Escapements is a pro mechanical watch timing bench for collectors who want decisions from their logs, not just a list of readings. BENCH ACTION QUEUE Version 1.5 adds a collection-wide Bench tab that ranks every watch by timing condition. It blends recent weighted rate, position spread, service age, magnetism flags, and data confidence into a clear next action: gather more data, rest and observe, regulate, demagnetize first, or service first. OVERNIGHT REST PLANNER Escapements now recommends the best overnight resting position from your own position readings. A fast watch gets matched with the slowest useful rest position; a slow watch gets matched with the fastest useful position. The app estimates the 24-hour result from a realistic worn/rested blend. PER-WATCH BENCH INTELLIGENCE Open any watch detail to see its bench score, weighted seconds-per-day rate, positional spread, data confidence, service window, magnetism warnings, and regulation readiness. Wide positional spread or overdue service intentionally blocks regulation recommendations. MICROPHONE TIMEGRAPHER The optional timegrapher captures tick sound through the phone microphone, detects beat onsets against an adaptive noise floor, and reports observed beat rate in bph with an FFT-backed confidence score. No audio is stored. FIVE-POSITION TIMING Log dial-up, dial-down, crown-up, crown-down, crown-left, crown-right, and on-wrist readings. Escapements summarizes mean rate, spread, outliers, and standards context so you can separate normal positional variance from a real service issue. SERVICE, MAGNETISM, WIND, AND STRAP LOGS Track full service, movement work, pressure tests, battery changes, demagnetization, suspected magnetic exposure, wind events, power reserve, and strap wear. Everything ties back to the watch's timing history. OFFLINE BENCH PLATES The Reference tab now includes 16 original high-resolution visual bench plates covering position timing, overnight rest, regulation triage, magnetism, service windows, beat rates, lift angles, power reserve, timegrapher signal flow, COSC/METAS context, amplitude, beat error, and export preparation. EXPORTS Export PDF watch reports and CSV timing logs for a watch or the full collection. Share through Mail, Files, AirDrop, or any system share destination. PRIVACY Escapements is offline-first. Your watches, photos, readings, service notes, and exports stay on your device. No account, analytics, ads, or tracking. No account, analytics, ads, tracking, or stored audio. ### 1.4.1 — 2026-06-24 This update sharpens the interface and fixes a couple of small display issues for a cleaner, more reliable experience. iPhone is unchanged; still fully on-device. ### 1.4 — 2026-06-23 Version 1.4 adds a regulation attempt journal, a magnetism / demagnetisation log, and a substantially expanded calibre sensitivity database: - Regulation Journal - after applying clicks to your regulator, log exactly what you did (calibre family, click count, direction). Escapement records the pre-adjustment rate and the model's predicted post-adjustment rate. Once you log your next accuracy reading, the app automatically compares the actual result to the prediction - so you build an empirical record of how your specific movement responds to regulation. Found on each watch's detail screen under Regulation Journal. - Magnetic Events log - magnetism is the most common cause of sudden large positive rate spikes (+20 to +90 s/day). The new magnetic log tracks both suspected magnetisation incidents and confirmed demagnetisation visits. Log the rate before and after demagnetisation and the app computes the measured improvement. Events appear on the detail screen and in the PDF accuracy report. Reference note based on the METAS 15 000 A/m magnetic resistance standard used in Master Chronometer certification. - Expanded calibre database - the Regulator Calculator now lists 25 calibre families, up from 9.
