The navigation pane does not correctly interpret my EPUB’s navigation format and falls back to raw file/spine names. Looks like the EPUB’s internal XHTML resource names. That is, meant for a computer, not for a human.

I’m trying to create EPUB 3.3 files and they pass EPUBCheck but when loaded into Apple’s Books, they do not display properly.  It has to do with <pre> tags wrapping to multiple pages.  The first page formats correctly but the subsequent pages do not.  (This is all for Apple’s Books — please don’t get confused.)

So I got EPUB Viewer Pro to test and it can display my test book correctly.  It even has position: absolute and text that becomes visable when the cursor is over it — just as HTML 5 should be.

So… after just one test, I say it is good.  I would give it a 5 but I just don’t have enough testing on it yet.

Hi!  Although I sometimes use Apple's Books app, I find EPUB Viewer Pro to be very useful.  It has a very easy to use interface, and I find it really convenient to move around different pages using the side-bar on the left.  I also love the 'Zoom Button' that allows me to quickly change the size of the text.  Thanks a lot!

This provides an easy way to view and convert EPUB files to PDF files.   It also works quite fast on my Mac mini.    I can even send multiple EPUB books and it opens each book in its own window.   A single click of the PDF button is about all you need to do.  The conversion quality seems high.   The file size does increase as a PDF file but I expected that given what I know about the formats.   I could complain about the software not having more features but it does what I need it to and at a good price.  Plus, the developer continues to release updates which is the most important feature of all in my opinion.

Nachdem andeere Programme nicht im Stande waren, epub-Dateien in pdf-Dateien umzuwandeln, deer EPUB Viewer dies aber schnell und anstandslos - und gut - gemacht hat, bin ich vorerst sehr zufrieden! Danke!

I just spent the last hour trying to do a simple task with an epub file: Copy a long passage of text, including italics. Kindle and Apple Books can’t do it (they don’t let you copy long passages from your own epubs). Calibre and Yomu can’t do it (lose the italics). This app can and it’s easy to select the text. Thank you EPUB Viewer Pro! For reading epubs it’s fairly clumsy, and it has some bugs, but because it can do that one task well I give it a good review.

First, I rarely rate or review anything, let alone a book the moment I have it.  However, this app pops up a request for you to do so immediately.  Like hell in a handbasket will I do that.  Not like the millions who review products they buy after only having it for an hour or two, or haven’t even opened the box it came in.  That’s idiocy.  Review either after having used it for a few months, or if the product (or in this case an app) fails upon first using it.  Which in this case. . . It’s search function does not work.

The app generates dialog boxes asking for reviews at an alarming rate; when the app opens, when there's an epub open and even when the app is running and no epubs are open.  The interval seems random, but at some points it was popping up a dialog every 5-10 minutes.

In the sort time I used it the it seemed to read epubs as advertised, but it's far too infuriating to use in any real situation

Pues eso, lo mejor que se puede decir del programa es: que la aplicación abre perfectamente en un sistema 10.11. Y poco más. En principio muestra la primera página, no hay manera de avanzar. Encima, lo hace en un tamaño enorme y tienes que ir al zoom para encajar en la ventana. Luego de buscar como hacer algo con ella, como si fuera un juego de inteligencia, hay un listado de palabras a la izquierda que funcionan como enlace a cada una de las páginas, sin indicar capítulos ni partes ni nada, simplemente enlazan con la primera palabra del texto. Tampoco hace caso del tamaño seleccionado, has de volver una a una a volver a manejar el zoom para ver la página, ya que en la mayoría únicamente vez una parte, a veces ni tan siquiera la primera palabra completa. Es absurda. Totalmente inútil. No tiene ningún uso real para ver ePubs. Lo único interesante: puede convertir el ePub a PDF, pero lo hace cargándose todo el formato y reinventando el que le parece. Hay miles de aplicaciones que realmente hacen el trabajo, no es el caso de esta. Su mejor recomendación: como dije al inicio, que se abre. Algo de agradecer hoy día. Pero inútil para hacer nada con ella.

Got this to open an epub file I got ten years ago. This app was able to tell me file was encrypted, and showed me the chapter titles, which was better than other apps could do.

I like this app. I tried several epub apps and found this to be the best one. The thing I like the best is it will convert the epub file to a pdf file. Since I'd rather print it and read it as a book than on my pc I love it.
