### 3/5 — It works but it needs attention.

*2025-09-03, version 1.3.2*

This app needs some attention. It should not show every Bluetooth device in existence; it should filter Epoch only signals. It should also employ a BLE non-exclusive connection, that way I don't have to go find my tablet and disconnect it if I want to view the battery stats on my phone. Thanks.

### 3/5 — kinda barebones

*2025-06-04*

Shows SOC as percentage and as voltage. Shows individual cells. Shows temperature probe readings. Shows amps in/out. What do I dislike? The bluetooth. It disconnects on a whim and then even requires that I manually disconnect if I want to see the battery from another device (tablet, phone) it's clunky. The battery itself works well.

### 3/5 — 460 V2

*2025-02-08, version 1.2.6*

I bought this great battery however the app is horrible. It says be within 10 meters to connect but I have to be within 3 ft or the device can’t find the battery. Another problem is it automatically turn off after a minute so when your looking at different screen you have to go back and turn it on again. I wish I would have bought the cheaper battery and put an eviction shunt and saved money. Also can’t update because it wants a password that’s supposedly not required. Horribly disappointing

### 2/5 — Please filter based on MAC address prefix

*2025-02-06, version 1.2.6*

The app is annoying in that it detects every Bluetooth device in our RV. This is silly, because Epoch could easily filter based on the MAC address prefix(es) they use in their batteries. Just a few lines of code would make this app far more usable. The glitzy graphics and animation are not necessary. Just present the information simply and reliably, please.

### 3/5 — Bad battery information

*2024-12-19, version 1.2.3*

That app used to work, but now I have no idea where my battery state of charge stands. Seems like good batteries, but horrible app now. For so many Epoch customers this Needs to fix quick.

12/19/24. Update
Finally got an update for the epoch app. Charging time and discharge time have been fixed. The App load time is faster. Thank you

### 3/5 — Cannot save battery connection

*2024-09-11, version 1.2.0*

The app provides valuable information on the batteries and works well with multiple batteries. However, the battery connection and name is not saved so you have to re-select the batteries every time you close and reopen the app.

Furthermore, it is unable to filter out non-epoch devices so all the wireless devices in the area show up in the list making it even more inconvenient to find and select the right devices.

This can get very annoying when you want to use the app frequently to check the status of your batteries. This should be a relatively easy programming fix to save the device address so hopefully this will be fixed soon.

### 2/5 — Does not always reflect true battery charge.

*2024-09-05, version 1.1.9*

My app was showing 70% left on the battery yet the battery was dead. At no time did the app show that the levels were declining. Battery died, app read 70%.

I would not depend on this app especially if you use it in situations such as electric water motors. It left me stranded.

### 1/5 — They ruined it!

*2024-07-10, version 1.1.9*

This app used to be useful. It used to give the time till discharge or charge. It used to give all the details and info on one screen. Now it is all graphics that are useless! If it doesn’t get changed back to something that resembles the old app I will never purchase another epoch battery again.

### 2/5 — Suks

*2024-07-04, version 1.1.9*

Loved the old app hate the new one, they took away my favorite feature where it shows the time it takes to reach full charge.

### 1/5 — Not working at all !!!

*2024-07-03*

Can’t select the battery from the devices list

### 1/5 — No data

*2024-06-29, version 1.1.8*

Would rate 0 stars if I could. With the most recent update, I see no data on my batteries. I guess the the one star is for the new design which looks nice, look forward to using it someday. Please roll out the old app so those of us who can’t see data can at least manage our batteries effectively.

### 1/5 — Terrible Update

*2024-06-18, version 1.1.7*

The previous app had its issues but at least it showed all the critical info that battery owners really need.

The new update is so bad i’m not even sure where to begin. Who’s Great idea was it to remove and separate most of the important information and add some disconnected, irrelevent graphical interface that no one asked for. It’s so bad im actually a bit astonished that epoch could produce this garbage or let it pass onto their customers.

all they had to do was fix and tweak the old app a little. Instead we got some colorful, flashy whatever you want to call it mostly useless garbage.

was going to buy a couple more batteries from epoch, but now i’m starting to question the leadership over there and potentially the product.

