### 4/5 — Getting the hang of it!

*2024-03-15*

My initial review was negative, due mostly to what I viewed as a merging of the ‘Lessons’ and marketing the product. But now that I have been using it for a few weeks its advantages are clear and no more material that could be viewed as marketing. Through touch feedback on the screen (1,2 or 3 taps) the app adjusts what’s presented next, keeping the ‘lessons’ focused on the learner’s needs, which is a great advantage. Still a bit confused about the overall‘course outline’ - thus 4, not 5 stars- but I hope that will become clearer with time.

### 4/5 — Very logically arranged, 'responsive' to user

*2024-03-15*

The course seems to presume some knowledge of meditation, though that may well be because I identified myself as having some experience - the course does 'adjust' itself based on user input (via 1,2 or 3 taps on the screen), much like any good teacher ajusts the curriculum on the fly based on student input. Still a bit adrift on the overall course structure, but so far it has been interesting and beneficial.

### 5/5 — Awesome App!

*2024-03-04*

Learning so much and finding peace at the same time has never felt so easy. Lessons are “bite sized” chunks making it easier to fit in to real life than some other meditation apps. Clear and lovely voice guidance without distraction of music or fake background noise create an opportunity to deep dive each experience. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — First one I’ve wanted to keep using

*2024-03-01*

I gave Equa a try after learning about it in Scientific American. I really like how it asks me questions while practicing and seems to give guidance based on what I say. Seems they’re really trying to do it right

### 5/5 — Great app based on real science

*2024-03-01*

There are so many apps to help with meditation and mindfulness. Some have some good features. Equa is the real deal. This an incredibly well designed app. The content is specifically designed based on principles from cutting edge research at Carnegie Mellon. It is packaged into a well-designed app. Having now used Equa for over a month, I can say it has made a huge difference in my life. I didn’t expect that when I began. I was hoping for a few tips about mindfulness and such. Instead I really find myself looking at life differently- and for the better. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Nicely Guided Tour of Equanimity

*2024-02-20*

First unit gives relaxing overview of the basics of equanimity and mindfulness meditation. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Skills, Science, Simplicity, Suggestions

*2022-01-30*

I love the skills based approach behind this method. It’s the first time any mindfulness program has explained the three attention skills (concentration, clarity and EQUAnimity) that mindful practice helps me develop and why those skills are critical to heightened states (e.g. creativity, flow, presence) and overall well being. The fact this comes out of the leading mindfulness research lab in the world (Carnegie Mellon University Health and Human Performance Lab) and has been proven to get results is huge for me. I like that science supports this, it’s just not some woo woo mantra thing, it’s practical and results and supported by legit scientific studies. It’s super simple, the app shows me how to practice sitting and throughout my entire day, easily. Learning to practice mindful with micro hits of practice all day actively is amazing. And finally, it’s interactive, I get to choose what skills I want to focus on and get personalized coaching with a few taps of the screen. I’ve tried all the other major meditation/mindfulness apps… none come close to EQUA.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2021-08-28*

Other apps are so generic ! This app is personalized for just for me!
Ive tried other apps and this has really changed how I view meditation and my relationship with mindfulness !

### 1/5 — Login doesn’t work

*2026-02-16*

The logging page when I get a confirmation email doesn’t work and doesn’t allow me to use the app.

### 1/5 — Almost a year later

*2024-10-08*

Still no updates to content which I exhausted in a few weeks. Still no sync to Apple Health.

**Developer response:** Hi run2tunes,

Thank you for your feedback! We always aim to exceed expectations, and hope to connect with you to make you feel whole. Please reach out to support@equahealth.io and we'd be excited to chat further on how we can make your experience with Equa better.

### 1/5 — No way to reset profile

*2024-03-13*

The app asked what kind of experience I had with Meditation. I have practiced a little, so I answered “some”. It gave me a course that’s too advanced for me. There is no way to reset your answer. I will not be using the app because I cannot access a beginner’s course.

**Developer response:** Hi SciFiWithFries,

Thanks for your feedback, and the awesome new feature idea! Fortunately, this is an easy fix. Please contact us at support@equahealth.io and we'll get you set up on the course level that's right for you!

### 1/5 — Great when it works

*2024-02-29*

The first 13 lessons were great. Although I’m a premium subscriber, the app doesn’t allow me to proceed any further. When I click on lesson 14, the screen redirects me to “subscribe”

**Developer response:** Hi Dell,

We’re so sorry you had this experience! We haven’t seen this issue before, and we’re always bummed when we don’t meet expectations. We want to make it right, so please contact us at support@equahealth.io so that we can get this taken care of quickly. Thank you for letting us know and we look forward to earning back your trust!

### 1/5 — it’s not a meditation app, it’s a sales pitch

*2024-02-03*

i gave up at 6:31 when they mentioned equa for what seemed like the 15th time. Back to 10% happier.

### 2/5 — Abandoned

*2025-11-24*

I wanted to like this science based meditation app. There is a curriculum but there aren’t any instructions. Most of the courses are just one unit/one day. No guidance for how to use the dashboard. I’ve completed dozens of sessions yet I have 0 minutes “formal training.”You’re supposed to compete micro exercises each day but you only get one reminder and it comes shortly after your full training session. You have to email to get support but I’ve been waiting months for a response to a simple question.

