EPIX programming through the AT&T guide — why are you telling me to call AT&T because YOUR app insists that I need to ‘subscribe’ in order to access most anything in the app? I don’t understand. Until you guys remove that block, there’s no sense keeping the app on my AppleTV — which is a shame, because I was looking forward to talking up your programming and recommending your service to friends as an alternative to STARZ and Showtime. Please fix this. **Developer response:** If you are subscribed to EPIX through AT&T, you will have to download the EPIX app on your Apple TV device and Log In using your AT&T credentials. Apple TV offers a subscription to those who may not have a subscription to EPIX through their television provider. That makes it easy to select and save films that I want to watch.