The app seems really disconnected from its users who understand what lithium batteries are and how to care for them and instead is trying to make some flashy gimmick to wow the ones that don’t.

At the very least epoch should release the old app as a separate app so those of us who manage our batteries can have something useful to use and those that love pretty, flashing colors can have the new version.

### 1/5 — 6/24 app update lost all use

*2024-06-15, version 1.1.6*

While the older app had its limits, especially with Bluetooth, the new app is unusable. I was very surprised when I opened up the app to check on battery status and no usable information was available. It shows my battery has been discharged, nor does it show it being charged when connected to a charger.

### 1/5 — Broke

*2024-06-15, version 1.1.6*

New update broke can’t see my battery’s functions anymore

### 1/5 — Worst update

*2024-06-15, version 1.1.6*

Ever since the new update, the app says everything is 0%. They need to fix this ASAP and go back to the previous version. I don’t know who came up with the interface, but it’s stupid!

### 1/5 — New update brings dated UI and removes features

*2024-06-14, version 1.1.6*

Before the latest update my biggest complaint about the app was it didn’t remember bluetooth devices. Every other app lets you add the bluetooth device and can connect back when you open the app. Not this app.

Then the update (reskin)… the UI has been revamped to be these ugly 3d graphics which add very little and give off 2006 UI vibes. I would have survived these updates if they didn’t remove useful information like the time until the battery will die based on the current usage. Additionally its just a sloppy UI with backwards animations like the battery charging upwards when its being drained…

Overall just disappointed they spent resources on a useless reskin instead of improving useful functionality.

### 1/5 — All Zeros

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Annoying

*2026-03-12, version 1.3.5*

Yikes. Echoing what everyone else is saying on here - the batteries are great but the app is garbage. It doesn’t auto-connect to bluetooth and frequently drops signal, meaning you have to keep selecting the batteries in the device list over and over again. It’s never once remembered my devices. Definitely a software issue.

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2025-04-26, version 1.3*

This app is useless. I’ve had it and my battery for about a month. Seems like the app just got worse and worse. Starting today, Bluetooth won’t even connect even with my phone on the gauge that has the Bluetooth module in it.

### 1/5 — Awesome Battery, Trash App

*2025-03-25, version 1.2.8*

Probably one of the best values in lithium batteries out there, the product is soured by their absolute trash quality of an app. Gimmicky graphics, crashes all the time, and overall horrible UI/UX compared to other batteries. History tab is utterly useless as it default loads to the day you installed the battery, not the last couple hours like victron.

Get your app together epoch,

### 1/5 — This app is not documented anywhere

*2025-01-22, version 1.2.5*

I like my Epoch battery, but this app displays data that nowhere on earth is documented on what most of it means. This is absolutely infuriating.

### 1/5 — App is not documented

*2025-01-11*

This app is not documented at all. I cannot understand why my battery heater isn’t working. Nothing in the battery manual states how it works and this app has no explanation. Further, this link supplied in this app for my battery isn’t even the correct manual. Epoch needs to re-evaluate this entire app and documents its use so I can get the most out of my $1500 battery and stop screwing around.

### 1/5 — Can’t connect to the Bluetooth

*2024-11-29, version 1.2.2*

I read the reviews and was like how bad can it be, connecting to Bluetooth is about as basic as it gets. Apparently not…. The app is shockingly bad. It connects to the Bluetooth and then immediately disconnects. I’ve tried multiple times with no luck. Absolutely terrible app. Again connecting to Bluetooth is as basic as it gets for 20 years now. Please fix!?!

### 1/5 — Trash

*2024-10-13, version 1.2.1*

The new app is complete garbage. Don’t know how whoever designed the update thought it was a good update. Gives you useless info and none of the info you would need for the battery.