### 3/5 — Good idea but execution not quite there.

*2026-08-20*

I have experience with the SHF method, and the app does a good job guiding users through the techniques. I took 2 stars off because the app assumes I have tapped once every time it asks for a tap response. I have tried a number of different tapping techniques to see if I can get the app to detect my tapping twice but it just doesn't, so all the feedback I receive in the app is for the tap once option.

### 3/5 — Repetitive

*2024-02-21*

I enjoyed the few introductory sessions I did before subscribing, but have been disappointed by the repetitive content. There isn't much difference from one course to another.

**Developer response:** Hi run2tunes,

Thank you for your feedback - the positive and the constructive! We always aim to exceed expectations, and we're bummed we missed the mark for you. Please reach out to support@equahealth.io and we'd be excited to chat further on how we can make your experience learning with Equa even better.

### 3/5 — Go for the monthly subscription

*2024-02-06*

It was hard to tell what was included in the app before subscribing. After the introductory course, there are 35 or so guided sessions (as of Feb 2024). I wish I had realized that before I sprang for the annual subscription. Hopefully they’ll be adding more soon.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback, ael! You're right, it isn't as clear as it could be to see what's included in the app before subscribing. That wasn't our intention, and we are developing a new orientation that will make this clearer to folks before subscribing. We're also working hard to get new curriculum into the app as we speak :)

We always aim to exceed expectations, and we're sorry we didn't for you. Please reach out to support@equahealth.io and we'd be excited to make it up to you.

### 4/5 — Amazing lessons, but only 41 of them?

*2024-05-25*

Writing this review because I tried reaching out to Equa Support last week and haven’t heard back. I love this app and its teachings, and am benefitting greatly from them. However, some of the “accomplishments” do not get logged accurately, and what’s more concerning is that the majority of the “courses” seem to only be one 10-minute unit in length. When I signed up for the autorenewing annual subscription, it was in good faith that the lessons I was enjoying so much would continue for at least a year. I have now completed all 41 available lessons, so unless more developments are on the way (or a bug is preventing me from seeing other features?), I’ll be limited to repeating the same lessons for the rest of the year, after which I’ll likely end my subscription. I would love to hear back from Equa’s developers about this — thank you!

### 5/5 — A new way to meditate

*2026-05-23*

I’ve tried a lot of meditation apps, Headspace, Calm, Walking Up, and Equa is doing something super cool. Having real-time feedback on my breath as a way to “measure” my practice feels validating, and gives me a new sense of confidence that I am doing it well!

### 5/5 — Great mindfulness app

*2025-10-14*

I’ve only just started using this app, but it’s been very helpful to carve out time during my busy day. It reminds me to take time for myself and to be mindful of how I’m feeling. If I’m tense, it helps me to be more relaxed. If I’m relaxed, it helps to improve the quality of the moment.

Great for anyone who would like to be more intentional on changing their state of mind.

### 5/5 — Equa App

*2025-05-25*

Love doing this work

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2025-05-14*

Well organized and interactive

### 5/5 — Great!

*2025-05-01*

As a seasoned Meditatior, it’s tough to find engaging practices where I continue to learn skills and the theory behind them. This is my favorite meditation app I’ve found yet.

### 5/5 — This app has helped me overcome pain

*2024-11-26*

Practicing present moment awareness was suggested to me as a strategy for dealing with chronic pain symptoms. It was not long after that I happened upon Equa. I had no clue there was an app for equanimity and I immediately signed up and with few exceptions have used it every day. I had never heard of the concept of see, hear, feel or concentration, clarify and equanimity. It’s brilliant! Since starting Equa I have found myself using my ear buds less to listen to music and whatnot. I’m just as likely now, if not more, to simply go about the day finding enjoyment in being aware of what’s around me; what I’m hearing, seeing and feeling. And amazingly I find that my new-found ability to focus has enabled big strides in overcoming cycles of pain.

### 5/5 — Great structure

*2024-05-18*

Helped me to be purposeful in my time and effort to learning to be more mindful and aware.

### 5/5 — The devs actually listen!

*2024-04-15*

I wrote a review saying a feature was needed, and the developers got in touch with me and said they will add it! It was really nice to have an app’s developers listen to feedback and respond in a positive way.

**Developer response:** Hi SciFiWithFries,

Thanks for your feedback, and the awesome new feature idea! Fortunately, this is an easy fix. Please contact us at support@equahealth.io and we'll get you set up on the course level that's right for you!

### 5/5 — Being with, not fixing, makes the difference

*2024-03-30*

I dont have to change anything about my life. It is how i am with each moment and the pattern of moments that evolve.
It is a way of life, not a way to dominate myself , the other or the exigencies of life. We live our life forward in a wholesome way.

### 5/5 — A mindfulness app that actually sticks

*2024-03-29*

For many years now, I’ve tried out wellness and meditation apps to help with my anxiety and spiraling thoughts. I can confidently say that Equa is the only tool that worked and still works till this day.

In just the first week of using Equa, I was given a tool that I would be able to use in my daily life. When I feel stressed or anxious, I always think about my senses, just like Equa taught me. It has truly helped to mitigate my panic attacks and has grounded me in difficult moments. Whether it’s getting anxious on a plane, dealing with work stress, or battling moments of feeling overwhelmed with life — Equa’s methodology is what I turn to. I trust the people behind this app and I would recommend it to anyone. Don’t give up on meditation and try out Equa!
