Connection difficulties in connecting to wikipedia. 2. Some of the wiki images borders on porn. Parents please use caution when children use this app. ### 3/5 — In dire need of improvement. *2012-03-08* If this app was free, that would be another story, but for the asking price there should really be more words and better definitions. Often times the Wikipedia article will be non-existent. There are weird gaps like having "pile of wooden objects" but not "wood." "Daily rate" but not "day." And no way to search Esperanto words in order to figure out roots. The grammar reference is also lacking, with no pronouns, prepositions, or conjunctions. Basic words like for and do are missing. Often times using this app I have to go to google translate to find out super basic words. There's also barely any definitions to help tell the difference between words that are spelled the same in English but not Esperanto. ### 3/5 — Crashes when you return to a search *2011-11-01* If you click on a search word then try to return to the search, it often crashes. But I don't understand why you CANNOT search Esperanto words (even if you has to us "x" notation) or browse English words. ### 3/5 — I like it but..... *2010-01-18* I too, would like to see this app go EN-EO and EO-EN. Searching in both directions would make this app perfect for me. ### 3/5 — It's a nice app, but needs improvement *2009-05-16* It's an OK dictionary application, since Ultralingua has decided not to support Esperanto with it's product on the iPhone yet. It would be much better if "Search" would search Esperanto as well as English for the string you are searching for. This would make it bidirectional for translation. If you're trying to look up an Esperanto word, you have to go to browse, and manually scroll through. ### 4/5 — Dankon! *2011-06-15* Tre utila programo - dankon! Very useful app - thanks! ### 4/5 — Awesome, but... *2010-02-07* This app is great. It has a good list of affixes and has many words, but is unfortunately lacking the ability to translate EO->EN. Until it gets that, I would reccomend downloading the free app (I believe it's called Esperanto Dictionary) that only does EO->EN and EO->KO. ## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Closest thing to a Esperanto dictionary *2011-03-29* Thru its Internet link to Wikipedia, this is the only current app that can act as an Esperanto language dictionary. And since it's Wikipedia, you can edit it, too. ### 5/5 — Tre utila!! *2010-09-20* Very useful with a large database of words. Would be the ultimate if it included a way to search for Esperanto words like one can the English (right now, you have to scroll to find the Eo word you're looking for - a downside of that large database!). ### 5/5 — Ple bona. *2010-04-05* Very good application. It was very useful in expanding my vocabulary in Esperanto, especially considering how other dictionaries have stacked up ### 4/5 — Very handy reference. *2009-09-19* An excellent reference for the price. There are many free Esperanto dictionaries available to download on the web, but I've found the formatting or vocabularies leave much to be desired. This app has a nice clean layout, and a huge vocabulary. You can either browse the dictionary, or search for the English term to find the Esperanto equivalent. I would like to see the ability to search for the Esperanto->English term as well, which would make this a top-notch tool for learning Esperantists, and earn another star. :) ### 4/5 — The app I've been looking for... *2009-01-27* The only downside is not being able to search for Esperanto words. It's possible to browse, but with so many words it can take a while to find the one you're looking for. Oh well. Vikipedio browsing is flawless and better than some dedicated wikipedia apps. The grammar section is useful, and overall it looks like the author put some real thought into this app. Plus it's stable and fairly fast. Good work.