### 1/5 — Bring back the old app

*2024-09-07, version 1.1.9*

The batteries are rock solid, but I agree with most of the posts about the new app. The old app had a feature to tell you how many hours minutes were remaining at the current discharge rate. Also showed you how long it would take once you’re charging to charge up the battery. Those two statistics were awesome to have. Please bring them back!

Also, what is the “Advanced setting” password? In that part of the app, (once the password is known), does that area give more data or configuration parameters? Your user manual doesn’t talk about this part of the app.

### 1/5 — Not working at all !!!

*2024-08-31, version 1.1.9*

You guys are a complete disaster, for 3 months your app is not working at all, what are you doing there?????

### 1/5 — Bring back the old app

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great Battery!!

*2026-03-07, version 1.3.4*

I’ve been extremely impressed with the Epoch 460Ah 12V LiFePO4 battery. The capacity, performance, and overall build quality are outstanding. For anyone needing serious off-grid power for an RV, van build, backup system, or mobile work setup, this battery delivers exactly what it promises.

The 460Ah capacity provides a massive amount of usable energy, and the LiFePO4 chemistry offers the long cycle life, stable voltage, and safety that lithium batteries are known for. One of the things I noticed immediately is how well the voltage holds under load. Even when running larger loads through an inverter, the battery maintains consistent output without the voltage sag you typically see with lead-acid batteries.

Another big advantage is the simplicity of having so much capacity in a single 12V battery. Instead of wiring multiple batteries in parallel, this one unit provides an enormous energy reserve while keeping the system clean and straightforward.

One of my favorite features is the Epoch iPhone app. It connects quickly via Bluetooth and gives you detailed real-time information about the battery, including state of charge, voltage, current, temperature, and remaining capacity. The interface is clean, responsive, and easy to understand. Being able to monitor the battery directly from my phone makes managing the system much easier, especially in a mobile setup.

Charging performance has also been excellent. The battery accepts charge quickly and efficiently, whether through a DC-DC charger, inverter charger, or generator setup.

Overall, the Epoch 460Ah battery is an absolute powerhouse. Between the massive capacity, reliable performance, and the excellent mobile app for monitoring, it’s one of the best lithium battery options available. I would absolutely purchase it again.

### 5/5 — Epoch app

*2024-08-04*

This app is very helpfull to me as I am now able to see how many amps appliances or electrical consumers are using. It also gives me the charge rate the solar system is charging at and also the charge status of the battery. Love it

### 5/5 — Big Improvement with update

*2024-06-21*

The update with the new look is so much better. It no longer disconnects every time you minimize the app and you can see the important information in large letters that are easy to see at a glance. It now shows you the combined states of multiple batteries. The animation is unnecessary and distracting but other than that it’s a huge improvement. Not sure what the negative reviews are about. The only thing odd is that it requires a password to access the advanced settings but there’s no information anywhere as to what the password is.

### 5/5 — Great app & batteries!

*2024-04-04*

Have used these batteries in a bass boat and am currently in the process of replacing my golf cart batteries. App combined with top notch customer support definitely makes these a step above all of the other lithium brands!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-03-28, version 1.1.3*

Shows much more than just state of charge! It compliments my Victron BVM-712 shunt because the battery’s own shunts are many times more reliable and gives me more information on the battery cells themselves.

### 5/5 — Great batteries and great customer service.

*2024-03-27, version 1.1.3*

Epoch batteries are the only brand that I will buy. I love mine so much. They are very responsive if you have any questions and the app is super handy to see what is happening with the battery.

### 5/5 — Easy information

*2024-03-26, version 1.1.3*

The app gives quick charge info. Very easy to use while on the boat.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2024-03-26, version 1.1.3*

Always quick to connect and give me reliable information. Love the fact that I can monitor my power left in the water.

### 5/5 — Nice batteries. App works great also.

*2024-03-25, version 1.1.3*

Love these batteries.

### 5/5 — Solid batteries great interface

*2024-03-19, version 1.1.3*

Great build to last batteries with app interface and good customer support.
